Chapter 1 - 001 The Reincarnation!

"Mother, look! He's moving!" a woman's voice, filled with excitement, exclaimed as she looked at the baby in her sister's arms.

She had black hair cascading down her waist, but what was different about her was her eyes; she had slit eyes like a cat that were golden in color, shining with joy.

"Yes, dear. He looks so cute!" another woman who appeared to be in her late 30s replied as she looked at her grandson with a tender gaze; she had the same features as her daughter, with black hair and golden eyes, but was far more beautiful than her daughter.

Unlike her daughter, who was jumping out with excitement, she stood in her place while her fingers caressed her grandson.

"Have you decided on the name for my son, Mother?" the woman holding the baby in her arms asked her mother.

The mother looked at her daughter, who had just given birth to the vast territories they rule; a small smile bloomed on her face as she nodded her head, "Yes, dear. His name will be Arcturus, Arcturus Tiamat Dracona!"

............................................................................................

Mike was an orphan whose parents left him in front of an orphanage due to financial struggles.

He grew up in the orphanage and studied hard and got into one of the prestigious schools in the country, but just as Mike thought that his life was finally going to be smooth, fate had other plans.

One day, while he was walking down to his school, Mike suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed on the street. The people walking down the street, noticing him collapse, called an ambulance and joined him in the hospital, where Mike would learn the most devastating news of his life.

Mike has stage four cancer; the doctors have given up on him and told him that he hasn't got much longer to live. "I am sorry, kid, but you have at most three years to live."

That's what the doctors said to him, devastating Mike to his core. But, luckily, the orphanage Mike grew up in took care of him until the end. When he asked why they were showing him this much love when he couldn't give anything back to the orphanage, the lady who took care of the kids said, while smacking him on the head, "Of course we would take care of you. You and the rest of the children are my kids!"

Mike teared up at her words and felt really glad that he was lucky to be left near this orphanage; he knew that this wasn't the case with the rest and thanked the lady from the bottom of his heart.

Mike spent the rest of his years in the orphanage with the kids, playing with them until his health permitted and spending time with the lady, who treated him like her own son.

'But where am I currently? Haven't I died?' he thought to himself as he looked around at his surroundings.

He was in some sort of room that was blown up in proportions; everything seemed big for him, from the silk curtains culling the sunlight. The crystal chandelier hanging down from the ceiling. Decorations of various trinkets hung on the wall, to the pleasant smell wafting in the air.

'Why is everything so big? And why am I in a baby cradle?' he pondered as he raised his arms, only for his eyes to open wide in surprise. 'Is that my arm? Why is it so small?'

His breathing quickened as realization dawned upon him, his breathing quickened while his eyes trembled at the thought, 'I have.... reincarnated?'

Mike, in the last years of his life, became an avid reader of web novels when one of the orphan kids introduced them to him. He was quickly drawn in, and when he was bedridden in the later stages, all he did was read the web novels and watch anime all day long.

'Haha! I have really reincarnated!' Mike exclaimed in joy; his little heart thumped with excitement at the chance of life as he raised his tiny hand in the air.

Mike spent the next few minutes thanking the one who made it possible. 'I don't know which god was responsible for this! But thank you! I will cherish this life and live it to the fullest!' Mike vowed in his heart, as a determined expression adorned his baby face.

'But where am I, though?' Mike wondered again as his mind thought about the various kinds of settings, he got to know from the ungodly amounts of novels he read.

'Is it a cultivation world?' he asked himself, but one look at his surroundings was enough to know that it wasn't the case. 'No, I don't think so; the room is too Western for a Xianxia setting. Then is it a fantasy world?'

Most likely!

'Then is it sword and magic, or a dungeon type?'

But just as Mike was wondering about what kind of world he had reincarnated into, the door to his room opened, and from it walked the most beautiful woman Mike had ever seen in his life.

'She is just like those heavenly jade immortal fairies described by the cultivation novels!' Mike exclaimed as his baby eyes gaze locked onto her.

The woman had long black hair, cascading down to her waist; her golden slit eyes shone in contrast to her hair, while her hourglass figure was tightly hugged by a purple robe that screamed royalty.

"@%#&*"

The woman muttered something that Mike didn't understand in the slightest.

'Looks like I haven't gotten any system, TCH, bad luck!' Mike grumbled inwardly with a sigh. He knew that if he had any system, it would have shown itself by now.

'Haah! I expected a system, but this isn't too bad,' Mike mumbled inwardly as he looked at his surroundings. 'At least I was born into a rich family; maybe I belong to a ducal family?' Mike wondered.

But he shifted his attention when he felt as if he were being lifted from his cradle.

Mike looked at the woman once again, staring at her golden slit eyes, which mesmerized him. 'It feels like I'm staring at a noble being,' he muttered to himself as the woman smiled lovingly and looked back at him.

"&#%^@"

The woman muttered something again, followed by kissing Mike on the cheek.

He could feel the love she had for him and the motherly look on her face, 'She is my mother!'

Intense emotions filled his heart as he remembered the story of how her mother abandoned him at the front of the orphanage; just as he was about to spiral down into depression, he shook his head internally and mumbled, 'No, she isn't my mother! My mother in my past life is the lady of the orphanage!'

Mike murmured to himself resolutely; he then looked at his new mother, who was looking at him with love and affection, 'And she is my new mother!'

He instinctively knew that she wouldn't abandon him as he could feel a connection with her; feeling his heart calm down the longer he stared at her, he felt as if he were finally where he belonged—in her arms.
