Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Jessica pov

I messed it up; I messed up this time, I pace in the waiting room. I don't know how I let this happen. The first task they gave me, I messed up big time, and I paced nervously, recalling the event of the morning. I woke excited, I got dressed, and I even skipped out going to the cafe, mostly because I was to focus on the task at hand and partly because I didn't want to run into that guy from yesterday, I didn't want him to ruin my day, I headed to the location, and everything was going smoothly until some man came to pick up the furniture and I allow they, they had clearance to prove it so I let they carry the furniture away, I was about to leave when another car came to pick up the furniture I was panicking now cause who the hell took the furniture, those furnitures cost more than my life what am going to do now.

I stood in front of the CEO's office I have heard so many things about like that he is a ruthless and cold-hearted person, ready to receive a termination letter and a bill or, worse, A lawsuit.'' god help me,'' I said to myself

'' Mr kai will see you now,'' the blond-haired assistant said to me

I took a deep breath and opened the door to see the CEO's chair facing the other way

'' good afternoon, sir'' I said in shaky voice

''I am really sorry, sir. I don't know; they were not the delivery people I am so sorry, sir'' I said in a blur

'' sorry, you not going to find my furniture, Miss Jessica,'' the words, calm but a deadly threat underneath and voice sounded familiar, he turned to face me, and it was him ''YOU''we both said in unison, my face pale even more when I saw him, he looks equally surprised, the guy I poured my coffee on, the rude guy from the cafe, he is my boss '' o my god could this day get worse '' I said out loud

'' worse,'' he said with a groan

'' your day is getting worse,'' he said

'' you are the one who poured your HOT coffee on me, embarrassed me, stole my croissant, and to top it off, you let a bunch of thieves steal my prized furniture ''

''I am really sorry about the furniture, I am, and I will do anything to repay, but I don't have that kind of money,'' I said

'' anything?'' he asked suspiciously, and I knew I was going to regret the next word that was going to come out of my mouth, but I had too

'' yes, anything,'' I said, bowing my head

''Marry me ''

'' what?'' I said, shocked by the words coming out of his mouth. I expected him to say I should be his slave and work the rest of my life to pay back the money, but this was insane Marrying him, a cold-blooded, arrogant man who despised me, wants me to marry him.

''I know you can not hear do you want me to write it down for you?'' he said condescendingly

''I heard you why do you want to marry after all, I am not your type,'' I said

'' it doesn't matter you owe me, and I need a wife, so we need each other, and you don't have a choice in the matter, so will you marry me, yes or yes''

I look at him I never really got the chance to look at him: brown hair, dark eyes, a sharp jawline, big arms, and the way he fills out that suit he was a very attractive man to most women, but I didn't like him he makes me angry, and he was right I hadn't a choice in the situation, and I hate that he was right

'' yes ''

''good girl '' he said smirked

'' don't call me that'' i said feel frustrated

''I can call you whatever I want you are mine now,'' he said

'' you do not own me,'' I said angrily

''I do, you need to understand that now''

I wanted to say something, but he cut me off.'' I will have my lawyer draw up a contract and come to my office tomorrow, and you will sign it now and leave my office''

'' is this how to talk to your future wife '' I said

'' you mean nothing to me don't let this contact marriage fool you into believing that we will fall in love and live happily ever after ''

'' on like all the delusional women that gush around you, I am more realistic. This is a contract marriage I am using to pay off my debt. I expect nothing from you, and you should expect nothing from me ''

'' deal '' i said

'' deal,'' he said. He brought his hand to shake us, and I accepted his hand it was strong, but I was unwavering and looked into his eye those eyes stuck me into a snowstorm, but I was so entangled in that eye

'' good,'' I said, and I walked out of his office without a word.

later at the pub, I made Zara promise not to tell anyone at the offices

''I can't believe you are going to be marrying the freak CEO of Xavier and co after the whole furniture situation,'' she said

'' lower your voice, Zara someone might hear you,'' I said in a low tone

'' i am sorry '' she said

''I don't know what to do, Zara, I am not ready to get married,'' I said marriage was the last time on my mind, right?

''I know that is not a girl's dream proposal or wedding, especially not to a man like Kai Xavier, he is the opposite of romantic, he is heartless and terrifying. I can imagine being married to him I am sorry, Jessica, I didn't mean it'' she said

''I know you didn't,'' I said

'' Don't worry, you are strong you will find a way ''

''I am afraid there is no way I have to sign the contract tomorrow ''
