As soon as Maeve left, Maya wasted no time, flopping onto the couch with an exaggerated sigh and giving me a grin. She didn't have to say a word; I knew she was about to launch into a million questions.
"So, spill," she said, leaning forward like an eager kid waiting for a story. "How was the theme park date? Did you guys ride all the roller coasters? Were there any romantic moments on the Ferris wheel?"
I couldn't help but laugh, taking a seat across from her. "It was… chaotic but fun," I started, my face warming up just thinking about all the silly, messy moments. "We did just about everything, the roller coasters, the haunted house… And get this, Maeve was terrified in the horror attraction!"
Maya's eyes went wide, and then she burst into laughter. "No way! Maeve, the stoic bodyguard, afraid? Please tell me you got a picture of that."
