Chapter Twenty-Eight: DeathNote {BONUS CHAPTER}
[You have received a DeathNote.]
On hearing the words of the Codex, Dusken felt an unknown emotion welling up inside of him.
'A DeathNote?' He didn't know what this was, but something told him and it was not to be looked down upon.
He summoned his scroll script.

'T-this' He squinted. Before killing the hairy mind, he only possessed 30 abysmal points, but now it had doubled.
His eyes blazed; if he wasn't wrong, his hairy mind out was a race of creatures. Once he hunted them down, his strength would increase rapidly.
He was already disadvantaged since he needed these so-called Abysmal points and not exp.
However, his strength was not to be underestimated; due to this abysmal point, his strength was abnormal for a level one.
'So many things to think about.'
Letting out a silent sigh, his gaze swept the battlefield. A chaotic mess could not describe what he saw.
The light of the setting sunset shone upon the devastated area. The broken tree trunk, the smell of blood that coated the dusty air, the chaotic winds that blew the area and the pressure felt from them.
Lillian stood with an expressionless face, observing him like he was some kind of toy that she couldn't remember.
Dusken didn't mind this much; this was how she stared at him during their first meeting, after all.
Shaking his head slightly, he stretched his right hand forward, willing for the death note to be summoned.
Dark light flew out of his chest, beginning to swirl around his hand, flickering like fireflies and flying like sentient beings.
Soon after, a small black paper appeared in his hand. His soul script suddenly popped up in front of him.
[Imbue a name]
The corner of Dusken's mouth twitched slightly.
'What's the use of a name?' He thought, without paying heed to the words of his soul script.
He opened the black paper, only to see it empty. No designs like a scroll, no drawings like a card, just nothing but a piece of plain, black paper.
He blinked, his eyes glinting as he fell deep in thoughts.
'Don't tell me that before I can use the death note, I have to name it.' Dusken thought weirdly; if that was the only way to use the death note, names were the things that he didn't lack.
Using memories from his previous life, he came up with names after names. Although he could just give a name and get it over with, he still had that selfish feeling within him to make the name grand.
'John, no, too common and it's a human name; giving it to a paper wouldn't be right. James, same reason. Joel, argh, too many human names'
Then another time.
'Cow, that's a name for animals, not too good. Blacker, nah~, too bland. Drac, that's a name for vampires, I don't need it for a paper. Ebon, hmm, interesting, the paper is black so Ebon fits it.'
Dusken let out a satisfied sigh, he knew that his naming sense was, well, not too good, but still…
"Ebon." He muttered under his breath. Suddenly, the words on the screen twisted and changed.
[Death guard has been named.]
Then the soul script vanished as red words began appearing on the black paper.
'What the fuck is a death guard? I thought this was a DeathNote?' These questions brushed his mind as red words appeared on the paper.
His gaze moved to the paper, this was the only thing that could answer his question currently.
The words written on the paper made him widen his eyes in shock. He couldn't help but blurt out what he saw:
"I, an Abyssal Star request the authority of an Abyssal Demon." Immediately, the surroundings darkened as clouds shrouded the radiance of the sun.
Wailing winds flew in the area as the leaves sang a rustling song, reflecting Dusken's chaotic thoughts. Taking a deep breath, he continued:
"Ebon, arise from your eternal slumber to fight for your lord." A weird scene began playing out.
The shadow of the creature he slayed had moved, rising as black smoke came out from it. However, the words on the death note weren't finished. Dusken cleared his throat and spoke the last two words:
"Wake up"
Suddenly a vague phantom appeared behind Dusken, pointing its hands outward as the shadow of the creature rose.
The death note in his hands turned to dust as it scattered in the cold winds.
"Uraaaaaa~" A voice deep as the abyss itself sounded from the creature's shadow like it was being brought from the underworld.
Black flames appeared on it as it began to take shape. By now, the winds were howling like a forbidden ritual was being practised.
The cold od winds made Dusken's nerve tense up as he subtly shivered.
The light of the sun had been shrouded, making the area look like it was night. Under Dusken's astonished stare, the shadow began to develop hands, legs and other body parts.
Soon, a complete replica of the creature he had slain was kneeling in front of him. It was inky black and its presence exuding power.
The ghostly image behind him vanished as the surroundings returned to its calm. Dusken stared at this sight with a cold light in his eyes.
'What was that speech? Who's an Abyssal Demon? Why would I need to request his authority?' These questions as well as many more resounded in his mind as he pondered.
He glanced at Lillian, and for some reason, she was calm about it. Her calmness sent alarm bells ringing in his mind.
She looked as if… as if she had seen this multiple times? He wasn't sure.
However, he looked at the creature in front of him. It was then that a sudden wave of weakness hit him like a breeze.
'T-this, I-impossible' Quickly summoning his soul script to clarify his hypothesis, his eyes burned with anguish as he gazed at a word.
[Abysmal points: [40/1000]
'It was 60; I had used twenty to raise this so-called death guard?' A sombre expression appeared on his face.
'Just hope it's what it is.' He thought while staring at the death guard - Ebon - in front of him.
Just as he was about to speak, Ebon melted into a shadow and rolled on his body.
Dusken wanted to move away, but his instincts told him not to. As soon as Ebon wrapped around his figure, a whole new world was unfolded before his eyes, causing him to take a step back in surprise.
