Looking at his stats, a bright smile appeared on Li Chen's face. He had been cultivating for over 10 hours and used more than 120 blood crystals, finally reaching Level 2 warrior.
Suddenly, he heard another notification in his head.
[Congratulations! For claiming your territory, you've been rewarded with:]
[Grade-1 Tiger Roar Fist: A powerful technique gained from merging with the Wild Bull gene, focusing on overwhelming physical strength.]
[Grade-1 Heaven Splitting Sword: A sword technique that aims to split the heavens with its sheer power, cleaving through any material.]
Staring at the notification, Li Chen was stunned for a moment before a bright smile curled up his lips. He had forgotten about the system reward, but now, seeing it, he realized this was exactly what he needed.
"I bet you didn't expect the reward?" Hera's voice echoed in his mind.
"Right…" he nodded, not denying it.
"Even though I don't know the origin of this system, all I can say is that it's extremely powerful and will be a great help on your journey."
"Before going out, I suggest you cultivate these two martial arts techniques to at least the initial stage," she advised.
Getting back on his feet, he stretched his body, and joints cracking echoed around him. "It's as if you know what I'm thinking."
He would be a fool not to seize this rare chance to strengthen himself. Just as he was about to begin cultivating the two martial arts techniques, a knock sounded at the door.
He furrowed his brow and went to open it. Standing outside were Manager Bo and a female servant carrying a food tray.
"Young Master, we've been waiting for you to come down for your meal, but since you didn't, I decided to bring it to you," Manager Bo said with a flattering smile.
"Oh! Thank you…" Li Chen accepted the food tray and closed the door.
Looking at the closed door, Manager Bo's smile froze for a moment before he shook his head and departed.
Li Chen looked at the sumptuous meal, and his stomach grumbled. 'I guess I need to eat before I start my training,' he mused and sat down to feast on the rare delicacies.
…
While the Wild Goose Chamber remained peaceful, the Kunlun Village was far from it. In just one day, the ordinary zombies had undergone an earth-shaking transformation.
Under the relentless attacks from stronger zombies, the humans hiding in their homes grew desperate as the creatures broke through their flimsy barricades.
When all hope seemed lost, a group of young men arrived, wielding weapons. They were from the Savage Crow gang.
"Join us, or we'll feed you to those vile things," Lou Ning threatened.
Inside a house, a group of people stood together, fear and anxiety etched on their faces. They had witnessed the carnage outside, where those monsters devoured humans alive.
Some of their friends who had attempted to escape never returned. Faced with Lou Ning and his men's threatening glares, they had no choice but to join them.
Lou Ning had an evil grin as the group joined them. This was the fifth house they had raided since their mission to recruit more men began.
"Let's go," he commanded, and they rushed out of the house.
On their way back to their hideout, they encountered a few zombies, which they easily dispatched. Though the zombies were getting stronger, they couldn't withstand the simultaneous attacks of a dozen men.
At the Savage Crow gang hideout, men, women, the elderly, and children sat on the ground, fear evident on their faces. Instead of relief, their expressions were filled with panic and nervousness.
Creak!
The door to the building opened, and Lou Ning entered with his crew and the recruits.
"Boss, we're back," Lou Ning shouted happily.
"Well done," the gang boss nodded with a wicked smile. "Let the new group join the others."
"Quickly! Join your group," a young man barked, slapping a trembling middle-aged man beside him.
"Ah!"
The man winced in pain and hurried to sit beside the others. With the new group joining the existing one, the gang boss's smile widened.
With more people under his control, he knew his plan to rule Kunlun Village during this chaotic time was within reach.
"Most of you know who I am, but for those who don't, let me introduce myself." The boss began slowly, "I'm the leader of the Savage Crow Gang. You can all call me Boss."
"From today, you are part of my gang. The women will serve me and my men while we protect you from those vile things. As for the men, the stronger ones can join the team that hunts for food, or they can become our slaves. Your choice?"
When the group heard this, anger surged through them. The women began to cry, realizing that their situation had gone from bad to worse.
The Savage Crow gang was infamous in Kunlun Village, known for their cruelty. With the world descending into chaos, only the heavens knew what fate awaited them now.
"How could you do this?!" a stoic young man shouted. His woman was among those in the group, and he couldn't bear the thought of her serving these lecherous men.
"You're insane! I'm leaving, and I'm taking my girlfriend with me," he shouted, veins bulging on his forehead. "When the sect comes to save us, I'll ask my father to kill you!"
Bang!
As the young man prepared to leave with his woman, the gang boss attacked, swinging his saber. The strike was swift and unexpected, severing the young man's head from his neck.
Blood splattered onto the face of the pretty girl who had been reaching for the boy's hand, and she screamed, falling to the ground.
Pa!
"Shut up!"
The boss slapped her, sending her tumbling backward. His menacing gaze swept across the room as he asked in a deep voice.
"Who else wants to leave?"
