**CHAPTER 15**
The next morning, the sun shone brightly, casting its warm light over the village. Ryuga woke up from his sleep, his body well-rested and mind alert. After a quick breakfast and a refreshing bath, he donned his school attire and prepared to leave for school, his routine as seamless as ever.
As Ryuga made his way through the streets, he noticed an unusual buzz in the air. Groups of villagers gathered in hushed yet animated discussions, their expressions ranging from fear to intrigue. Curious, Ryuga slowed his pace and began to eavesdrop on their conversations.
"Hey, did you hear? Last night, the Uchiha clan was massacred!" a woman whispered urgently to her companion.
"What? All of them? By who?" the other asked in disbelief.
"It wasn't by someone unknown. It was Itachi Uchiha—his own brother, the first son of their clan leader," the woman replied grimly.
"You mean *that* Itachi? The genius who graduated early and became an elite ninja at just 14?" someone else chimed in.
"Yes, and not just any elite ninja—he was part of the ANBU," a man added, his voice tinged with unease.
"How could he do that? He even killed his own parents?" the first woman exclaimed, shaking her head.
"And he burned their bodies—left nothing but ashes behind. It's horrifying," another muttered.
"Apparently, only one child survived. He's in the hospital now," someone mentioned, their voice softer.
"Well, good riddance to the Uchiha clan. They were the ones responsible for the Nine-Tails attack nine years ago," an older man interjected with bitterness. "Using their Sharingan to control the beast… They deserved this."
"Yeah, so many of us lost loved ones in that attack," another agreed. "We even lost the Fourth Hokage because of them. It's justice, if you ask me."
As Ryuga continued listening, he noted the conflicting emotions in the villagers' conversations. Some were openly relieved, feeling the Uchiha clan's downfall was deserved, while others expressed fear of Itachi and speculated about his motives. Some worried he might return to destroy the entire village, while others dismissed such ideas as baseless rumors.
The village's atmosphere was heavy with tension and unease, yet Ryuga maintained his calm demeanor, absorbing the information as he walked to school.
---
Upon arriving at the academy, Ryuga entered his classroom and took his usual seat. The chatter among his classmates mirrored what he had heard outside. The Uchiha massacre was the sole topic of discussion, but the children's versions of the story were far more exaggerated. Some claimed a demon was responsible, while others concocted wild theories about Itachi's betrayal.
Ryuga let his Byakugan activate subtly as he observed his classmates. His gaze lingered momentarily on Isagi, his suspicions about the boy strengthening. Ryuga had long harbored the belief that Isagi was another reincarnated individual, someone who, like him, possessed cheat-like abilities or perhaps even a system of his own. With his Byakugan active, Ryuga confirmed that suspicion. The faint traces of an unusual energy emanating from Isagi were unmistakable.
However, he didn't dwell on the revelation. Ryuga continued his silent observations, treating the moment like any other day at school.
---
Ten minutes later, Iruka-sensei entered the classroom, calling the students to attention. The lessons for the day began, and Ryuga allowed himself to settle into the flow of the class. Morning turned to afternoon, and soon it was time for the last lesson of the day.
Iruka stood at the front of the class, addressing the elephant in the room. "I'm sure most of you have heard about the Uchiha clan massacre. Some of you asked me earlier about Sasuke Uchiha, so I spoke with the Hokage. Sasuke is alive and currently recovering in the hospital. There's no need to worry."
A collective sigh of relief spread among the students, particularly those who idolized Sasuke. Whispers broke out, many students expressing a desire to visit him at the hospital. Others murmured sympathetically about his tragic circumstances, speculating on how he would cope with losing his family and becoming an orphan.
Ryuga, curious about others' perspectives, approached Shikamaru as the students prepared to leave for the day. "What do you think about the massacre?" Ryuga asked casually, flipping a kunai between his fingers.
Shikamaru shrugged, his usual laziness evident. "My dad says Sasuke's fine and should be back in a few days."
"What about Itachi?" Ryuga pressed, hoping for some insight from Shikamaru's father, who worked closely with the Hokage.
"Something about sending elite teams to track him down," Shikamaru said dismissively. "Honestly, I fell asleep halfway through his explanation. Too troublesome to keep up with his work."
Ryuga chuckled at Shikamaru's response but soon excused himself. As evening approached, he decided to visit the hospital to see Sasuke for himself. His interest wasn't rooted in concern but in curiosity. He wanted to observe the reincarnation of Indra and confirm whether Sasuke had awakened his Sharingan during the ordeal.
---
Ryuga arrived at the hospital within minutes. Using his Byakugan, he pinpointed Sasuke's chakra signature on the second floor and made his way to the room. Without knocking, he opened the door and stepped inside, his confidence unwavering.
The room was dimly lit, and Sasuke sat on the bed with his head lowered, his posture radiating despair.
Ryuga smirked. "Hmm, what a sight. The great Sasuke Uchiha sulking in the dark. How fitting."
Sasuke raised his head slowly, his hollow eyes and blank expression meeting Ryuga's gaze. His voice was low, almost lifeless. "Why are you here, Ryuga?"
Ryuga leaned casually against the doorframe, his tone mocking. "Oh, isn't it obvious? I came to see the aftermath of the mighty Uchiha clan's downfall. How does it feel, Sasuke? Betrayed by your own brother? Your entire clan reduced to ashes?"
Anger flickered in Sasuke's empty eyes as Ryuga's words struck a nerve. Ryuga pressed on, his voice dripping with disdain. "Your beloved brother, Itachi Uchiha, slaughtered your family, burned their bodies to nothing but ash. And you… what's left of you? A pitiful boy wallowing in self-pity."
"He's not my brother," Sasuke spat, his voice trembling with fury. "Don't ever mention his name in front of me. I'll kill him. I'll avenge my clan and restore it."
Ryuga burst into laughter, his voice echoing through the room. "You? Kill Itachi? That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. Do you even know who your brother is? What he's capable of? He's not just a genius; he's a monster. He's stronger than any Uchiha in generations—probably stronger than the Hokage himself. And you think you can take him down? Don't make me laugh."
Sasuke's fists clenched, his body trembling with rage. But Ryuga wasn't done. His mocking tone sharpened further. "Oh, but reviving your clan—that might be possible. Girls already swoon over your looks and cold attitude. It won't be hard to find someone to bear your children."
Ryuga paused, a wicked smirk playing on his lips as Sasuke's anger boiled over. "Your parents would be so proud of you, wouldn't they? Their second son, the one they thought useless, restoring the clan. Too bad they couldn't handle their firstborn—their precious genius who turned into a murderer. What a disgrace."
That was the final straw. Sasuke lunged at Ryuga with a feral shout, his newly awakened one-tomoe Sharingan glowing in his eyes. His fist shot forward, aimed directly at Ryuga's smirking face. But just as his attack neared, his arm twisted unnaturally, bones snapping audibly. Sasuke screamed in agony as his other arm followed suit, breaking in the same grotesque manner. His legs crumpled beneath him, twisted and broken, leaving him writhing on the floor.
Ryuga stood unmoving, a cruel smile on his face. Sasuke's body was being torn apart by Ryuga's will alone, his power exerted without even lifting a finger.
"Pathetic," Ryuga muttered, watching Sasuke writhe in pain. After a moment, he stepped forward and delivered a brutal kick to Sasuke's head, smashing it against the wall. The sound of bone cracking was the last thing Sasuke heard before darkness consumed him.
