Chereads / Shotaro: journey of a hero that kept moving forward / Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Paliv's ignorance

Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Paliv's ignorance

In the room where the trial was held, the queen was shocked, horrified, angry, & disgusted at her only child's crimes against the kingdom. She looked at Paliv, who stood there like a statue, in fear as her crimes came out; the child was overwhelmed by the stares of hatred, disgust, disdain & horror that everyone was giving her, as everything went black. She saw as everyone transformed into red glowing shadows with black eyes on expressionless faces; she walked back, and in fear, she clenched her head. Until she bumped into a wall, she turned away to hide from those stares, as she realized that was no wall; that was Mugyiwara Shotaro. She looked up & saw nothing but pure & utter disappointment in his eyes; she tried to cope with it, snuggling into his torso, "you---You're the hero...right?" "Please, you have to save me--it is your job," she interrupted, her voice trembling, "Save me...save me please...my father bet it all on you right---" but as a loud slap noise filled the court, her face was met with his large palm.

She rubbed her face, as she couldn't dare to cry; she looked up at Shotaro, who clenched his fist.

Suddenly, Shotaro also turned into those glowing silhouettes, so she ran towards the only person she believed, her mother, the queen; she ran towards her, away from the shadows hiding behind the mighty monarch.

"Mother—save me from them; they will kill me." She pointed towards the silhouettes.

The queen stared at the court; she saw the disappointment in their eyes, but murder wasn't in them. She looked towards Nyrebo, towards Granny P, & finally towards Mugyiwara Shotaro.

"What you did, my dear, is unforgivable." She said, in a stern yet conflicted voice, pushing her away, "Take her away, Mugyiwara." The queen ordered the red-eyed knight.

Shotaro stood there, looking at Kazam, and with a grim tone, he ordered, "Take her to her room, Kazam.".

Kazam nodded & took the shivering little girl to her room, as Shotaro turned towards the queen, then at Nyrebo, back at the queen; not sure about what to do next, he looked back at the queen, "What would be her—fate?" he said, looking at her. The queen slammed her palm on her face. "I can't with this shit," she said, grabbing a bottle of hard liquor as she looked at Shotaro. "She will cause a war between the two sides at this point." Shotaro just stood there, listening to her rant, until she threw the empty bottle towards a wall behind him, barely missing him, while he was left unfazed. The queen looked here & there at the court; at Nyrebo, everyone was waiting for her orders, her words towards the atrocities of her own blood, and she snapped & shouted, "Fuck off already, you all."

everyone walked out, Shotaro looked at Nyrebo, who was about to leave like the rest too, as he walked towards him, giving him a pouch of elven currency, "The girl would be hungry.. here, feed her a meal," but Nyrebo gave it back to the knight, "I don't need your money to feed her...hero," he said Walking out in a huff, leaving the two in the room, "Didn't you hear it, Mugyiwara? ...Fuck off," the Queen said in a snarky voice, "& let you drink yourself in melancholy? The life you JUST came out of?".

"I am your QUEEN, Mugyiwara Shotaro." She said, slamming her fist on the table, "When I said fuck off, you better fuck off, my Knight.".

Hearing her tone, Shotaro snapped, kicking the table hard enough as it flipped & flew towards the queen, causing her to duck to avoid it, falling from her throne as the table hit it & splattered into chunks of Aerion wood.

"You're fucking crazy," she said with wide eyes in a shocked voice. "Aren't you supposed to be the hero?" she asked him.

Hearing that, Shotaro stopped before walking out, clearly affected by those words. "Aren't you supposed to be the hero?" & Paliv's "You're the hero, right?" echoed in his mind."

"Aren't you supposed to be the hero? --You're the hero, right?"

"Aren't you supposed to be the hero? --You're the hero, right?"

"Aren't you supposed to be the hero? --You're the hero, right?"

He bit his lip until it burst, until his hot red blood came out; to stop hearing those voices, he scratched his ears; he scratched them until they were clawed from his head as his finger started touching his skull.

He was on his knees, vomiting blood & gastric fluids because his stomach was so tightened in his struggle against those voices.

"SHUT UP!!" He said, "SHUT UP!!" he said, bashing his head against a pillar, as he pathetically cried; his regular sass, his everyday sarcasm, and his brilliant nonchalance crumbled as he had a breakdown.

His blood drenched the golden carpet as he pathethically whimpered, his otherwise handsom face, covered in blood, gastric fluids, mucus & tears & saliva,"Shotaro--Shotaro!!" Granny P shouted running towards him, slapping him again & again before embraing him as he whimpered into her arms, "My boy, you're killing yourself" she said kissing him again on the side of his head, as to calm him down, to ease him, "Don't do that to yourself" she said making him drink the healing potions, as he cried & cried, rubbing his nose on her shoulder, smothering it with snot, but that didn't disgusted her one bit, "Why would you do that".

Shotaro looked at her, as she asked him the question, he finnaly wanted someone to ask him, that how, the man who defeated Garm, the phropecised hero is keeping himself, "I fucking hate it" he shouted at her, "I woke up in a world, with no memories of my own & suddenly all of its fucking problem are mine" he slammed his fist into the same pillar he bashed his head in previously, "I had million insects eat me for 2 weeks straight!!!!" he said "& My first friend----" he said falling into his knees, "She was eaten in half infront of me" he hid his head under his arms, "I burried her---she tried to save me & what did I did to repay her???" he said standing up before wraping his hands around the old elf's neck, "I murdered her people!!" he said as his grip tightened, "You think I have no emotions, you think Shotaro Mugyiwara is always such--a sassy sarcastic bastard!!!" he said as Granny P. got herself off his grip, looking at him with fear "Sho--Shotaro!!".

"STOP MESSING WITH ME" He said stomping on ground, "The day I was born, in my previous world, all of world's bullshit was mine to bear" he shouted in anguish "countless newspaper articles, many media outlets--hell the fucking Pope in vatican declared me as the messiah, the one born from a virgin maiden" he continued.

His fist tightened as more snot & tears came out of his ears & nose, "I Was always attacked by beings that saw me as a threat--I had to always fight" He said in a pained voice "My Mother who wanted me to live a normal life ran away with me in her car" he said.

realising what he is about to say Granny P.'s eye widened, "Mugyiwara don---" She got cut off, "SHE WAS KILLED IN AN ATTACK!!! A CROSSFIRE TO GET TO ME!!!" He shouted, "All because of some fucking phropechy" he said falling to ground again, "& When I came here, NOTHING WAS CHANGED"

"AAAAAHHH" he screamed, "I hate myself!!!!"

"Mugyiwara Shotaro" Granny P. said, "I always knew behind that facade hid a storm of emotions-but I never knew that storm would be this apocalyptic"

"YOU heard me" he shouted with no pride, nor shame, "I cry myself to sleep every night!! you heard me your hero, this big, strong guy, your supposed symbol of hope cries himself to sleep LIKE A BITCH!!" he screamed.

His hands touched the hilt of Alakshmi "This sword was never my biggest curse, IT'S JUST THIS PHROPHECY".

"I just want everyone to be happy, I don't want to save everyone but I want everyone to be happy" he confessed, "I am being forced to play a role I was always forced to play, in my previous life, in this----HOW MANY MORE WORLDS DOES Shotaro Mugyiwara have to save huh?".

"I just want everything to go fine, I beg everything to not require me but THEY ALWAYS DO REQUIRE ME" he said to the old elf, "Kill me please, please put me out of this damned phropecy, everyone else, this land, can go to hell" he declared "not my world not my problem.

Granny P's heart tightened, & so much that it broke, here she saw the man Luthor bet everything on, whose phropechy caused her & her loved ones great anguish even before he got her, she felt rage, hatred, disgust, acceptance &....Pity.

"I understand" Granny P. said "All this Paliv & that dark elf BS, you can leave us, we can contact a golden witch to send you back to your world..if you want".

"You think I have'nt tried that?" Shotaro asked her, "Some weeks ago I went & talked to Latteram" his skinn shivered, "I begged her to send me back, & she with a flick opened a portal across multiverse to my reality" he got up again, sizing her up, "& You know what I saw?"

"My world is long dead".

"What---" Granny P said understanding it suddenly "Yeah time works different between world".

"My world already reached it's end--while I was busy getting eaten alive here" Shotaro said his voice breaking, "Everyone I know, hell everyone I didn't knew & their decendant are already gone--" he said.

"Shotaro Mugyiwara" Granny P. said "I am so so so sorry, dear--" she got cut off.

"Shut the fuck up" Shotaro shouted "you & everyone have never saw me as Mugyiwara Shotaro, you all have just saw me ass the messiah" he continued mocking the multiple voices he have heard "Oh Shotaro great you're here, patrol the city" he said mocking the Queen, "M'lord help me with my father's illness" he said acting like Kazam, who was hearing from far away, as his heart broke, "Shotaro sing me a song like father, Shotaro come bath me, Shotaro help me study" he said in a low pitched voice mimicking Paliv "SHOTARO THIS SHOTARO THAT--OH FUCK OFF" He said as his sarcasm mommentarily returning, "I am just a 'all-problem-solving magic wand' that everyone rubs & expects to solve their problem".

"You don't rub wands, that's for Genie's lamp, you once told me" Granny P tried to correct him.

"oh fuck off" Shotaro said, "Now you all know I will have to kust...KEEP MOVING forward, go ahead & solve this problem" he said until every maid & soldier of the castle surrounded him, not with malicious intent but they all heard him, to them, he was an allpowerfull force of light, that came one day in their home & solved it's problem, one who always knows what to do, what policies to apply in kingdom, the hero who saved their queen, the knight of their salvation who never loses his cool, but now they realised how much pressure is he in always, how pathetic he really is, the fact he cries himself to sleep, Mugyiwara Shotaro was'nt the all knowing all powerfull unstopabble force, he is someone who was always forced to play the role of the messiah, someone who has already lost everything he holded in his previous life, someone who is...like them, a mortal trying his best, it didn't lowered their opinion of him, no it just made them relate to him...finnaly.

"Huh--" He looked here & there "Everyone".

"Lord Shotaro Mugyiwara" one knight said, "Your policies for the knight faction have made our long lives better, thank you" he continued "but that's not the topic, I just want to ask how are you?"

"huh?" Shotaro said his eyes wideneing at the question.

One maid came forward, "Lord Mugyiwara, thank you for making it easier for us to return to home at knight in those filthy alleyways how are you doing anyways?"

Shotaro put his palm over his mouth as he took a step back, as Kazam appeared "M'lord, you have my gratitude for helping my father's recovery from his disease, & making me realise the knight inside me, are you doing fine?"

finnaly Granny P. came forward, "Mugyiwara Shotaro, you brought hope on this gold plated hell hole of a city, how's life been?"

Shotaro's heart began to make up again, as he finnaly heard the words he was begging inside to hear, until he saw a familiar sight among the crowd.

"Ma---Madonna" he said walking towards the image, "I thought you--"

"Died?" Madona cut him off, "Perhaps I did" she said as Shotaro realised she is floating half of a torso, "Sorry-I did that to you" Shotaro said tearing up again, "No you didn't" Maddona said with a chuckle "I died betting it all to you, just like Paliv's father, on the strange naked man I found".

"Damn it" Shotaro said, "Why is your soul here".

"Well" She said, "We're friends after all, but it will take some time for me to fully forgive you for killing my father tho, but you were pratically possesed so it's a bit better I guess".

Shotaro looks down in shame, "I am sorry".

"I have seen your travels" Maddona's soul continued "your struggles, even when you cry yourself to sleep".

"I know you enough" she said "Shotaro Mugyiwara, you have never givena choice whether to save everyone or not, but you don't need it, cause you will always save people, a hundred times over, a thousand times, as long as you live, cause both of your lives have been a journey of a hero that kept moving forward".

"Maddona" Shotaro said "you're--I am".

Maddona's soul began to bright away to the sky, "My purpose after death was to make you realise that, that's why I decided to keep follow you all this time"

"Madonna" Shotaro said phathetically begging her, "Don't leave me--after all this time don't leave me alone" he said.

"You are'nt alone, Mugyiwara Shotaro" the soul said before whispering out of his sight "you have never been" pointing at Alakshmi on his waist, suddenly the time resumed, as Granny P, not knowing his recent meeting with his old dead friend, "this time you will have a choice, Mugyiwara boy, will you prevent this potential war, will you save everyone?"

Shotaro looked at her before going towards the near fountain & splashing water at his face, wiping all the mess away, slicking his hair back to what he calls 'his iconic DMC 5 vergil cut' or whatever that means.

He looked at Granny P., his smirk returning to his face, so did his sass & sarcasm, "every fucking time".

Seeing that Granny P's face mirrored the same demonic smile, "It seems you're doing well"

"So do I" a voice came from behind, belonging to Nyrebo as he walked in...with a very sought after face.

"That Girl" Shotaro said, "Ni Gah" walking towards her, "Why did you brang her?".

"I will tell you later" Nyrebo said, "follow me" as he takes Shotaro by his arm, "I never thought you will be such a whiny bitch, for a 2.4 tall man who looks like he drinks Orc blood for making muscles" to which Shotaro got annoyed, "God forbid I have emotions like a normal 17 year old, I have been here for only 2 months you know", as Nyrebo takes him, Granny P., Ni Gah somewhere, somewhere, in a forrest.

"This is where Luthor died" Nyrebo said, continuing he pointed at a glowing red crystal orb, "that contains a message he recorded for you before dying all those decades ago" he continued "Go open it, or destroy it if you don't want more burden" he said in a snarky manner.

Shotaro nodded & walked towards the flower, touching it as it reacted, a hologram of sorts, of Luthor on ground, looking directly at Shotaro, coincidentally after decades of his demise, "hero" the hologram said as it struggled to breath, "if you're listening this remember that I, my father & everyone after me, those in this kingdom & those about to come, need you" Luthor said, "But I don't want to burden you, if you're already not" he said with a pridefull voice "I am Luthor Ellarion, & I am dead, right?" it smiled & tried to laugh, "I have a daughter, Paliv, she is a sweet gal, a tad with racist but I am sure that can be helped, I mean I am literally dead cause of her" Luthor said, "I know it sounds selfish, but take care of my wife as well, take care of her as your mother, your sister, hell you might take her as your wife if she consents, I am sure she will be lonely without me" the hologram laughed on it's own jokes, "I know it may sound like I am full of myself, but my life has always been...about you, you can say I am a failed you" The hologram was about to die "I bet everything on you, great saviour".

"Save everyone, Shotaro Mugyiwara".

"Huh!!!" Shotaro exclaimed in surprised as Luthor used his name, so did everyone, as Ni Gah didn't understood what's happenening but she is understanding the moment, how did Luthor who died ages before Shotaro came in Drakastrodorn, knew him?.

"Is this related" Shotaro continued "....to that voice?".

He looked at Ni Gah, suddenly his deus ex machina type of thinking activated, as he realised a plan, before running into city again, jumping from the city's gate straight into the green tower, & into the throne via window, where the Queen was busy drinking herself on the splatter of broken table, "Hey I heard some noises before" the queen asked drunkingly "were that you?".

"Yes" Shotaro admitted, this time with no shame, "that was me & Now it is me who is here with a plan".

"A plan..to what exactly" the queen asked him as she hiccuped looking at him wit interest.

"1 year" Shotaro asked, "I need two years, we can stop this conflict between Dark elves & white elves..forever".

"& that is?" the queen asking her voice seriously intrigued.

"Me & Paliv will go there & make friends with them for next one year, Today is 300th hector constelation's sky, we will come back at directly 301st hector constellation"

"Are you fucking insane" the Queen shouted, "Those dark elves will fuck & eat my daughter knowing what she did to thier soldieres".

"trust me, like you husband did" Shotaro said walking forward towards her, "you trusted me enough to save you--trust me enough to save her".

"I trusted you cause I beilived in that phropechy, but even that isn't enough when my daugter's life is on line--we don't share blood, you're a stranger to this already fucked up family" the queen replied, "How do I trust you to take care of someone you don't share blood with".

"So that's the problem" Shotaro said pulling pulling a dagger out with matterilising magic, seeing him with a weapon, fear washed over The Queen "What-What are you doing".

"solving your doubts" Shotaro said before slitting his palm open, extendind the bleeding hands towards her, with the dagger in another, "Become my mother, Queen--no Mellrion of the greystone valley divide, I want no riches, no titles, no part of the royal treassury, I want your trust, I want you to trust me with Paliv, like a mother trust her son with his little sister".

Hearing this the phropecy's retelling just came in her mind, so Quoazo's visions that the hero will be from his family did'nt meant the hero would be related by blood to the ellarions, the phropecy was just forming itself now, without any hesitation she grabbed the knife, slitted her hand & held his as their blood met.

"From now" She declared, "you're no longer a mere knigt of green tower" she continued, "You're my adopted son, Mugyiwara Shotaro, the prince who saves, older brother of Paliv Ellarion".

hearing this Shotaro's smiled, in his usual unusual way, as he gave Nyrebo the responsiblity over Ni Gah, who decided she have no reason to return, & is now Bam's adoptive older sister, Shotaro handed Granny P his political notes & policies for upcoming one year of his absence, it was quite a big book, he ordered Kazam to protect Ni Gah, as he once protected him.

With Paliv on his side, who can't comphrehand that they are siblings now, he begin his journey, as Mellirion saw this from her window, she smiled & said.

"Keep Moving forward, Mugyiwara".
