Chapter Sixty-Five: The beginning of the journey at the end of life (2)
Pain… an ache, a bodily suffering, an unpleasant sensation… and a familiar feeling. Ever since his coming into the trial, pain had been Dusken's most felt sensation.
The wounds from the level one creature back at the Neverending Desert. The wounds dealt to him by Ashahell. The pain of perseverance while reaching the god's palace. The pain of the hall itself and finally… those in the trial.
He couldn't say them all, but the battle of beastmen inside the inheritance, then the war of two nations… and now. There was no escaping it, and so, currently, due to the trial, his pain tolerance was at a level beyond even his past life.
However, what was the need to bear it? What was the need to persevere? Why… shouldn't he just give up? There were no answers to these questions, simply because, right under his eyes, his skin was peeling off. The pain he felt… was simply indescribable.
