Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Guardian and Demon

Andrew's POV

I carried Leyley to the bed after cleaning her up, but our mess in the bathroom was still a bit visible.

"Is it even normal to cum that much?" I wondered. I had only climaxed once, but the quantity was a bit alarming.

Besides tidying up a bit, I also put away the food after consuming a substantial amount.

I was already hungry before, and this little physical activity made me even hungrier. So, I ate a good portion of the meal.

*bam* Someone was knocking hard on the door of the neighboring apartment.

"Looks like he finally came to check out the situation on this floor," I muttered as I got up to head towards the door of the apartment next door.

"Anyone there? I brought food," the guardian lied shamelessly behind the door.

A slight smile stretched across my lips. I knew he wasn't sincere. He just wanted to push any potential person inside to reveal themselves.

But, unfortunately for him, I was aware of his little trick, and with a full stomach, my thinking skills were at their best.

I kept quiet and hid in the closet, the very one Leyley had used in the original story.

From my inventory, I took out my Magnum pistol and kitchen knife, and I prepared myself by activating the Weapon Base skill (rank F) in advance.

It didn't take long before I heard the sound of opening coming from the once barricaded door.

The sounds of the guardian's footsteps and mutterings began to echo in the apartment. I focused on calming my breathing, intending to execute a calculated ambush.

"Shit, I can't find her body," the man muttered while searching the apartment.

It didn't take long before he touched the closet where I was hiding. The moment he opened it, I threw my knife at him, aiming for his leg.

*slash* The knife lodged in his thigh, and judging by the amount of blood spurting out, I think my attack hit a major artery.

"SHIT, YOU BASTARD, I'LL KILL YOU!!" The man started screaming in rage before pulling out a baton, but I quickly calmed him down by kicking his injured leg and pointing my gun under his nose.

"You call me a bastard? You're the one killing honest citizens by starving them," I said as I approached him. He was on the ground, desperately trying to stop the bleeding.

His face was twisted with rage and pain, but my gun kept him under control.

"What do you want? Food? To get out?" After taking a closer look at his leg, the guardian quickly changed his mindset.

"Oh, nothing much... just your soul." The guardian's face paled as he looked at me. I hesitated at first, but selling the soul of such scum to a demon would be a huge service to the world.

My eyes revealed to me a host of disgusting secrets running through his mind.

I took away his baton and walkie-talkie, then started drawing a magic circle with his blood, following the instructions from the book titled *"Demon Summoning for Dummies - Volume 66"*.

*Bing* I lit the candles on the magic circle, then put on some eerie background music before bringing the guardian, tied up with duct tape, next to the circle.

"I summon you to this world. Appear to receive my offering and grant my wish," I said with conviction, without a shadow of a doubt.

There was an awkward silence for a few minutes before the light disappeared.

*Raaaawww* A shrill scream echoed through the apartment before a dark three-eyed creature appeared before me.

"Where... IS mY HUmaN OfFERinG?" The entity's voice was extremely unpleasant, and my instinct was screaming at me to get away from this thing as fast as possible.

"Here it is. You can take his soul, but I'd like to make a magical contract with you in exchange," I said, invoking *'Evil Sponsorship Contract'*.

A scroll appeared in front of me, floating in the air.

"WHaT DoES ThIS CoNTRaCT STiPULaTE?"

I started explaining the clauses of the contract that would bind us to each other.

[Evil Sponsorship Contract (rank B): Iv1]

[Contract Description: The individual *** agrees to sponsor Andrew Graves (Alex Park), knowing that he will benefit from an ability specific to the individual ***. In exchange, Andrew must deliver a dozen souls per month.]

[Small Note: The individual *** is free to help Andrew or not during a summoning in a critical situation. In case of non-compliance with the agreement, whether by Andrew or ***, the contract will be terminated]

"Hmm.... I AcCePt" after these words, the contract burst into flames and the ashes entered my body and that of the dark entity.

It didn't take long for the demon to steal the guardian's soul and leave as abruptly as it had appeared.

[Congratulations, you have obtained your first sponsor on your path in the demonist arts]

[Here are the abilities it can provide:]

[Oniric Dimensional Travel (rank B)]

[Description: You can travel to other realities by projecting your consciousness into the dream realm to meet the targeted person.]

[Small note: You need to know the details about the person you're going to meet and their dimension to travel without external help. However, it is advisable that the target of this skill possesses an object belonging to the user and summons them using a magic circle.]

[Usage cost: Mana and endurance.]

[Soul Devourer (rank A)]

[Description: You can devour a soul to convert it into pure energy, useful for various purposes such as recharging an artifact or increasing your own mana reserve.]

[Small note: Too much of anything is bad. If you consume too many souls in a short time, side effects may appear.]

[Usage cost: Mana.]

[Umbrakinesis (rank C)]

[Description: The ability to create and manipulate shadows.]

[Usage cost: Mana.]

There were other powers, but these caught my attention.

"Andrew? What was that?" Leyley entered the apartment, looking around.

It seemed she had enough time to recover. It must be said that I had time to clean, eat, and even execute an ambush.

It would be weird if she didn't wake up, and this loud music resonating doesn't really help.

"I wanted to try, out of curiosity, the ritual and some magic stuff I saw in this book. You saw the result, right?"

I kept a confident expression in front of her. I had the Eyes of Truth activated to see if she had made a decision she wanted to hide from me.

"I heard you wanted to... You made a contract with that thing?" So she decided not to hide anything she saw from me, huh...

"Yes, I did indeed sell this guy's soul to make a contract with that demon." I nodded before approaching her.

She first stepped back, before stopping. I could see that several thoughts were rushing through her head thanks to her confused eyes, but I ignored that.

I grabbed Leyley's hand and pulled her towards me.

"Are you scared?" I said, looking into her eyes.

She looked behind me. Her gaze was directed towards the soulless body of the guardian and the magic circles drawn with his blood.

"Why?" Leyley mumbled, lowering her head slightly. I couldn't see her gaze because of the black hair covering her usual pink eyes.

"Are you seriously asking me that question? Hehe." I laughed slightly before lifting her face towards mine using her chin.

Our breaths overlapped, we were dangerously close.

"For us, or more precisely to keep my promise, of course." The promise Andrew had made to Leyley was simple.

He would never abandon his sister or his role as her guardian, and there would always be a place for her in his heart. But, the original Andrew had trapped this promise.

He had never mentioned that he would be solely Leyley's guardian, nor that his heart would have only one place. He had simply guaranteed Leyley that she would never lose her place in his heart.

Hence Andrew was able to fall in love with Julia and attempt a healthy relationship, which unfortunately failed because of Leyley, who harassed his girlfriend.

"I... I don't know if it was necessary for you to go this far," Leyley expressed after a moment.

I ended up leading Leyley towards the corridor, taking her by the hand. I wanted to show her the other apartments. After she had observed the general situation of the apartments in the corridor, Leyley displayed a surprised expression.

"They never intended to cure us of these so-called parasites. They're here to erase the parasites." Surprisingly, Leyley remained silent.

"Leyl..." I was abruptly interrupted by Leyley who took me in her arms.

"Thank you for going this far for us." I smiled slightly, returning the embrace.

"I'm just keeping my word, and a contract with the devil is a small price to pay for you. ~"

I wonder if this is how my ex-girlfriend felt when he bullshitted me throughout our relationship in my past life.
