"A day shall come when humanity will pay the price for the mistakes of those measly beings who call themselves 'Gods'. An era where the old God's legacy collapses and new figures appear is about to come. With a raging flame of war will come the inevitable awakening of 'him'.
'He' who shall judge the 'Gods' will destroy everything just to create something anew. A new dawn will rise upon this world. And this is the genesis!"
The words echoed in Kai's head as he laid on his bed, looking at his ceiling fan which was made out of copper. He got up in frustration as he looked at the wooden desk beside his bed. A black cloak which appeared to have a single flame burning on it was kept there, with two black flowers resembling a lotus was right beside it. A mysterious red gemstone could also be seen kept right behind a brass pocket watch.
Memories of the storm from last week instantly raided Kai's mind as the murmurs which were formerly gone came back, but in a very low voice. Kai simply took a deep breath and cleared his mind after a few seconds, he was calm.
Kai looked above the desk, on the wall was a small map of the Northern Continent which consisted of 7 kingdoms. Unlike the Southern Continent which was often ravaged with war, Northern Continent had entered an era of temporary peace all thanks to the Young emperor of the Verdentia Kingdom, Emperor Reynaldor who is known for his charisma and charm, uniting people with his inspiring speeches and vision.
At the age of 24, Emperor Reynaldor has performed astonishing feats in military warfare, politics, and mysticism. A prodigy in Elemental magic and the descendant of the royals knowing the Verdentia sword techniques, Reynaldor was a feared man...even by the rulers of the north, home of the Vikings, none other than people of Frostgard. In map...
"Verdentia is the heart of Northern Continent, being in the centre. At its top left was the Frostgard, the worshippers the cold goddess, Sylfris. The Goddess of Eternal frost, keeper of icy winds and the creator of frostbound landscapes. It is believed that the ones who worship her recieve a cold resolve and clarity in life. Many things about Sylfris have been lost in Ancient texts, which are the only proof that she really exists."
Kai sighed as his finger came near the border of Verdentia and Frostgard.
"Verdentia and Frostgard are divided by the world's largest mountain range, which is the home to the world's largest mountain...Mystwood Pinnacle. A place which weaves the thread of fate into the tapestry of time."
Kai said revising the words from his former geography and history teacher. He may not like such topics, but he was good at it.
"Just below Frostgard and at the bottom left from Verdentia was the Skaldholm kingdom. A country renowned for its poets, storytellers, and a rich history of oral traditions. Unlike Frostgard, citizens of Skaldholm are diverse. There are churches of many gods but three major gods they worship are Solaryn, Liora and Athrynn. They are the same as Verdentia, guess being neighbours and in an alliance for more than five centuries really allows cultural and traditional exchange."
Then Kai pointed at the Verdentia Kingdom, centre of the Northern Continent and the powerhouse of military. Land of wisdom and prosperity, embedded with rich history in warfare, technology, magic and also diverse in terms of religions and races. The biggest and the most populated of them all, and the most technologically advanced with the help of world's best alchemists and researchers.
Verdentia Kingdom lives upto its name as it has always maintained peace and honour during any war. They didn't attack or draw swords unless provoked and always have been the easiest to approach but never the easiest to attack. In contrast, Verdentia might be the strongest Kingdom in both the Southern and the Northern Continents.
Verdentia is a home to a lot of immigrants from the Eastern continent. Kai's roots stemming from those immigrants.
"Verdentia Kingdom...the land of wisdom and prosperity. Rich in coffee, wheat and is also the biggest provider of sugar in the Northern Continent. Blessed with fertile lands and a coast just above it... right besides the end of the mountain range and Frostgard. The unknown sea...it is said that amidst that sea in the centre lies the eighth lost kingdom of the Northern Continent. Land of Frost. But that's just a myth..."
Kai sighed.
"People of Verdentia mainly worship Solaryn. Lord of the Golden Sun, bringer of light and life. Worshiped by people who seek hope. Emperor Reynaldor is said to be his blessed, and Solaryn along with Liora are the only gods which have made public appearances in the past century. Liora is the Goddess of Dawn, symbolising beginnings and purity. Her followers celebrate every sunrise as a gift and have prayers for every one of them. My mother being a follower of her, I've seen how she always is the first one to wake up in the household and does her prayers every day."
" Liora is no normal Goddess, she was once a human who served and followed Solaryn. She came from a time when Solaryn and the other gods used to be present on earth and ruled over humans, that dates back to the 1st period. It is said that Solaryn had fallen for Liora and her extreme loyalty towards her...in other words, bro was a simp. He trained her and blessed her with powers, she soon ascended to godhood. Liora may have been the first human to do so, but wasn't the only one. Four Emperors/Empress throughout the long history of Verdentia Kingdom have also ascended to godhood. Many from other kingdoms too..."
"Though in this new period, the 7th holy period. No human has yet ascended to godhood. It is said that only one human has ascended to godhood in the sixth period, and none in the fifth period." Kai stated in a solemn manner.
Why am I recalling all these things again? Maybe to distract myself from the voices.
"But people of Verdentia also worship, Astreon. Keeper of the Celestial Flame, known for his wisdom and vision. He represents inner strength and knowledge. Astreon was a charismatic God from the 3rd holy period who established the foundation of Verdentia Kingdom then, along with Liora and his own followers. The Royal bloodline are said to be the descendants of his blessed."
Kai sighed.
"People around the world worship many Gods, if we take it into perspective there are more than fifty known and original God's which are worshipped around the world. There are secret cults, organisations and orders which performs illegal rituals summoning cursed and corrupted spirits. Many organisations also worship devils, evil spirits and the numbers are higher than you can imagine. Some worship the blessed of the Gods, who have done heroic deeds in the past, their bloodlines have recieved great positions in the respective kingdoms and some are even responsible for many kingdoms and dynasties which exists today. The world is a vast place, there are many hidden gods which was revealed by Astreon. They do not reveal themselves but are indeed either corrupting our world or saving it from corruption and erosion."
"What is this corruption and erosion? Well there is no defined answer provided to people of my age yet but from what I can speculate...once a certain being reaches a limit in terms of knowledge and power, something changes within them as greed, hatred and all the negative emotions take over them...at least that is what I believe."
Kai pointed at blank space besides Frostgard and above Verdentia.
"The endless sea, the unknown sea I previously mentioned...it is said to be affected by the corruption of the world. These matters are very complicated, the world is filled with mysteries and history, one can only remember much."
Kai took a pause before continuing.
"Three countries share boundaries with the unknown sea. Frostgard, Verdentia and..."
Kai's finger went to the top right direction from Verdentia Kingdom, the name Nightspire Dynasty was written over a portion of land.
"Enigmatic rulers skilled in subterfuge and illusion, this dynasty thrives in secrecy, manipulating the politics of neighboring kingdoms from the shadows. Powerhouse in terms of military and rich in terms of crops and cuisines. The land with the most secret cults and evil organisation...corrupted government and many things but still somehow strives."
Kai said in solemn voice as his finger then went right below Verdentia Kingdom and towards the right side of Skaldholm.
"Eryndale Kingdom, A coastal kingdom blessed with fertile lands, ruled by a line of wise and benevolent monarchs. Right below it is the Great Ocean which divides Southern and Northern Continent. They are great allies with Verdentia and were once part of Skaldholm but got their independence two centuries ago...then"
Kai's finger went towards the right of Eryndale Kingdom and in between Eryndale and Nightspire was the last kingdom which shared boundary with Verdentia Kingdom, towards the bottom right from Verdentia in map.
"The Emberfall Dynasty. Known for their mastery of fire magic and a lineage of warriors who once ruled the volcanic lands of Emberfall. The people there worship Gods of War but are also diverse. To be honest, every kingdom except Frostgard are diverse in terms of Religions in the Northern Continent. Sigh Well Emberfall was in war with Verdentia and Nightspire for many years but have decided to be peaceful now."
Kai's finger then slipped down towards the only kingdom in the Northern Continent which didn't share boundaries with Verdentia Kingdom. It was right below The Emberfall Dynasty and the country which joined the Northern and Southern Continent by land. Towards the right of this Kingdom was the Great Sea.
"Solaraith. A sun-kissed land characterized by sprawling deserts and vibrant oases, where powerful sorcerers harness the energy of the sun to perform miraculous feats. They also worship Solaryn but also many other Gods. It is the largest nation in the Northern Continent by landmass but doesn't have much habitant places because of the deserts. Yet it's still the third most populated."
Kai finally shut up from his yapping as he looked at his pocketwatch. Soon it will be morning. Kai sighed deeply before going back to his bed and just sat on it.
The evil murmurs from earlier came back in his head as his ears suddenly heard an abnormal frequency. Headache took over Kai's body for a few seconds and sweat began to emerse on his skin, mainly his forehead. His black hair started to turn white and his eyes glowed Crimson.
"Fuck! Not this again...ugh!" Kai groaned in constant pain. His breathing began to get heavy as a violent aura suddenly crashed with his soul.
"Hail the Crimson Devil...Hail the almighty king of hell...'he' shall be awakened..."
Many things were ringing in his heads at the same time. Kai took the redstone on his desk somehow and whispered some words, suddenly his mind went black. The voices disappeared and his hair colour and eye colour returned to normal.
His breathing was still hard but...he swiftly went back to his bed and went unconscious. Everything went black for him as crimson light fell upon the room, even though the crimson moon had already arrived for a week, the light somehow just entered Kai's room.
The 4th holy period was the time when Global corruption took place. Evil spirits and cursed devils, demons and monsters roamed around the world. Corruption would even affect God's and no living thing was an exception to it.
Is Kai being corrupted by some evil spirits from before the holy periods existed? Or are they the spirits from the Global Corruption during the 4th Holy Period?!
...
Bang!
After a few hours large gunshot could be heard in Kai's room as black blood drops could be seen on the floor. Kai's body was on the ground as black blood gushed out from his head, what was happening?
