Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Crimson Blood

The world is unfair—very unfair. That's what a thirteen year old Giorgianne thought when she witnessed the empire's cruelty. The soldiers went on a k*lling spree for it was rumoured that people on her village were planning to rebel against the empire's oppression. But it wasn't just that, it was the thirst for power that fueled them to be merciless and k*ill innocent people.

Georgianne watched in horror as her once peaceful village transformed into a scene of chaos. Homes were engulfed in flames, the air thick with smoke, and the smell of burning wood. The screams of her neighbors, the cries of children, all blended into terror.

Inside their home, Georgianne watched her mother pack their belongings with fear and adrenaline coursing through her vein, to flee the village. Her mother wants to leave and find safety in the forest.

They were about to run off but the door crash opened letting a soldier in who's eyes were red and looking mercilessly. He carried a sword dripping with the blood of their neighbors, a weapon that aimed to k*ll the two of them.

"Please spare my daughter!" her mother pleaded. "Please..." her mother's voice broke in fear. The soldier stopped briefly, his gaze falling upon Georgianne. She stood frozen, her small frame became smaller by the towering figure of the soldier. The soldier seemed to study her, his eyes piercing her soul, before nodding.

Then, with a swift movement, he plunged the sword into her mother's heart. She wanted to cry, to scream, to lash out at the soldier, but a cold numbness had settled over her. The evil man who had k*lled her mother was still standing there, his eyes, like fire, seemed to devour her with fear. He stared at her, before turning and leaving her alone with her mother's lifeless body.

She remembered it all, she remembered his crimson red eyes that makes her scared and somewhat furious...

The screaming stopped but the her heart continued to crash as she sat next to her mother. She used to be scared of blood, but now, at the tender age of thirteen, she craved it. She wanted to see blood coming from the throats of the soldiers who had stained her peaceful life, her peaceful village, with their cruelty.

After a few minutes of silence a woman appeared from a distance. The woman ran to Georgianne, face etched with cocern. She didn't flinch at the sight of a dead body but her eyes held pity for the young girl.

"Come with me, they're coming back tomorrow," the woman spoke, her voice soothing and gentle. "I know a safe place," her voice hinted urgency.

Georgianne looked convinced and trusted the woman. It's her mother's plan after all—to escape the village. Without a word, she stood up, her legs trembling, and nodded. She trusted the woman, she's her only hope.
