Angie didn't get out of bed until the sun was high in the sky. After experiencing the setbacks of the previous day and being rejected by Gulpin at night, he felt a bit unmotivated today.
The first thing he did upon waking was to open his system interface. When he saw the task bar on the system, he opened his eyes wide in disbelief.
Angie's system interface was divided into three parts.
The middle section contained his basic information, and below that were several boxes. The first box was his backpack, which allowed him to store some items. However, he had nothing to put in it, so the backpack was empty.
The second box contained something called Happiness Points, which had previously displayed a value of 0. Angie had never understood what it was and had asked Diancie, who said it didn't know either.
But today was different; the 0 in the Happiness Points box had now changed to 100.
The third box was the shop, but its icon remained gray, and Angie had no idea what the conditions for unlocking it were.
On the left side of the system interface was a book with the words "Recipe" written in large characters. Angie could browse through it freely with his mind, but currently, it only recorded one recipe: "Steamed Bun."
On the right side of the system interface was the task bar. Before the first task was unlocked, the task bar was empty. After he accepted the first task from Diancie, a line of text appeared on it.
[ Entertain 10 Pokémon, deadline: 3 days. (1/10) ]
Yesterday, the task bar displayed: Entertain 10 Pokémon, deadline: 3 days. (0/10)
Having played games in his past life, Angie naturally understood what this change represented; he had completed one-tenth of his task!
It was almost a given that Gulpin from last night was the one responsible for this change.
With that thought, Angie scrambled out of bed, slipped on his slippers, and ran downstairs.
At this moment, Diancie was already up, humming a tune while wiping the tables and chairs with a cloth.
Angie scanned the first-floor hall but did not see any sign of Gulpin, so he turned to Diancie and asked, "Diancie, where's Gulpin?"
Diancie stopped her actions and replied helplessly, "I haven't seen it since I got up early; it's probably left."
"Ah?" Angie felt a bit disappointed upon hearing this. "It just left like that?"
However, Diancie then said, "By the way, Angie, you've received Happiness Points for the first time. Do you want to unlock the system shop?"
As a guiding spirit, Diancie naturally learned about the role of Happiness Points as soon as Angie received them.
Angie was taken aback and immediately said, "First, explain to me what Happiness Points are and how they relate to the shop!"
Diancie nodded in response.
"Happiness Points are rewards that Pokémon receive when you feed them, representing their sense of happiness. For the system, Happiness Points are energy for operation, while for you, Angie, they serve as currency for shopping in the shop. So, the fact that you earned Happiness Points for the first time triggered the shop's opening."
After hearing Diancie's explanation, Angie suddenly realized, "So that's how it is! Quickly, unlock the shop!" He was eager to find out what he could buy with the Happiness Points.
"Alright!" Diancie made an OK gesture, and then Angie's system interface automatically popped up, displaying a prompt in the center of the screen.
[ Would you like to unlock the shop? ]
[ Yes ]
[ No ]
Without hesitation, Angie selected "Yes," and in that instant, the shop icon below his personal information brightened.
He quickly clicked on the shop, and in an instant, a dazzling array of products filled his vision: pots, bowls, pans, clothing, shoes, vehicles, ships, flying machines... almost everything one could imagine, including the bath sand that Diancie used. As long as he had enough Happiness Points, he could buy all of it.
"Wow! This is amazing!" Angie couldn't help but exclaim.
Seeing Angie so excited, Diancie hurriedly leaned over curiously, "Let me see too! Show me, show me!"
Angie quickly bent down to show Diancie the shop. Since Diancie was the system-appointed guiding spirit, it could see the system interface that others could not.
"Wow! So many things I've never seen before!" Diancie couldn't help but gasp in surprise.
Before Angie and Diancie awakened, they had lived five hundred years ago, at a time when the technology in the Pokémon world was not as advanced as it was now. Many items simply didn't exist back then.
As a transmigrator from another world, Angie found nothing in the shop surprising, but for Diancie, this was its first encounter with these things.
Seeing Diancie interested in this item and that item, Angie wanted to say with grandeur, "Pick whichever you like, and I'll buy it for you!"
However, when he noticed his balance of Happiness Points was only 100, he silently swallowed the words that were about to come out.
With just 100 Happiness Points, he could only buy some trivial items; he couldn't afford anything significant.
He might as well save up a bit more!
After a bit of exploration, Angie discovered that while the shop sold various seeds for crops, it did not sell any food or ingredients. It also sold Poké Balls, but it didn't offer Pokeblock, held items, berries, or other things.
Glancing at the price of Poké Balls, which was 500 Happiness Points each, he realized he couldn't afford them.
But that was fine; he wasn't a trainer, so he had no Pokémon to store in Poké Balls anyway. If he couldn't afford them, so be it!
After finishing his exploration of the shop, Angie went back upstairs to wash up, then planned to head out with Diancie to see if they could attract any customers.
Even though failing the task wasn't a big deal, failing the very first task would make him look incompetent! No way; that absolutely couldn't happen.
However, as he and Diancie reached the door, they noticed a bouquet of flowers placed on the doorstep.
"Where did these flowers come from?" Angie wondered.
Diancie tilted its head in thought, "Could it be from Gulpin?"
The only connection they had on the Nebel Plateau was Gulpin from last night.
"Probably," Angie said with a smile as he bent down to pick up the bouquet, bringing it to his nose for a sniff. The rich fragrance instantly filled his heart. "What a lovely little guy."
Angie walked over to Komala's small house and was about to ask it to help guard the place again today when he heard Diancie shyly say, "Angie, why don't you stay home today? I can go out by myself. Maybe that would attract more customers."
Angie paused for a moment, then realized that it was indeed a good idea. After all, it was him that everyone was afraid of and disliked. If Diancie handled things on its own, the situation would certainly improve a lot.
After pondering for a few seconds, Angie nodded and said, "Okay, then I'll stay home and prepare breakfast, waiting for you to bring back customers."
Diancie clenched its fist, filled with determination, and said, "Leave it to me! I'll definitely bring customers back!"
After that, Angie and Diancie parted ways to carry out their plans.
Diancie went out to attract customers, while Angie returned home to prepare food for the guests. He also needed to prepare breakfast for himself, Diancie, and Komala.
Before heading to the kitchen, he found a vase, filled it with some water, and placed the bouquet he had picked up at the door inside.
After setting the vase on the front desk in the hall and admiring it for a few moments, Angie turned around and headed into the kitchen.
Sure enough, Diancie's consideration proved correct. Without Angie nearby to interfere, it quickly brought back a customer.
While Angie was in the kitchen, he heard some noise from outside and was about to step out to check, but suddenly remembered that Pokémon didn't seem to like him. He stopped in his tracks and only poked half his head out to observe.
He saw Diancie leading a plump and round Pokémon into the house. The Pokémon walked in, curiously surveying the shop.
Angie's eyes lit up.
It turned out to be a Munchlax! If it was this Pokémon, it was indeed the easiest to attract.
Munchlax was known for its enormous appetite, even more so than Gulpin.

After looking over Munchlax's data, Angie couldn't help but let out a cheer in his heart. One of its individual values was maxed out, indicating it was a surprisingly nimble fatso.
Both Munchlax and its evolution, Snorlax, are known to be slow Pokémon, but this Munchlax had a maxed-out speed individual value. It's truly...
"Come on, come on, sit here," Diancie warmly invited Munchlax.
Munchlax obediently sat down on the chair, led by Diancie.
Munchlax uncertainly asked, "Munch Munch, Munch?
Is there really food here?
"Of course! I wouldn't lie to you," Diancie assured it. "Just wait a moment; I'll go get you some food right now."
Munchlax nodded and patiently sat there.
Diancie ran into the kitchen and asked, "Angie, are the steamed buns ready?"
Angie nodded in response, "Just finished steaming, they're still warm." As he spoke, he lifted the steamer lid, and a cloud of white steam burst forth. He began to take out the soft, fluffy buns one by one.
Given that Munchlax had quite an appetite, Angie filled the bowl to the brim.
The bowls used in Angie's restaurant for Pokémon dining were each at least as big as a washbasin.
Handing the bowl to Diancie, Angie patted its shoulder and said, "Go on, don't keep Munchlax waiting."
"Got it!" Diancie nodded and hurriedly ran out, holding the bowl.
As Diancie emerged from the kitchen with the steamed buns, Munchlax was sitting at the table, eyes closed in bliss, nose twitching as it inhaled deeply, clearly drawn in by the aroma of the buns.
However, it was obediently following Diancie's instructions, staying put in its seat without moving an inch.
Seeing Diancie return with a bowl of food, Munchlax's eyes lit up instantly, a glistening droplet of liquid forming at the corner of its mouth.
Delicious! I want to eat!
Silently swallowing a mouthful of saliva, Munchlax's gaze was fixated on the bowl in Diancie's arms.
"Here, eat up!" Diancie said as she placed the bowl on the table in front of Munchlax.
As soon as Munchlax heard this, it leaped to action, grabbing a bun and shoving it into its mouth.
"Munch!!!"
It's so delicious!!!
With limited vocabulary, Munchlax struggled to articulate its feelings in words, so it expressed itself through action.
With a bun in each hand, Munchlax chewed vigorously, and in the blink of an eye, half the bowl of buns was gone.
"Slow down, take your time! The buns won't run away," Diancie hurriedly advised.
"Munch, Munch?"
So, this thing is this called a bun?
Munchlax asked, its cheeks stuffed and round, holding up the bun in its right hand toward Diancie.
"Exactly, it's called a bun," Diancie confirmed with a nod.
"Munch!"
It's really delicious!
Munchlax couldn't help but exclaim.
"If you like it, eat as much as you want," Diancie said lovingly, looking at Munchlax.
Meanwhile, Angie was overjoyed.
He watched the happiness points in his system interface continuously updating.
[ Happiness Point +100 ]
[ Happiness Point +100 ]
[ Happiness Point +100 ]
…
In a short time, Munchlax had contributed 500 happiness points to him.
Angie had learned from Diancie that different Pokémon provide varying amounts of happiness points when they eat, depending on how strong their feelings of happiness are at that moment. The stronger the happiness, the more points they contribute.
Clearly, Munchlax was feeling extremely happy at that moment—just as expected!
Angie leaned against the doorframe, secretly observing Munchlax. Seeing it eat with such satisfaction filled him with a sense of achievement.
Before long, he found himself lost in thought, imagining how soft and cozy Munchlax's fur must feel. It would be wonderful to cuddle with it while sleeping…
Munchlax was eating so quickly that it suddenly choked, furiously pounding its chest. Diancie quickly brought over a large cup of water.
Munchlax eagerly lifted the cup and gulped it down. Once it caught its breath, it looked at Diancie and gave a silly grin.
Diancie couldn't help but chuckle at its goofy antics.
After finishing the entire bowl of buns, Munchlax let out a satisfied burp and asked expectantly.
"Munch, Munch Munch?"
Can I come again next time?
Diancie nodded, "Of course, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow."
Each Pokémon can only dine here once a day.
Though the restaurant was established to benefit Pokémon, and the system was called the Pokémon Feeding System, that didn't mean Pokémon could just hang around and eat for free every day. Therefore, each Pokémon could only come once a day since it was free for them.
Even so, Munchlax was very satisfied. It hopped down from the chair and, after rummaging around its body, suddenly plucked a tuft of fur and handed it to Diancie.
"This is your payment?" Diancie asked.
Munchlax nodded enthusiastically.
"Then I'll accept it!" Diancie said as she took the tuft of fur.
Seeing Diancie accept its payment, Munchlax was overjoyed and bouncing happily out of the store.
After Munchlax left, Angie finally dared to come out of the kitchen.

This sneaky feeling was terrible; he really wanted to pet Munchlax too. Boohoo~~~
He glanced at the deep blue tuft of fur in Diancie's hand and saw the information displayed in his eye of observation.
