As soon as they stepped back into the bedroom, Ethan didn't waste a second. He turned to Charlotte, his eyes filled with regret.
Before she could even react, he gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward him, wrapping his arms around her tightly.
"I'm sorry," he murmured into her hair, his voice low and rough. "I didn't want you to see that. I didn't want you to—"
But Charlotte suddenly placed a hand on his back, rubbing it soothingly.
"Ethan," she interrupted softly. "You don't have to apologize. I understand."
He pulled back slightly, his dark eyes searching hers, as if trying to find any sign of doubt.
"Do you?" he asked, his voice almost a whisper.
"Yes, I do." Charlotte smiled gently, nodding.
Ethan exhaled heavily before leaning down to place a soft kiss on her forehead, then her cheek.
