Chapter 16 - 16

"Nine Layers of Thunder Knife!" Wei Wen responded.

Zhou Zhengyong's mouth twitched in concern. "Did you use up all your free cheat credits?"

"If you still have any left, I'd recommend getting a simpler cheat book."

"The quota is gone," Wei Wen said, shaking his head slightly. "What I bought were the first five layers of the Nine Layers Thunder Sword."

"Ah!" Zhou Zhengyong sighed. "If I'd known, I would have told you earlier. I can only hope your comprehension is strong enough to improve rapidly within a month."

"Do you think you can reach the first or even second level of the Nine Layers Thunder Sword within a month?"

He could tell from Wei Wen's ability to comprehend micro-level movements during the quasi-martial artist examination that his understanding was remarkable. However, the difficulty of the Nine Layers Thunder Sword's secret manual was just as terrifying. Many warriors spend their entire lives unable to reach the first level.

But Wei Wen had to reach at least the first level this month if he hoped to secure a spot in the elite training camp.

Wei Wen, however, knew better than anyone what kind of talent he truly had.

When his cultivation skills and comprehension fell short, he would usually rely on system feedback.

Still, Wei Wen firmly believed that as Luo Feng grew step by step and gained new opportunities, Wei Wen would also enhance his own talent and understanding through system feedback. There would be plenty of time to work harder when that happened.

"I just practiced the Nine Layers Thunder Sword, and honestly, I don't think it's too difficult. Reaching the first level in a month shouldn't be a problem," Wei Wen said after a brief silence.

First, after Luo Feng purchased the Nine Layers Thunder Sword, it took him just over a month to reach the first level.

According to the rules of system feedback, Wei Wen believed he could reach at least the second level within the same time, and the first level would be easy to achieve in a month.

Second, after the Nine Layers Thunder Sword secret manual was optimized, mastering the correct technique became easier, reducing the difficulty of practice significantly.

Even if Wei Wen didn't teach Luo Feng the optimized version or rely on system feedback, he was confident that he could reach the first level of the Nine Layers Thunder Sword within a little over a month.

If he taught Luo Feng the optimized Nine Layers Thunder Sword and sped up Luo Feng's progress, the system's feedback would become even more exaggerated.

If Wei Wen pushed himself, reaching the first level in a month would be easy. He might even reach the optimized third level.

"You sound pretty confident. I hope your potential matches your words," Zhou Zhengyong said with a hint of expectation.

"In addition, you've officially joined the headquarters training camp, which begins at the end of August. Have you thought about how to prepare yourself until then?"

"Work hard and practice harder," Wei Wen replied seriously, though it sounded obvious.

"Hard training is essential for any warrior, but real combat experience is just as important," Zhou Zhengyong added after a moment of silence. "You've been recommended by our Extreme Martial Arts School ahead of time and became a warrior without undergoing the actual combat assessment. However, this also means you missed an opportunity to hone your willpower."

Zhou Zhengyong's demeanor shifted as his body radiated a unique aura.

As a warrior who had emerged from battles filled with blood and corpses, his willpower was unmatched by Wei Wen's.

Even though it was just Zhou Zhengyong's three-dimensional projection, Wei Wen could still feel the invisible pressure from him.

"No wonder the pressure of immortals in the virtual universe can make star-level geniuses feel powerless," Wei Wen thought, shocked.

A clear realization arose in Wei Wen's heart. Although the lying flat system had helped him become a genius in the eyes of others, he knew deep down that he lacked real combat experience and training.

As a warrior, if you haven't experienced true battle, can you really call yourself a warrior?

Even after joining the training camp, he would still need to venture out regularly to hunt monsters. If possible, it would be best to adapt to fighting monsters as soon as possible.

"Your talent is decent," Zhou Zhengyong continued, "but you're still a novice martial artist. You can't compare to those geniuses who have undergone rigorous training and cultivation. I'm afraid it will be challenging to adjust to the environment there."

"So, before you head to the training camp, I'm going to arrange for a team of elite warriors to take you outside the base city. You'll gain real combat experience."

"No problem," Wei Wen replied without hesitation after considering it.

"The warrior team will return the day after tomorrow. You should prepare in advance. That day, you and the team will set off for the wilderness to train."

"You?" Wei Wen was surprised.

"Yes, you and Luo Feng. Given your talents, I'm confident that both of you can at least make it into the basic training camp," Zhou Zhengyong explained. "With effort and talent, you could even try for the elite camp."

Wei Wen smiled when he heard that Luo Feng would be going too.

The faster Luo Feng grew, the better it would be for Wei Wen.

From Zhou Zhengyong's perspective, Luo Feng might only qualify for the basic training camp. But if both Wei Wen and Luo Feng were to join the elite camp, it would undoubtedly leave Zhou Zhengyong astonished.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Luo Feng received a call from Zhuge Tao, informing him that he had been selected for the headquarters training camp. However, Luo Feng wasn't entirely happy about it.

If one were to think carefully about why Luo Feng didn't want to reveal his identity as a spiritual master, the reason would become clear. He didn't want to attract too much attention.

Once it was known that he was a spiritual master, he would no longer be able to live a peaceful life.

Especially since, as a newly minted warrior, Luo Feng had spent time reading many posts on the 'Extreme House' forum. From these, he concluded that it was better to keep his spiritual master identity a secret.

Spiritual masters were highly sought after, treated as trump cards by any organization or force.

The mere presence of a spiritual master could trigger intense competition among different groups and powerful figures.

This would thrust him into the spotlight. Though he might gain certain privileges, his life as an ordinary warrior would be over.

Even though Luo Feng had already joined the Extreme Martial Arts School, once his identity was revealed, he would undoubtedly become a key training target.

He would be sent to the global headquarters of the Extreme Martial Arts School and receive excellent training, but... he wouldn't be able to maintain his peaceful life. He wouldn't get to spend much time with his family anymore.

However, when Luo Feng considered that Wei Wen's progress would accelerate at the headquarters training camp, he too began to entertain the idea of going there.

Zhuge Tao's projection looked at Luo Feng with a hint of concern, "You seem a bit uncertain. Do you have any questions?"

Luo Feng didn't hesitate. "After joining the training camp, when will I be able to return home?"

"There are breaks in January and February each year. You'll be able to return during those holidays," Zhuge Tao explained. "Of course, if you meet the graduation standards earlier, you can graduate and go home ahead of schedule."

Hearing this, Luo Feng felt a sense of relief. Knowing he could return eased his concerns.

After ending the call, Luo Feng focused on practicing the Nine-layer Thunder Sword.

Unfortunately, despite his efforts, he still hadn't mastered even the first level of the technique.

"The Nine-layer Thunder Sword really is an ultimate secret manual, but it's incredibly difficult to practice. I still can't generate that burst of dark force instantly," Luo Feng thought with a sigh.

He marveled at the thought of mastering the more advanced levels. "It's hard to imagine how the dark power in the final levels of the Nine-layer Thunder Sword is supposed to be unleashed."

Even though Luo Feng was making some progress in understanding the sword technique, he couldn't figure out a solution to advance.

At that point, he thought of Wei Wen. It was rumored that Wei Wen had also purchased the Nine-layer Thunder Sword. Maybe Wei Wen had managed to cultivate it by now.

Since Wei Wen seemed to have a higher level of comprehension than himself, Luo Feng decided to seek his advice. It wouldn't hurt to hear Wei Wen's insights on both the sword technique and his thoughts on joining the training camp.
