In the first week of August 2024, on a Monday morning, Rowan, Elira, and their companions arrived at the hamlet, where the small settlement chief warmly greeted them. He was a middle-aged man dressed in leather armor and carrying a sword for protection. As Rowan stepped out of the magical carriage, accompanied by his escort, Knight Commander Selene, the chief felt a twinge of fear. Her imposing armor and large weapon worried him about the potential consequences if he mishandled the important task he was about to assign to Rowan.
The Hamlet Chief acted normally and handled the situation well, given the nobleman present, referring to Rowan and the proof scroll. As Rowan received the scroll, he noticed it was empty, but words began to appear. He realized it wasn't just about building trust in this small settlement; he also needed to improve the people's livelihood. Rowan took out his pen and signed the scroll, and the Hamlet Chief did the same. Once both signatures were in place, the scroll disappeared, transporting back to the Imperial of the Crown as proof that the Hamlet Chief and Sir Rowan Ashbourne had signed their agreement.
Rowan, Elira, and their companions entered the small settlement. To ensure everything was secure, especially in the surrounding area, Rowan dispatched a small group of skilled summoned characters specializing in scouting and assassination day and night. These were Shadow Assassins, an Epic Tier summoned character. Each assassin can handle any enemies they encounter, as the description of these shadow assassins did not specify their gender.
After those Shadow Assassins have dispatched and if the enemy is on sight they will give a warning shot using small and agile daggers that could be eliminated by headshot or apply poison. But, if those warning shots don't work for their foes they will have no choice but to engage enemies using the enemy's shadows. Rowan and Elira sat down in the small settlement with the settlement chief and his wife at a table. They began discussing ways to improve the settlement and restore hope among the people for its revival.
Elira began the discussion by stating, "Based on my observations, Chief of this settlement, there are several pressing issues. The wooden houses are on the verge of collapse, the crops are suffering from a lack of water and fertilizer, and there is a significant security concern due to a shortage of guards and fighters to protect the residents. Additionally, problems related to clothing and hygiene affect the health of the people living here. Are these the current challenges that continue to trouble you, Chief?"
The settlement chief nodded in agreement with her assessment. He and his wife bowed to Rowan and Elira, expressing their gratitude for their willingness to help the hamlet. In return, they promised to share an important and secretive message, but only if the small settlement improved its livelihood and the well-being of its people. After this discussion, Rowan immediately summoned his characters, causing the people in the small settlement to gasp in shock as figures appeared out of nowhere.
Rowan summoned only those summoned characters that specialized in Production-Type and Crafting-Type Characters. They are:
1. Villager, Farmer, Wood Collector, Shepard, Meadow Forager, Foreman, Gardener, Animal Keeper, Fisher (If there is a lake or small pond), and Grain Collector for the Production Team Summoned Character, as for the Crafting Team Summoned Character, they are:
2. Wood Craver, Stone Mason, Tailor, Basket Weaver, Carpenter, Blacksmith, Leatherworker, Potion Mixer (for the settlement people's health and remedies), and Seasoned Hunter.
Rowan commanded them that for these 3 tasks, they must complete, they are:
1. Addressing Crops: Farmers, gardeners, and animal keepers collaborate to revitalize farmlands and ensure steady food production. Foragers and fishers supplement food resources.
Rowan has abundant resources thanks to his unique skill called Resource Surge. Since he doesn't know how to utilize this surplus, he has a growing amount of resources piling up in his storage and inventory. Since the majority of his resources are mostly building materials or other materials for different purposes he could use them for the small settlement.
2. Fixing Swollen Houses: Carpenters, masons, and tailors repair and improve housing. Leatherworkers and wood carvers reinforce interiors and exteriors.
3. Improving Security: Blacksmiths and masons focus on reinforcing settlement walls and gates. Villagers and foremen organize labor, while wood carvers provide enhancements.
Rowan summons Priests and Mages with water elemental powers to help nourish and water the crops, increasing their production. The people in this small settlement, especially the farmers, are amazed to see their crops starting to sprout. However, since it will take time for the crops to mature, Rowan immediately dispatches Seasoned Hunters, who specialize in hunting animals. This is possible because the Shadow Assassins are on watch, ensuring that there will be no disturbances in the forest from enemies approaching the territory.
Next, we will focus on security. The blacksmith, weaponsmith, and runesmith are ready to begin their work. The blacksmith will create all the weapons needed for both production and combat. The weaponsmith's role is to sharpen and enhance these weapons, making them durable and resistant to breakage or wear. Meanwhile, the runesmith will enhance the weapons, granting them powerful buffs that improve their effectiveness.
Additionally, characters who specialize in teaching combat and self-defense will be summoned. Commander Selene will serve as the translator for these characters, as most do not possess ego or consciousness. Rowan is doing a speed-run on everything so far because to make that specific condition work, it was the "Frontier Blueprint" an Epic-Tier instant building that needs a mana cost directed to the user, basically from Rowan's mana.
He took out his exclusive weapon for the builder class, which he simply named the "Builder's Hammer." Although the weapon didn't have an official name, Rowan chose to keep it straightforward. He had obtained this exclusive weapon during a time-limited event and now was the perfect moment to use it for his builder class. However, before proceeding, he needed to check his status window to see what changes had occurred during his continuous grinding for levels and the rewards he earned from the event.
