Before he could do a single thing Damien's surrounding began to shift, and a dazzling light blinded him momentarily.
As his vision adjusted, he found himself staring at a large room. At first, he was surprised but he immediately looked around to access the danger, but all that surrounded him was towering stone walls adorned with strange, carvings and arcane symbols which he could tell were runes.
The room was filled with neatly arranged and labelled magical herbs and plants as well as weapons glittered beneath the light, even though no visible source illuminated the chamber—it was as bright as daylight.
"Damn I am rich. I am fucking rich!!!" Damien shouted in joy. 'This will speed up my plans by so much.
He immediately moved from the path he was to inspect them but as soon as his hands touched them, they turned to dust.
Damien froze as realization hit him. These magical herbs have been here for several centuries without any kind of preservation.
He looked around before deciding on what to do. He walked to a nearby shelf and picked a bottle and unscrewed it and poured the pills on his hand but as soon as they touched his palms they also turned to dust.
He looked at the potions and decided against trying any of them.
'It better with herbs and plant but anything processed is off the table. I should at least try my luck and see if I can get anything from here.'
Determined, he began jogging around the vault, searching for anything that survived.
As he moved and touched everything he passed by, he soon realized that almost everything he saw was rank 3 and below and nothing was beyond that.
'Seems like this place has another vault which should be much more protected than this one.'
Honestly, he had soon realized that this place wasn't main vault, no one would leave their treasures like this.
He felt like this place was used as a storage where day-to-day necessities in running the business were kept and given what he had seen this was most likely a large merchant group vault.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he stumbled upon a shelf that had something other than pills and potions, scrolls upon scrolls were lined on the walls.
He cautiously moved to pick one up and as he did the rune beneath it lit up Damien immediately got in a defensive stance but sone realized that the runes were most likely used as an alarm or to preserve the scrolls.
'Most likely both. At least they are wise enough to know the value of knowledge.' Damien thought as he opened the scroll, and a notification appeared before him.

A wide smile appeared on Damien's face as he looked at the shelfs which was lined with them, although he already realized that some of them were most likely copies.
Damien spent a few hours going through the scrolls and soon realized that scrolls weren't just potion recipes but also blacksmith techniques as well as other professions there were also active skills.
He soon realized that he couldn't instantly learn any skill without studying and understanding them.
He thought about learning some of them but after some thought, he decided against it, at least for now. The space was still unstable besides he had a lot of other things to do as well as the fact he was already feeling the prangs of hunger.
Refocusing, Damien returned to jogging further into the vault.
"Just how deep does this place go?" he wondered aloud.
As though he jinxed it, he soon reached a pedestal with 3 rings laid on it, behind was a large gate that most likely led to the real treasury he moved towards it but as he raised his hands to touch it Damien's hair stood up and he immediately withdrew his hands from it.
'Looks like the runes on this one also kills even if you only touch it. I have to be careful of what I touch in ruins, good thing this place didn't have any traps like this. Well, let get out of here.'
He moved towards the rings and picked them up he checked each of them, they were all the same.

He immediately checked their content and they each contained different denominations. One contained copper coins, the second contained silver coins and the last contained gold coins. Each contained 160 million coins of said denomination.
Damien paused for a second, looked around before dumping the entire copper coins on the ground leaving the spatial ring empty.
He wore all three spatial rings before going back the way he came but this time he was keeping all the scrolls and arranged them according to their uses and ranks, thankfully they were already arranged so all he had to do was put it in the right place.
Before long all the scrolls and some of the lifestyle equipment such as balance scales, tubes, cauldrons, elixir bottles, smithing hammer, rune pens, etc were safely stored in the spatial rings.
Damien looked at the almost emptied storeroom before walking to the door thankfully the door could be opened from inside.
As he walked out, he saw a corpse leaned right next to the door, looking at the clothes on the skeleton Damien could immediately tell that he was most likely one of the higher members of this merchant group.
He was going to walk by because the skeleton had obviously been looted by then he felt something was off with the skeleton.
For one all the mostly intact skeletons he met had all been reanimated once he came close but not this and the most obvious was this was the only intact skeleton in this room.
He walked closer and paused before going even closer when he felt nothing wrong. As soon as he touched the clothes it turned to dust and revealing a coin shaped token embedded in its sternum.
'Looks like whoever looted the skeleton didn't bother checking beneath the clothes after taking the spatial ring but then again who would.'
Damien paused for a moment before he brought out a short dagger from his spatial ring and used it to pull out the token.
As it fell on his palm Damien instinct began screaming at him, at this moment Damien felt a fear like never before. He immediately stoved the dagger and token away and turned to run.
He didn't even try to confirm the cause of his fear before he used Mana augmentation dashed out.
