Chapter 40
Lisa danced with her swords, their metallic gleam reflecting the moonlight as green essence swirled around her, enveloping her in an almost ethereal aura.
Her movements were graceful yet precise, every step of her martial manual executed flawlessly as she sought to ascend beyond the Expert realm in her martial arts.
Mana seemed to flow with her, every swing of her blade exuding a serene beauty that masked a tremendous, latent threat.
She moved through the forest like a whispering wind, her speed and agility imperceptible to the weak.
Finally, she came to a stop, standing on the surface of a tranquil lake.
Her pose, poised and elegant, seemed impossible for anyone else to emulate.
With her hourglass figure accentuated by her stance, she looked breathtaking under the silver glow of the moon.
Gazing skyward, she smiled softly.
"Well, that should be enough for today," she said, sensing she was but a step away from reaching the next realm in her martial training.
Sighing, she vanished into the night.
At the training ground where Kevin and Alex were training, Lisa reappeared.
She immediately noticed Kevin struggling to take even a single step, his face drenched in sweat.
Looking around for Alex, her expression turned sour when she didn't see him.
Without warning, she appeared directly in front of Kevin.
"What are you doing?" she asked, her tone sharp.
"Oh, Lisa," Kevin said, startled.
"Thank goodness you're here. Please, just move me about 100 meters away from this spot."
"Why?" Lisa questioned, finding his request peculiar. "Why can't you just walk?"
"Lisa, just help me out, and I'll owe you. I'll do anything you want!" After a moment's thought, he added, "How about this—I'll tell you where Alex is."
"Who said I'm looking for him?" Lisa countered, arching a brow.
"Oh, please," Kevin retorted, rolling his eyes. "Why else would you be here?"
Lisa started to walk away, but Kevin pleaded, "Please don't go! Just tell me what you want, and I'll give it to you."
Lisa stopped and turned back to him.
"First of all, it looks like Alex did something to you. Secondly, there's a barrier around you.
Even if I tried, I doubt I could break a barrier created by Alex.
Lastly, if you don't explain what's going on, I won't even attempt to help you."
Kevin sighed in resignation. "Okay, it's part of my training. I don't know exactly what Alex did, but within this 100-meter space, no one can move if their mana is leaking."
Lisa frowned.
Curious, she decided to test it out by intentionally leaking her mana.
The moment she did, she felt an overwhelming resistance, as though space itself was pushing back against her.
"What the heck is this?" she muttered.
The tiny fairy, Eve, appeared. "Fascinating," Eve said with a twinkle in her eye.
Lisa stopped leaking her mana and regained her mobility. "Do you know what Alex did?" she asked.
Eve examined the area before replying. "Alex is something else.
He forcefully manipulated space itself to restrict movement for anyone leaking mana within this area.
It's an impressive technique, but it won't last forever—maybe about five hours at most."
