Chereads / Floating Islands: SSS Gacha System / Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - The Emblem of Luck

Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 - The Emblem of Luck

Atlas opened the system interface to design the emblem for his Floating Island. He was pleasantly surprised by how easy the system made it—he could give commands, and the system would generate some elements for his design.

He spent some time tweaking and adjusting the emblem. He wanted to capture the essence of gacha in the design, but struggled at first to define what that meant visually. Eventually, he settled on placing the silhouette of a dice in the center, symbolizing chance and luck, surrounded by a futuristic portal design to give it a modern, mystical touch.

Satisfied with the result, he pressed the Complete button.

Next, he moved on to the attire design, combining the emblem with the overall outfit concept. He crafted a Lord's outfit with a long, flowing cape bearing the emblem on the back, and developed variations for workers and soldiers on the island.

Once everything was finalized, he pressed the finish button.

[Task: Assign new name for the island—Complete.]

[Gacha Haven is now your official name and identity.]

Atlas smiled in satisfaction as everything fell into place. His main strength lay in summoning powerful Lords from other worlds to serve as his subordinates—three already at this early stage, with the potential for many more. And the gacha system didn't just summon allies; it also provided unique items like the Aqua Crystal, Floating Lanterns, and even a Self-replenishing Fridge. All of that came from just 30 tickets out of the 300 he'd been given for this early phase.

[Task: Design your Emblem—Complete.]

[Task: Setup the attires for the island's inhabitants—Complete.]

[You have received a full set of Lord's attire.]

[You have received a Lord's Cape.]

[Every subordinate, current and future, will receive attire customized to match their role and personality.]

As if conjured from thin air, several folds of fabric appeared before Atlas. He reached out and touched the material—it was incredibly soft and luxurious.

Edrik and Karian received similar clothing. Edrik's outfit resembled an executive suit, very much like what he already wore, but with subtle, refined differences in the design. Karian also received his designated attire, similar to Edrik's though Atlas still felt Karian looked more suited to his current armor.

Surprisingly, the outfit they received from the system came with an automatic equip feature. All they had to do was issue a command, and—boom—the clothes they were wearing instantly switched to the new ones.

Atlas glanced down, now dressed in an outfit that was mostly white, with deep blue lines tracing patterns across it. The cape he wore was also white, bearing the emblem of Gacha Haven they all shared.

He then looked over at Edrik and Karian, who had also changed into their new appearances, though Karian's transformation was by far the most striking. But where had their previous outfits gone?

"My Lord, we really like the design of the emblem and the outfits too. They're fresh and really eye-catching," Edrik said.

"I'm curious—where did your old outfits go? And Karian, what about your greatsword?"

"We were summoned with our Storage Space still intact, My Lord. Though, it isn't quite as large as it was just before I was summoned," Karian explained.

"Ah, I see. So that's why Morganna's scythe disappeared right after I handed it to her."

Atlas scanned through the various new structures that could be built and checked which ones already had enough materials. One structure could be built immediately: the Teleportation Pad. However, he needed to be certain this was the right choice before proceeding.

Luckily, he had experienced people by his side—people who had already built their own Floating Islands. He definitely intended to use their knowledge to avoid any early mistakes.

"Now tell me, what's the best thing to build after the Fortress?" Atlas asked, turning his gaze to Karian. "I want to hear from you first, Karian."

"My Lord," Karian bowed respectfully. "Resources are crucial for developing the land, and there are different types. Some can be gathered directly using structures like a Lumber Mill and others, but we also need the resources dropped by monsters, which are just as important."

Atlas nodded as he laid out the structures that were currently available for building.

"My Lord," Edrik spoke up, "I believe the Teleportation Pad should be our next structure. It will allow us to travel to the lower lands and explore nearby floating islands, which is vital for gathering resources, monster hunting, or going on dungeon expeditions."

[Teleportation Pad: Enables travel between nearby floating islands and the lower lands. Provides an early-phase solution for accessing resource-rich regions or trading with settlements in the lower lands.]

[Materials Needed:]

[20 Mana Crystals]

[50 Iron]

[5 Elemental Stones]

"Agreed," Atlas responded with a smile. "Jackpot. Let's build the Teleportation Pad."

[You have spent 20 Mana Crystals, 50 Units of Iron, 5 Elemental Stones to build Teleportation Pad]

[The building process will take 4 hours.]

Four hours was plenty of time for Atlas to prepare. He planned to pull more gacha and see what he could easily obtain during this early phase of the game.

After his experience summoning Morganna, he had learned a valuable lesson: the people he summoned weren't just personalities he could command at will. Sure, they would follow his orders, but they had their own desires, lives, and complexities, just like him. So, treating them wellmostly with respectwas key to bringing out their optimal performance.

Edrik was sharp with his words and reliable during discussions. Karian, though a warrior, had yet to show what he was truly capable of in battle. And Morganna? She had incredible combat potential, but her strong-willed and volatile personality posed quite a challenge in leading her.

And what exactly happened between them last night?! Atlas shook off the thought, unwilling to get distracted.

Refocusing on the gacha banners, he considered his next move. The first banner had already landed him Morganna as an exclusive character—what could he pull next to bolster his team further?

Wait!

"Jackpot, tell me, what happens if I pull from the Exclusive Character banner and end up getting Morganna again? Will there be two Morgannas running around here?"

[Host, a character can be upgraded up to 6 times. Let's say your first pull gives you the character at their Zero Upgrade. Each duplicate pull will enhance them in several aspects.]

"And what if I've already maxed them out, but I keep pulling the same character?"

[In that case, you'll receive Arcane Shards as compensation.]

"And what exactly are Arcane Shards? I got some as a reward for building my Fortress."

[Arcane Shards are a currency used to buy Gacha Tickets. The price for both exclusive and standard tickets is the same: 160 Arcane Shards. You can earn this currency by completing tasks, winning battles, hunting, and achieving various milestones and activities in the Floating Islands.]

[Essentially, as long as you keep progressing and staying active, you'll have a steady supply of Arcane Shards to keep purchasing more Gacha Tickets and pulling to strengthen yourself further.]

"160 for one ticket, huh? Interesting."

While waiting for the Teleportation Pad to finish building, Atlas decided to do another round of pulls. But the question lingered in his mind—which banner should he pull from?

He had been extremely lucky, managing to get Morganna within just 10 pulls, and even her signature weapon after 20 more. Now, he still had 70 exclusive tickets left. While he knew his current version of Morganna was already powerful, he debated whether to spend the tickets for her upgrades or hold out for the next rate-up of exclusive characters.

As for weapons, he was content, having already secured Morganna's signature scythe, the Vampire Queen's iconic weapon. No need to burn through his remaining tickets on that front.

Now, his thoughts shifted to the standard banner. He knew he had a chance to get one of the five featured characters on the banner, along with their signature weapons—all available in a single banner. With 200 pulls ahead of him, there was hope of expanding his team or landing one of the featured weapons. Surprisingly, a spear was among the options, and as a spear-user, Atlas found that particularly tempting.

"Now, tell me, Jackpot. Which is better—using all 200 tickets at once, or…?"

[Pulling all 200 at once will provide significant upgrades in one go. However… there's something important you should know.]

"And what's that?" Atlas asked, intrigued.

[The gacha items and levels evolve based on your situation and condition. For instance, pulling an S-character at level 50 versus pulling the same at level 200 will result in better stats and skills for higher levels.]

"But levels can be reached easily," Atlas countered.

[True. However, there's also a 10% chance the gacha will adapt to what you specifically need at that moment.]

"So, it's better to use the standard tickets gradually?"

[The impact isn't massive, but yes, pulling gradually would be slightly better overall.]

"Thanks for the answer," Atlas said with a nod.

Taking out 10 standard tickets, Atlas smiled as he tossed them into the air.

Edrik and Karian, intrigued, watched with anticipation.

The first ticket shimmered as it descended—brown. The next one—brown again. Then another. Brown, brown, brown.

Seven brown.

But then, unexpectedly, the eighth ticket glowed purple! And then—another purple! And yet another purple!

[You have obtained 7 Rank-B items, 3 Rank-A items!]
