Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

It was my turn to look John over now. My gaze lingered on his midsection. I have never seen him without a shirt on before. He's built like a God. Every muscle on his body seemed to be sculpted perfectly. I raked my eyes down his chest to the 'v' dip in his hips. And lower…

My mouth dried. I drug my gaze back up his abdomen and chest and locked eyes with him. There was a look in his eyes that I could only compare to one thing- hunger. But not for food. John stalked toward me like a predator stalking its prey. My heartbeat picked up and I was suddenly conscious of my naked body.

I tried to cover my chest with my arm but John stopped me. He shook his head, "Don't. You are perfect. More beautiful than I could have ever imagined. And trust me," he stepped back one step and looked me over once more, "I have imagined this many times.

John leaned in and kissed me, softly and then pulled away. And that was all it took for warmth to erupt in my lower stomach. Our mouths collided. Our hands explored every corner of the other's body. And when we finally laid back onto the bed, John hovered over me.

"Are you okay?" he asked, as he brushed my hair from my face. I nodded and smiled, "I'm okay. Just…"

"I know, I'll go slow." But John didn't go slow. In fact, he was the opposite of slow in every sense. He plunged inside of me, and covered my mouth with his hand, muffling the scream just as it began to leave my lips.

He was rough, and unforgiving with his thrusts. Tears rolled down both sides of my face. I never expected first time sex to feel good, but I didn't think it would be so Gods damned painful.

Luckily, it was over nearly as soon as it started. John spilled his seed deep inside of me and then he pulled out, and rolled over. Almost immediately slipping off to sleep. I lay there and cried silently for a while. Before I finally sat up and went to sit in the chair next to the window.

And as I gazed out of the window at the Metro in the distance, I couldn't help but feel like something was missing. Not my brother, I know what his loss feels like. Almost like… Like something else lies await for me out there. I shook my head, ignoring that feeling gnawing in my gut.

I walked back over to the bed and climbed under the covers. John was snoring lightly beside me. Maybe sex would begin to feel better for me eventually. No sense in crying about it. Not when I have no real reason to. I'm free from what once had its claws in me. What more could I ask for? I rolled over and faced the opposite direction of John and waited for sleep to claim me. And it did, fast.

I must have slept hard again, because I awoke in the same position. I peaked behind me and found John to be gone. I stood and stretched my limbs and headed over to the window. The sun was high in the sky. Which meant I had slept entirely too hard. I sat down in the chair beside the window and noticed the soreness immediately.

I wondered how long it would take to get used to sex and if it would be any different or would John always be so… rough. As if my thoughts summoned him, John walked in the door holding bags of what smelled like food. My stomach immediately began to rumble.

"Good morning," John said, his voice light and airy. "How'd you sleep?"

I smiled at him and turned my chair around to face the small table where he sat the food down.

"Pretty good. Maybe it's because I'm sleeping on an actual bed, but I've slept like a baby these past two nights."

John chuckled as he began opening food containers. There was some sort of yellow rice, a flatbread that smelled of butter and garlic, what looked like short ribs covered in some sort of dark sauce. Fried potatoes, some kind of green bean, and chocolate cake. My mouth was watering at all the different foods and smells.

"Dig in. I figured since you tried Aeryn's favorite food you may as well try mine." I wasted no time piling a bit of everything onto my plate. I tried the short ribs first, of course. They melted in my mouth. The sauce tasted sweet, almost like barbeque sauce. But different. Next I tried the rice. There was a hint of chicken broth with salt and butter. Delicious. I had only ever had plain white rice.

I tasted the potatoes and then the beans. Both absolutely phenomenal. I don't think I could ever live again without eating such amazing food.

"Here," John ripped off a piece of the flat bread and scooped up a bit of rice and a chunk of the meat and wrapped them in the bread. "This is how you're supposed to eat it. Traditionally, anyway. I mean, you can eat it however you want."

I took the rolled up thing from John's hand and bit into it. Everything all married together is definitely better than just a bite of each one. I told John as much and he agreed. We finished eating and made small talk about John's morning. He'd told me where all he'd been and how he seen his sister and father not far from here.

He wants to meet them later for dinner. I happily obliged. I could ask around about my brother while we were out. Archie has flaming reddish orange hair which isn't really common. So if anyone here's seen a redhead, they'd remember. After we ate, we set out on the town a few hours earlier than our planned dinner. "To let you explore." John had said.

My heart was happy, my belly was full. Suddenly, last night was just a distant memory.
