Eva's POV.
Alpha Trent suddenly pulled away.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that" Alpha Trent muttered and closed his eyes, trying to fight back his wolf.
My hand flew to my neck but the mark had not been made. I wasn't thankful about it but we haven't spent so much time with each other.
We should get to know each other better and find our way into each other's hearts. He had shown his love towards me but I haven't reciprocated his love.
I was just scared by the fact that he was Alpha and he might not want me as his mate but he almost marked me, meaning that he really wanted to accept me as his mate.
I rubbed the nape of my neck with my palm and smiled.
He finally opened his eyes and it had gone back to its normal color.
"Eva, I'm really sorry; I didn't mean to do that" Alpha Trent apologized and drew closer to inspect the bite.
He should be apologetic about anything because my wolf wanted it too. She was happy about it.
"Thank goodness that I didn't get to mark you. That wouldn't have been such a good thing" He uttered.
He didn't think it was a good thing to mark me. A few seconds ago he was confessing feelings and now he doesn't want to place his mark on me.
So what did he want?.
He probably wanted to have sex with me and dump me like nothing ever happened then take a chosen mate. This was a trick to make me swoon to his games.
I stepped back away from him.
"Why would you say it's the most exhilarating thing not to mark your mate?" I questioned with an ire look on my face.
He was a bit speechless for a while.
"I never meant it like that," Alpha Trent argued. "I only thought that you should be given a chance to make your own choices; if you want to bear my mark now or not "
His explanation clarified things and he wasn't thinking like Liam who would act shrewd to get anything he required. I had to learn to stop comparing the two Alphas to each other.
While Liam is nothing but a douchebag and an evil monster like his father, Alpha Trent was loving and considerate and it made him one of the most powerful of them all.
"What were you thinking?" He inquired in confusion.
"Nothing, I only thought that you were only keen on using me by sleeping with me and then abandoning me when it's convenient for you. They have always done that to me" I replied and pressed my palm nervously against each other.
"Well, I am not like them" He said softly and cupped my cheeks.
I nodded in agreement. He was a completely different person from those monsters who made my life so miserable. some people in my shoes would have thought of suicide then.
"I know you are a good person but sometimes my distrust tends to get the better part of me" I sighed sadly.
"You can trust me and I promise that I will never hurt you or put you in harm's way. I will defend you from every enemy that crosses your path, Beautiful" He snickered and kissed my hair lovingly.
My cheeks flushed. This seemed like a dream that I never thought would ever come true.
I was finally free from the oppression of Liam and his family and now I had a new family, mate and pack.

"Do you still want a tour around the pack?" Alpha Trent asked and I nodded in response.
"Good, let's go!" He held my hand and pulled me.
"No" I refused and he faced me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I don't want everyone to see me with you for now, your people wouldn't understand, if they saw their Alpha with a common slave" I spouted.
It might be alright for him to be comfortable with a slave but it wouldn't be so acceptable and comprehensive to his people. They would want him to marry an Alpha's daughter and a warrior.
Even though I was an Alpha's daughter, it didn't mean anything because my father was dead.
"You aren't a common slave;you are my mate and their Luna"
I raised up my eyes to gaze at him as he called me his Luna.
Never in my life have I had the illusion or imagination of becoming a Luna.
Being a Luna had a lot of responsibilities and respect attached to it and I would soon be the Luna of this powerful and excellent pack.
I gasped. "I don't think they would accept me as their Luna"
"Why would you think that?They would have to accept you as their Luna and no one would dare oppose that. You don't have to bother about their acceptance because if they meet a beautiful soul like you, they would definitely accept you any day as their Luna"Alpha Trent's words melted my heart; He spoke with so much confidence that any doubt I had, vanished.
I giggled at the thought of people bowing to me, it would be really strange.
" Why are you giggling? "
" Nothing "I shrugged and suddenly had an idea.
"I am still eager to have a tour around the pack, so why don't we go in disguise of commoners. It would enable you to get a better insight into your pack" I suggested.
"That's such a good idea,you are going to be a wonderful Luna" He said with a chuckle.
I chuckled too and urged him to mindlink one of his servants to bring some ragged clothes.
After a few minutes, a maid came with a bag of clothes in it, I think.
She dropped it on the bed then bowed to Alpha Trent and exited the room.
We rushed to the bag and brought out the clothes inside, it was a set of old clothes.
Alpha Trent without wasting time began undressing in front of me, from his shirt to his trousers.
His beautiful and well carved abs and biceps were pronounced. My mouth completely dried when I saw how smooth his skin was;I had the urge to run my fingers on his abs.
His underwear came to view and my mouth gasped as I saw his size. That was huge and it made my panties wet.
I suddenly had different wild thoughts in my head as my eyes fixed on his lower path.

I loosened up my legs and I finally realized that he had changed and it was my own turn to change.
"I should change right?" I asked foolishly.
Was that even a question?, What was wrong with me?.
I chuckled to escape his intense gaze on me, I cleared my throat and tried unzipping my gown but it was impossible. My hand was a little too short to reach it.
I finally did reach it but the zipper wouldn't budge.
"Need some help?" He questioned but I shook my head.
I didn't want him to get too close to me. I had never been this aroused before and I fear that if he came any close to me;I might just end up embarrassing myself.
"No it's fine" I held the dress in my hand tightly and scurried into the bathroom.
I continued struggling with the zip. It was like all this had been planned to disgrace me completely.
The door suddenly opened and I saw Alpha Trent's reflection in the mirror.
"Don't be adamant, let me help you" He closed the door behind him and got a hold of my zip.
In one second, he unzipped my gown and I cussed inwardly.
"Thank… you" I stuttered and cleared my throat.
I expected him to leave but instead he placed his hands on my shoulders and his long fingers slowly brought down the arms of my dress.
My dress flowed freely from my body and my underwear became exposed. He moved my hair to my other shoulder and placed his lips on the nape of my neck. That sensitive spot he placed his warm lips on made me gasp.
He kissed me there for a while and wrapped his hands around me. It seemed like I had melted into his arms and it wasn't helping as my arousal heightened.
I had always had control of my wolf and senses but right now I had lost each bit of it.
He sniffed my skin and I definitely knew that he could smell my arousal even from afar. I felt his warm breath smothering my neck to my back.
