Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: Banishment

"What in the world are you?"

Keye stared at Qin Mo, seeing only a blur in his eyes. Though it desired to be banished, it needed to understand what this blur truly was.

The questions clouding Keye's mind weren't limited to this blur. It could see Yaen walking through the door, and it could also peer into his past and future.

In the past, Yaen had been abandoned during a mission with bounty hunters in the depths of the Hive City, dying in the jaws of a mutated creature.

His future lay in the hands of his wife, in the form of a photo, as his body had long been devoured by the mutant beast.

Yet, the enigma stood: Yaen was alive, not only standing before the door but poised for battle.

Keye bluntly shared its confusion about Yaen, recounting his past, present, and future, before turning to Qin Mo and asking, "Do you understand how horrifying this is for me?"

"I do," Qin Mo nodded. "You should be grateful you can see the present. If Carlos, that two-headed fool, were here, he'd be as blind as a bat."

Keye's pupils dilated in shock. "Wait... Carlos... How could you possibly know my master's name? How?!"

It was astonished that this blur knew its master's name, even though the words used were both offensive and disrespectful.

Due to certain strange encounters, Keye had access to some of Carlos' abilities, allowing it to glimpse both past and future, albeit not too far.

"You talk too much, demon." Qin Mo raised his hands and opened fire on Keye.

With Yaen, an Untouchable, present in the room, Keye's powers were weakened, but Yaen was not a particularly strong Untouchable.

The shotgun-like lasers tore into Keye's flesh, burning and ripping it apart, but it still wasn't enough to kill the demon.

"That's why I told you to use melee weapons…" Qin Mo remarked between shots.

"I know, because long-range attacks can't fully kill them, right?" Yaen nodded, charging at Keye with the chainsword and grav-hammer in hand.

One of Keye's eyes glanced at the pile of meat that had been Aken, while the other focused on Yaen.

Yaen's gravity shield had been disrupted, but he hadn't expected it to work against this demon anyway. Activating bullet-time, Yaen closed the distance, thrusting the chainsword and hammering down with the grav-hammer.

During the slowed perception of bullet-time, Yaen saw Keye's eye move slightly before its entire body vanished in an instant.

"It's moved here." Qin Mo phased through the wall, sensing Keye's location through his connection to the Warp creatures.

Both men sprinted through the corridors, eventually arriving at the training grounds where Qin Mo had previously slaughtered numerous guards.

There stood Keye, inspecting the charred and torn remains of its flesh and feathers, before raising a claw and unleashing a wall of eerie blue fire between itself and its pursuers.

Keye believed this would buy some time to formulate a plan, but soon, it found itself closing the gap in a manner it could not have foreseen.

The ground beneath Keye twisted, and suddenly, the space it stood on was warped, dragging it and the surrounding area forward through the wall of blue flame, bringing it face-to-face with Qin Mo.

As Keye was pulled into range, Qin Mo swung his Twin-Headed Eagle staff with all his might. "Warp-spawned filth, take this!"

Yaen reacted swiftly, darting out from Qin Mo's left, slashing at Keye's wings with the chainsword.

Boom—

Zzzzz—

Keye's head was struck, half its wing torn away by the chainsword, while the staff sent it flying ten meters before crashing into the wall.

Before Keye could recover, Qin Mo raised his staff again, warping the space once more, dragging both Keye and the wall it was embedded in back towards him. The Twin-Headed Eagle staff came down again, smashing Keye's beak into pieces.

Yaen swung his grav-hammer into Keye's legs, pulverizing them under the hammer's crushing weight.

But the onslaught wasn't over. Qin Mo swung the staff upwards like a golf club, electricity crackling along its surface. The moment the staff connected with Keye, lightning erupted, burning its body and sending it flying through the air.

Keye should have embedded itself into the distant wall, but Qin Mo raised his hand, warping the wall another hundred meters away. Keye flew for a hundred meters before crashing into it.

With a sharp gesture, Qin Mo clenched his fist, pulling Keye and the wall back once again.

The Twin-Headed Eagle staff thrust forward, shattering Keye's slender neck, while Yaen plunged the chainsword into Keye's abdomen.

The chainsword whirred and buzzed, its teeth grinding through Keye's shell, shredding it apart.

"Well done. I have no way to retaliate against this onslaught," Keye's shattered beak somehow managed to speak. "But do not forget, this is only because I have been weakened by entering the material universe, along with the presence of this Untouchable, and the limits of this form."

"Oh, and could you enter the material realm without being weakened?" Qin Mo asked with a sly smile.

"..." Keye fell silent. It knew that unless the Eye of Terror expanded several times over, entering the material universe without weakening was impossible.

"In the name of humanity," Qin Mo grasped Keye's skull, "I declare your banishment."

Scorching flames erupted over Keye's body, not ordinary flames but the fire of the Star Gods. In its weakened state, Keye's flesh could not withstand the searing heat, melting away bit by bit.

Yet, in its final moments, the demon, whose name even Qin Mo did not know, spoke once more.

"This... is part of the plan."
