The Monday after their weekend adventure, Ryo found himself back in the bustling student council room. Takashi had him sorting through some documents that would finalize arrangements for the cultural festival, which, though still a few weeks away, was looming large in everyone's minds. Despite his hesitation about helping with the council, Ryo was starting to notice how the planning drew him closer to the rest of the council members, and with each meeting, he was getting roped in just a little bit more.
"Ryo," Takashi called, waving him over to a long, complex blueprint of the school grounds. "Here, take a look. We've mapped out the main stalls and performance areas, but we still need someone with an eye for detail to help make it cohesive. You're good at that."
Ryo gave him a reluctant look. "I'm not sure I'm the best choice."
Takashi laughed, clapping Ryo on the shoulder. "Trust me, you're helping more than you realize."
Just then, Rina, the vice president, entered with her usual calm expression and clipboard in hand. She gave Ryo a small smile, which surprised him; it was rare for her to look anything other than serious.
"We're almost done with this, right?" Rina asked Takashi.
"Almost," Takashi replied, nodding. "Just a few more things to sort out."
Rina turned to Ryo, her gaze softening. "Thank you for helping us out. It's been a huge help having someone who's not on the council give feedback. It keeps us from overthinking everything."
Ryo nodded, feeling somewhat out of place. He glanced over at the door, just in time to spot Hana, Saki, Mei, Amelia, and Alice chatting in the hallway. They waved at him enthusiastically when they saw him.
Takashi noticed them as well and raised an eyebrow. "You've got quite a fan club, Ryo. Didn't expect that from you."
Ryo sighed, pretending not to hear. He had to admit, though, his friendships with the girls had been evolving. He'd been especially surprised by Amelia's warmth and straightforward nature; she seemed to bring an honest curiosity to their group, even if she was still relatively new.
After wrapping up his council duties for the day, he joined his friends outside. Hana immediately launched into their next plan, her boundless enthusiasm impossible to ignore.
"Alright, guys! Since we tackled the city last time, we should totally do something different this week," she said, her eyes shining.
Saki smirked, nudging Ryo. "You know, you could plan something for once instead of just tagging along."
Ryo scratched his head, not expecting to be put on the spot. "Uh, well... we could check out the amusement park? I think there's a new roller coaster there."
Hana practically squealed. "Yes! Ryo's got an idea! Amusement park it is!"
The rest agreed enthusiastically, and before long, plans were set for Saturday. The whole week flew by in a blur of classes, council work, and their usual mix of friendly teasing and study sessions. Ryo even found himself enjoying the council meetings more, if only for the satisfaction of seeing things fall into place as the festival took shape.

On Saturday, the group met up bright and early at the amusement park gates. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and laughter as they entered, with Hana practically bouncing on her toes in excitement.
"Ryo, you have to ride the biggest coaster with me!" she insisted, her voice a mixture of eagerness and challenge.
"Do I have a choice?" Ryo asked dryly, but he couldn't hide the small smile tugging at his lips.
"You never do," Hana shot back with a wink.
Saki and Mei decided to check out the haunted house first, and after a brief, silent exchange, Ryo found himself trailing along behind them with Amelia and Alice. While he was usually the calm one, the haunted house had him feeling on edge, especially as the eerie lights and fog filled the air.
Midway through, Saki playfully reached out to grab Ryo's arm when a costumed actor jumped out, making him flinch. "Not scared, are you?" she teased.
Ryo gave her a look. "You know I'm not."
Amelia, meanwhile, laughed softly as she watched them, amused by the dynamic. "You two are really close, huh?"
"Close enough to tease him mercilessly," Saki said, grinning. "It's a perk of being friends with Ryo."
After escaping the haunted house, they regrouped and headed for the roller coasters, where Hana kept her promise of dragging Ryo to the highest one in the park. They boarded, and as the coaster climbed to the peak, she turned to him with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Regretting this yet?" she asked over the rattling of the ride.
Ryo glanced at her, unfazed. "Nah. Just wondering why you look so nervous."
Her eyes widened, and she quickly tried to compose herself. "I'm not nervous!"
The ride plummeted, and their screams filled the air, though Ryo's was more of a resigned yell as Hana held onto his arm, her laughter barely audible over the noise.
They spent the rest of the day trying out the different rides, playing games, and grabbing snacks. Ryo was surprised to see just how easily the time flew by. It was rare for him to spend an entire day so carefreely, but with his friends by his side, it was hard not to enjoy himself.
Later in the afternoon, they found themselves resting on a bench by the lake in the park, watching the sunlight dance on the water. Hana was animatedly recounting their roller coaster experience to Mei, who had opted for the gentler rides. Alice and Amelia, sitting beside each other, shared a quieter conversation, occasionally glancing over at Ryo.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the park, Ryo felt an unexpected sense of contentment. It was hard to believe that not so long ago, he had been focused solely on keeping a low profile. Now, he was at the center of this vibrant group, each person bringing something unique to his life.
Amelia looked over at him and smiled. "Thanks for suggesting this, Ryo. It's been a perfect day."
"Yeah," Alice added with a warm grin. "You should suggest things more often."
Ryo simply nodded, his usual calm returning. "Glad you all enjoyed it."
As they left the park together, laughing and reliving the day's events, Ryo couldn't help but feel a subtle shift in the air. His friendships with each of them were growing, and with that, so were the dynamics among them. While he still wasn't entirely sure what that meant, he felt himself opening up to the possibilities—a thought that left him both intrigued and a little nervous.
One thing was certain, though: his quiet life was a thing of the past, and he was starting to be okay with that.
