" Alpha team, do you copy?" A walkie-talkie sound broke the silence in the seemingly dead pitch dark forest.
" Copy" Another male voice replied.
" Report me the current situation."
" Yes, sir. We have surrounded the perimeter. There seems no activity at the target location except for the abnormal light appearing and disappearing. Please give us instructions." The same male voice replied.
" Alright, Major Luke, you are permitted to enter the target location. Proceed with extreme caution."
" Copy that."
" Alright guys, got the permission. Let's get this done." A well built fair skinned tall man slowly got up from his hiding place. Even under the dim light of the moon, anyone with a good vision could note this person's unmatchable handsomeness without much effort. His charisma was overwhelming that may be even a king would be jealous of.
Following their team leader, few dozens of people rose from their positions and started to move slowly without any sound. Not even a sound of a twig breaking down could be heard.
" What the heck is that?" Few of the soldiers who were at the front gasped from shock.
" No time to get shocked. Our mission is to investigate. Get ready and enter." Major Luke ordered.
Sound of gun safety locks unlocking and loading could be heard.
The place they were ordered to investigate was a tower which located in a forest named Devil's lair. The devil's lair was an evergreen danger zone in northern country. As this was a danger zone there were so many dangerous unknown beasts roaming. As major Luke was in the investigation unit he had to go and find the reasons for the abnormal phenomenon that had been happening mysteriously. Recently in that area there was a mysterious light continuously appearing and after a short time disappearing along with abnormal magical patterns drawing in the dark sky.
Now, they are in front of the so called devil's tower which had 13 floors. The tower was dark purple in colour and anyone could feel the dark energy which seemingly surrounding the entire perimeter causing the specific person to feel goose bumps. it was rumoured that if a person spends too much time near the tower will bring bad luck and some cases reported that people may become hypnotized and acquire monster traits. At the entrance to the tower there was a logo of an eye drawn with white lines in a dark background along with a crescent moon. Cold mist was swirling around the whole area as if it was trying to cover up the dark secrets that were lying inside that tower.
" Children of Apollo and Ares, let's charge!!" Major Luke roared.
These words of him, made the dispirited soldiers to gather up their thoughts.
" Huh.. Even though he was not baptized by any god, he knows how to deal with situations" One soldier murmured.
"Hmm, I agree with that. But I still wonder why someone who is talented like him was not accepted by any god?" Another replied.
" They say it's because he has not enough merits to get accepted."
" Bullshit, as far as I know, there is no one as kind as him in the whole Ares regiment! I think there is more than that."
" Silence!!" Luke roared.
Everything became silent again.
Yes, despite all the potential he had, he was not chosen by any god.
Luke remembered how much he trained and got ready for the awakening exam. Since he was 8, he was training continuously despite the protest from his parents. The reason for his unshakable enthusiasm, that's a long story.
It was because of his brother, Julian. Julian was a talented boy, just like Luke, but unlike him he was chosen by Zeus, the king of gods. Getting chosen by Zeus and becoming one of his descendants was a feat that was regarded as the highest achievement, a warrior could ever have. He was recruited into the best hunting team in the world and had a whole bunch of achievements which were thought to be impossible to achieve at that time. His legend continued, and he and his family were respected as a family of heroes until that day...
Julian and his hunting team were sent to investigate a deeper area in the forest named, Devil's Lair, yeah, the same forest now Luke was investigating, to solve a mystery that was thought to be related to the invasion of the monsters. From the day, various mythical creatures with deadly powers appeared abruptly in all over the world, which was known as the ' Day of seven moons', which was named because at the same day, there were seven bloody moons glittering in the sky in seven different directions ; people tried to search for the origins of this sudden invasion. Before the invasion, people thought there were no more powerful beings than humans in the whole universe. As if to mock this, the world suddenly became overloaded with monsters, running havoc in cities while going on a killing spree. Millions of people were dead in just two weeks of time. This condition continued until, humans getting chosen by various gods. It seemed there whole purpose was to protect the humanity from vanishing, and so many various forces under the name of different gods emerged and fought with monsters and started to build their own fortresses.
The team under Julian went to investigate the abnormal magnetic energy pattern appeared near the fortress of Zeus, which made the higher officials troubled as it may be a sign of a powerful monster lurking around.
The 'team' returned, but there was no team; only Julian returned. This caused an uproar in the whole world and people began to question their security. So, the higher officials did their 'best' option, which was, marking Julian as a traitor who killed his own colleagues. Despite it was a blatant lie, people believed it and soon Julian was killed, and Luke and his family were labelled as, traitor's family.
So, Luke's life long target was to get justice for his brother and of course avenge his death.
" May be, even the gods are disgusted of him because of his brother, who knows, huh?"
A soldier softly muttered to the one who was next to him.
" What? Am I saying something wrong? You also saw it in your eyes! Even the constellations didn't react to him!"
" That doesn't mean he us evil"
" May be or may be not! What if it was because he is evil?"
Luke quietly listened to all these talks, which aroused the bad memories that were burning his soul continuously. At the age of 18 he sat for the awakening test which had been an utter shame to him and his family and more importantly his brother! His brother awakened the most powerful god's power while he awakened nothing! Even the constellations which measure a person's potential for development didn't react to him, as if he was nothing to be cared of. After that incident he almost became traumatised, but could escape being a lunatic with the help of his parents. But did he give up? Of course not! He tried hard worked really really hard, and became a person who had to be acknowledged with because of his abnormal physical strength and unbeatable courage. He became a major rank out of the all chosen ones in the army. And now he was leading a team of people who were chosen by Apollo and Ares.
" Sir, we can't go past this line! It's as if something is blocking us!" A soldier at the front informed through a walkie-talkie.
" Alright. I'm coming." Luke collected his thoughts again and ran up to the front.
" Whoa I can't get past either!" To his surprise, even a single soldier couldn't get past the white line which surrounded the tower! They tried to get in from different sides but the result was the same.
" Okay, let me try" Luke slowly put his right feet over the line. His feet landed smoothly inside the line which made the others gawk with surprise.
" Sir, you got in!"
" Inform the headquarters, we got a special situation here." Luke ordered.
" Ah also, tell them, that I'm going in alone. Request assistance."
" Sir, what are you going to do? You are not even an awakened! Something might happen to you out there!"
" Yeah, may be , something might really happen, but it may also be the reason of me being able to go inside, yes?"
" But Sir-"
" Enough there is no time to waste! Let me get this done, okay? Secure the perimeter and if I'm not out by an hour, don't wait for me, okay?"
" Yes sir!" Sergeant Jamel replied reluctantly.
Luke turned towards the big dark purple door and murmured, " Okay, let's see, what have you got?"
