The sun shone bright in its radiating rays. Every soul could confess that this was a good sign to start the day. Everyone within the town greeted each other warmly with love and graceful hope of good luck. One could say that the neighborliness in the town was high as everyone related to each other as a family. But even in this beautiful scenario, a soul was lonely and had no family of his own.
Othen Drex was sitting alone on a bench along the alley that connected the street of Hosdon to the railway station. He was a young man of twenty-one years with dark blue hair and was handsome enough to have as many girls as he wanted but Othen Drex was one who cared less for girls and a social life. He was one who kept to himself.
Being an orphan,Drex didn't think it was necessary to get pleasure from the cruelty of the world. He had lost his father three years ago. It was a mysterious death that couldn't be explained. His father had left home one morning and only for Drex to return from school to his dad's corpse laying comfortably on a chair in the sitting room.
As for his mom, he never saw her. He was told that she died after giving birth to him. Such cruelty to humanity. His aunt had taken care of him for only two years before passing out. She was the only person that showed him motherly love.
At school,he always failed even though he was smart enough to have good grades. He always ended up getting rubbed off his entitlement. Teachers despised him and he was a mockery to manhood. He was as weak as any weakling that ever lived.
With all these circumstances surrounding him, he thought it was unfair to be brought to a world only to end up being a ridicule. He felt he was cursed and was probably the Maker's worst creation.
Right now he was precisely reading a newspaper. He wasn't so engrossed in his reading not to notice when a young lady crossed him, to sit beside him. She was dressed in a funny way, wearing a baggy shirt and trousers. Her hair was faint red but her eyes had a sharp glint in it .
He noticed her presence but did or said nothing. He focused more on what he was reading. He felt uncomfortable that a lady was sitting next to him. He really didn't find it comfortable with girls around him anyway he would let this pass just this once.
"Mister Drex, I would like to a word with you . " the lady said with an unnatural force in her voice . She didn't give Drex a glance but looked at the void air .
Drex on his own path did not take this lightly. How on earth did she figure out his name. He did not know her from anywhere and he was sure they hadn't met until now . He Felt a tingle of uneasiness in him. He felt insecure with her presence now. He stared at her in disbelief not answering the question to that was asked.
"I said we need to talk. Its urgent." she said again. Drex didn't respond at first but he decided to inquire if she knew him from somewhere .
"How did you get to know my name? Have we met before? If we have, I don't remember you." Drex said finally but she waved off his question with two words.
"Never mind, that would not be necessary. We have to talk and its real urgent. Trust me you do not want to play your safety." she said with a tone of seriousness.
"What the f*ck is she d*mn talking about? What does she mean by my safety? She got to be nuts or else she will need the help of a psychiatrist. How did she even get to know my name? Is she some sort of secret worker or what?" Drex thought to himself. He felt unnaturally unease with her presence.
"I don't think I am going to talk with someone who gets identities of people unlawfully. You are encroaching into my civil rights.l think I will call the human rights corps." Drex said and brought out his mobile phone to make the call.
"If I were you, I would listen to the vital information I have before blabbing your loud mouth." she snapped at Drex.
For a moment there was a brief silence between them. Drex looked at the lady before him, she seemed to have a real important information to deliver to him. But on the other hand, he didn't want to risk his safety talking with someone who got informations unlawfully. But then he considered the price at hand, his safety was worth more than the risk on his safety. He decided to give a listening ear.
When the lady noticed that he was all ears , she began to speak.
"You will have to take this lightly and listen to me attentively. Some kind of weird beings are going to come after your life and..."she hadn't finished speaking before Drex freaked out in panic, bursting up in fear rather than anger .
"After my life?! You are kidding! Probably you are the one after my life!" Drex blurted in fear . He got up from the bench and made a move to leave before stopping abruptly.
"I shouldn't have made the mistake of listening to you. I shouldn't have given you a chance to speak to me. I should have called the human rights corps on you." Drex said as he drew his mobile phone from his pocket. He dialed the numbers and soon he got the human rights corps on line .
"There is this freaking lady with me and I think she has breached against my civil rights. She got my name!..." he paused for the receiver to speak.
"Why don't you take a look back to see what's after your life?" the lady said in a scary creepy voice that sent chills down Drex .
He began to turn slowly, not wanting to remove his gaze from the lady. He had a bad feeling that she was up to something.
'CRASH!!!!!'
Drex mobile phone crashed to the ground . He could not believe what he saw . It was unfathomable to speak of but one thing was a fact. IT WAS REAL AND WAS AFTER HIM.
" What the f*ck!!" Drex managed to mutter
