There was deathly silence as reality came undone on the battlefield. Layers after layers of illusions shattered like glass as a whole new place was unveiled before everyone.
Dusken stood frozen, his breath ragged as he observed the undeniable truth unfolding before his eyes.
As the veils of deception fell apart, more weary soldiers were revealed, their armour battered and filled with dents, causing the multiplication of the army.
Dusken saw Lillian, Witch Madonna and the other candidates, their robes all dyed in blood like they had all experienced nightmares.
'An illusion. It was all an illusion,' this realization struck him like a hammer, making Dusken's gaze grow cold.
'I fought alongside them on the same battlefield, but I sensed nothing,' he exhaled shakily, realising that his future was bleak.
