A toy truck that was supposed to be armored complete with bulletproof glass and reinforced steel. I have a box full of these, a few hundred in a box.
These are my favorite toys. When I can turn them into golems I can command a fully equipped platoon. Then all the toy soldiers, weapons, equipment and most importantly their combat outfits.
I drove one of the armored truck out of the city and towards the gas station. Inside the car it smells like a new car, leather seats, control panel. I open the gas panel and threw in the mana core from before. The car engine roared to life. "Yes!! That's what I'm talking about. Woohoo.."
My truck is so powerful it pushed the other cars out of the way. This is the power of the mana core. All functions are now four times that of a normal armored vehicle.
The direction of the gas station is towards my destination. I drive there hoping to not be delayed before the sun goes down. When I finally make it there it is still mid day.
There is an eerie silence in the gas station. I can't wait to get my hands on those sophisticated armored toy cars with a scanning function. It would tell me how many enemies we are facing right now.
I still can't make golems they could bring out the gas without any problems. But my mental power is still not strong enough for that.
Golems need to take instructions from me do even if I feed them mana core I will still need to mentally monitor them incase something happens.
This place is creepy. I look at the gas station store and there are blood stains on the windows. In the zombie apocalypse there are humans in places like these but this time the enemy is too sinister, a natural hunter.
I go where the trucks are packed there are 9 but only 5 are fully loaded. I miniaturized them both and put them in my space before going towards the warehouse. Yes, if I use my power on a container all its contents will also be miniaturized unless there is something alive inside.
When I find the warehouse with all the nice things sold in the gas station store, I find something disturbing about the place.
There are humans in there. Should I turn back? I don't really need food anymore so..
Turning back I see three crawlers coming my way. Yep, got to go.
But they are at the door. There's no time to waste, pulled a few grenades and tossed them after removing the pins. The door way curved and collapsed with the explosion.
I crawled outside but one followed me. This time I hurt my leg. The stance is too unstable but when a bloody head popped out from the fallen wall I stabbed it clean but this is not enough to kill the fucker.
I stepped back to let it come at me in the blazing sun. My leg is broken I am sure but being an awakener I know it will be healed in a week. I just need to survive this.
The heavy wall on its back seemed light as feather as it managed to shake it off and pounced at me but this time I have a slightly heavier blade. With all my strength I swung it horizontally cutting it in half.
It still crawled toward my leg but I am now leaning on my fantasy sword breathing heavily.
Out of no where a bullet exploded the head of the creature and I fell back with a sword in my hand. A man wearing a suit came out from the corner pointing a gun at me. The thing in front of me is still moving its arms grasping.
I change my weapon and take out a dagger plunging it in the heart from the back and taking out the mana core. The second ones chest caved in I just had to take out the nana ore but I couldn't find the last one.
I stood up a started pulling out my pants. There is no way I can get to the wound through bulletproof material.
The man who had shot the ghoul before only gave me a glance. I am annoyed because I recognize him as one of Lu Pei's bodyguards. He went back and left a person in destress. 'Hmpt' The fish rots from the head.
I take out my pants and blood gushed out from the open wound with a protruding hipbone. "Fuck! That hurts like a mother!"
I take out the several boxes with many vials of colorful potions inside. I take out a colorless vial and gulped it down. Then I take care of the bleed and bandaged my leg after applying the purple paste.
When I raised my head from the hard work I come face to face with a pair of cold black eyes. "I haven't seen you in a long time, you seem to have discovered new thing?" There is lightness in the tone but I am not in the mood for this man. I am in a lot of pain.
I used the sword in its sheath to stand up and with a mental command I call my car to my position. I had fed it a mana core, it can do magical things. It opened the door and I got in without saying a word to the man who is looking at the highly armored vehicle.
"Are you going to ignore me now? That's very rude." Lu Pei said walking to stop me from closing the door. I can't exact too much strength so I just wait.
"Did something happen to make you so hostile towards me?" He asked with a low voice and a frown on his face. I massage my eyebrows in exhaustion.
"I am not hostile I just don't want to me mistaken for what I am not. All I am is a substitute right? The real thing is here now so why be entangled with little old me?" I look at him with tired eyes.
His expression changed many times in a moment. "Are you mad that I said someone else's name in bed that time? What we had was transactional to begin with so there is no need for this hostility right?" Ah yes, it wouldn't be Lu Pei if he doesn't find a way to belittle my genuine affection for him by calling me a prostitute.
"Sigh... A scumbag will always be a scumbag." I decided to start the car and drive away. If he is knocked away it will be his fault.
But I underestimated this man's will. He opened the back seat and jumped in. "So I am right about you holding a grudge against such a small thing. Still so petty."
"If you know our relations were transactional then why are you showing your face to me so often like you want a petting? Your money is useless to me now and I have no need for it. You don't have a need for me too since your sweet nephew is back in the country."
"So why are you bothering with me so much? Initially we come from different worlds and should have nothing to do with each other. Why are you bothering me?" I ask with annoyance.
"What do you want?" I asked coolly.
"How did you learn to swing a sword like that?" He had been coming towards an explosion side when he saw a man swing a beautifully made sword cutting a ghoul in half.
The most amazing scene of a man holding a sword he has ever seen. Having fought those monsters all night he knows first hand how strong their bodies are.
That one move kill can either be because this young man is very powerful or the sword is very powerful. Either way the stance and the actions don't seem to be from an amateur.
"I watched movies."
"My nephew has a healing ability, perhaps he can help you." Lu Pei was a soldier once but he doesn't know how can a civilian endure such pain.
"No thank you. I just need to rest and I will be fine." I said but tears are coming out of my eyes. He can't see them because of the mask.
Now I am huffing because of the pain, and the mental drain from forcefully controlling my vehicle at that time.
The car continues to drive the path of the suburban neighborhood I was heading. "Where are you going?" Lu Pei asked as he closed his eyes to rest.
"You are in a car you don't know where its going?" I mused.
"We are currently in Humin Avenue. I was kidnapped many times as a child so I learned to recognize the direction while bound and blindfolded." He said lightly.
"Impressive." My leg is getting worse from being used while still injured "Is there a place I can use as a temporary home here?" I touch the screen and three places are showing.
"This one its closets."
"There are three vampires and two fully fledged ghouls in this one." The car said showing me red dots and black dots.
"Anywhere empty?" I ask but the car shows me a place too far from the road.
"I will just sleep in the car. You leave." I say to the silent man on the back seat.
"You would abandon me in the middle of a sunset?"
"There are three cars following us belonging to Lu corporation." That is the car responding. I laughed when his expression is to glare at the car.
"Please leave I need leg room." Fine but don't drive away." He got out. I breath a sigh of relief and make space to sleep after locking the car. At night something hissing sounded by the side of my window but I ignored it.
In the morning I saw that Lu Pei's group is no where to be found. They probably couldn't withstand the vampires at night. Their cars are not customized like mine.
I continued driving and because of the many cars on the road I has to sleep on the road three more nights before I reached the area. I saw the many houses and the one where the garden is obvious with bright colored grass.
The mana is separated into many types and elements and in that garden there's all kinds of mana grass. This is why they are special and can grow an army of powerhouses in a short time.
I didn't waste time taking it all away. I even dug up the soil that can grow such special plants into a part of the space. As soon as I came out of my space, the mark on my hand that only I could see disappeared.
I am not panicked by this because it is the same as what happened to the jade ring in Lu Aang's hand when it upgrades. Now that I am here, I am wondering if I should go and uproot the weapons factory that the three factions will join hands to ransack a while from now.
First I am curious why this place can grow such precious resources. My leg is still tender because I have been forced to seat up driving but it is healing itself nicely.
I started digging in the garden. By the time the sun came up a large wooden box is now dug up. I am hoping it is not a human skeleton or a sleeping creature from the blood clan.
The thing has trinkets, books and a large stack of high level mana stone with several colors. These are probably why the stack of grass was growing here. It is definitely high level mana stones. Mana stones can be used to enforce spells, artifacts and they can be absorbed if they correspond to your elements to increase your power.
It is almost sunset so I pulled the box inside the house with the two dead bodies. I simply miniaturized the box once inside the house in case someone is watching me.
I put it in my pocket near my chest and then buried the two old people in the garden side by side. I finished burying them just in time for the night.
Locking the doors after thoroughly checking for any vampires and ghouls. I am taking a nice sleep after such a long time sleeping in a car.
I got more than I could hope for here today. In the novel, Lu Aang only took the grass and didn't have tine to question its existence. Lu Aang is someone whom good things always happen for no reason.
Rather than question it, he probably accepts that luck is on his side.
Just as I am meditating, a noise came from outside it sounds like many people. Luckily I had locked the doors from inside and even put a heavy door on each entrance.
There is noise for a while and then silence for the rest of the night. I eagerly anticipate the upgrade of my space. I m also choosing to rest here until I am fully recovered.
I made breakfast for myself in the morning and ate it with relish. Then I came out for some air only to find that the weather is gloomy and overcast. There is no sunlight to enjoy, a bad feeling enveloped me in an instant.
Then I saw it, a group of crawlers headed this way from the bushes near by. I can not take them on by myself so I took out several grenades and threw them towards the group. The grass and soil rose up into the air in an explosion. For a while I couldn't see the whereabouts of the group.
Soon enough they showed themselves. I took out the same sword and swung it true. A ghoul's head separated from it's neck. Another is cut from the shoulder, I stabbed and sidestepped, dodged and swung my sword cutting off another one.
Six seven eight crawlers laid dead no the ground. I pulled out the mana cores and got back into the house. As soon as it quieted down outside, the neighbors came out and became stunned at the scene of several dead ghouls on the ground.
Looks like someone likes to use explosives to fight against the ghouls. Lu Pei and his group think they found Mikel. Inside the house, Mikel sees the mark for the bracelet is beck he doesn't waist time entering the space.
