Chapter 14 - Plans

Damien's eyes snapped open, and a smile spread across his face as he got out of his gaming pod, his mind already buzzing with plans.

"Sup, Damsel," Claudia's soothing voice. "How was the game?"

"It went well" Damien mouth twitched as he heard her greetings, he thought about bickering with her but had a change of heart as he immediately got down to business instead as he walked towards the bathroom. "Give me an update on Star Industries."

"Okay," Claudia replied as she noticed the change of atmosphere around Damien.

"From the latest reports, the stocks of the farming industries are stable and showing a rising trend in most of the branches worldwide. The electronics industries and gaming cafes are experiencing growth across all branches. However, the arms industries and restaurants are currently stable but show a high risk of decline in the future. I have to say, according to what I understand from this data the more the popularity of Origin increases the lower the stocks of restaurant fall. Should I begin the process of selling the food and drinks industry?"

Damien paused for a moment and contemplated a while before making a decision, "Don't, we have too many eyes on us, they are getting suspicious since we started selling most of the properties and cars."

"I thought as much, what do you think we should do?"

"Buy one of the fancier office buildings and have it refurbished black, and silver add the name Star gaming studio, make it as fast as possible and also make sure it is owned by only me not the industries. Place an order for 1000 standard gaming pods. Have them sent to Star Gaming Studio in 10 batches. Make sure to make a big deal about it. I want it as loud as possible, radios, newspaper, blogs, articles." Damien stated as he continued on his way to the bathroom.

"While you are at it begin the process of buying large number of farmlands but make this as hidden as possible but don't erase all traces, buy a few of them as fast as possible and as for the rest make it seem like we plan on moving on with the deals but delay as long as possible. Remember don't purchase more than one farmland at a time you can use that as a reason to delay, transfer some of our fund to some offshore accounts between transaction but do it as little as possible."

"Order confirmed," Claudia responded promptly. "I have gotten a building that suits your needs it will take a week to get it ready."

Damien said as he brushed his teeth. "Call Mrs. Eleanor Hastings, the leader of Star Orphanage Homes. I need to speak with her."

"Connecting you now," Claudia said. Moments later, the sound of ringing filled the room, followed by a warm, familiar voice.

"Good morning, Damien. How are you today?" Mrs. Hastings asked.

"Good morning, Mrs. Hastings. I'm doing well, thank you. How are things at the orphanage?" Damien inquired.

"We're doing fine, thank you. The children are as lively as ever," Mrs. Hastings replied with a chuckle.

"I'm glad to hear that. I have a request for you," Damien said, his tone becoming more serious. "I need you to gather data on the orphans who are aspiring to be gamers. I want to know their skills, their interests, and any relevant information. Could you send that to me as soon as possible?"

"Of course, Damien. I'll start working on it right away," Mrs. Hastings assured him.

"Thank you, Mrs. Hastings. I also need one more thing, I want Alex Thompson Star as well, but he has a special spot. I want you to start making arrangements for him to get to here as fast as possible. He should enter the game in a few days."

"Alex Thompson Star, got it," Mrs. Hastings said, jotting down the details. "I'll make sure everything is arranged."

"Great. Claudia will assist you with sorting the data and choosing the best candidates. We'll arrange for their transportation to the Gaming Studio," Damien said, his mind already racing.

"Thank you, Damien. The children will be thrilled," Mrs. Hastings said, her voice filled with gratitude.

"You're welcome, Mrs. Hastings. Have a great day," Damien replied before ending the call.

"Claudia, make sure everything is set up for Alex and the other kids." Damien instructed as he headed back to his bedroom.

"You say that as if you are not a kid as well but don't worry all tasks have been noted and are in progress, but you should really get to bed your vitals are showing that you are barely standing but I don't understand what is wrong, Should I run some tests?" Claudia asked.

"Don't worry about it." Damien said as he collapsed on his bed and immediately drifted off to sleep.

"Extracting blood for test." Claudia notified before going about her tasks.

*******

The next morning, Damien was up early. He had a holographic meeting scheduled with the board of directors of Star Industries, and he wanted to be prepared. He reviewed the latest financial reports, making notes on key points he wanted to address.

"Claudia, make sure the presentation is ready for the meeting," he said as he finished his breakfast.

"Presentation is ready and uploaded to your device," Claudia responded.

Damien connected to the holographic meeting room to find the directors already gathered. He greeted them with a smile and took his seat at the head of the table.

"Good morning, everyone. Let's get started," he said, opening his presentation. "As you can see, our farming industries are performing well, and we have positive growth in electronics and gaming cafes. However, we need to address the potential decline in our arms industries and restaurants."

The board members listened intently as Damien outlined his strategy for stabilizing the at-risk sectors and capitalizing on the growth opportunities in others. He emphasized the importance of innovation and adaptability in maintaining their competitive edge before bringing up the issue of buying new farmlands as also explain the purpose of the Gaming studio and also assured them that the gaming studio wasn't a part of their investment so they could sit tight and not bother about it.

At the end of the meeting session Damien didn't forget to remind them, "Remember to keep the news of the farm project under wraps we don't want competitions finding out."

After the meeting, Damien returned to his room, feeling confident about his plan. He had just settled into his chair when Claudia spoke up.

"Mrs. Hastings has sent the data on the aspiring gamers from the orphanage," she informed him.

"Perfect. Let's take a look," Damien said, opening the file on his device.

The data included detailed profiles of the children, highlighting their gaming skills, interests, and achievements. Damien was impressed by the level of talent and passion these young gamers exhibited.

"Claudia, let's start sorting this data. I want to focus on the top candidates who show the most potential," Damien said.

"Understood. Beginning analysis now," Claudia replied.

As Claudia worked on the data, Damien stood up and moved towards his gaming room, ' I guess it is time to get back to the gam... Origin.'
