Chapter 31 - Sky Island Fight II

As Damon yelled out to his team to regroup, the group's killing intent roared. The other members nodded at each other, then immediately turned to Damon, launching their attacks as he stood rigid, almost transfixed.

Draco, still confused by the sudden events, watched as smoke and dust filled the air around them. When it finally settled, Damon walked out, his face twisted in anger as he stared at Draco with an intense fury. Draco wasn't dumb; he could tell something was off.

Damon's wicked grin broke through his rage as he yelled,

{Awaken, Reflect: Stall!}

With that, he rushed at Draco. Draco noticed Damon's movements were stiff and sluggish, almost robotic. Damon swung his massive greatsword down with all his strength, but Draco dodged, countering with a swift jab to Damon's chin. Damon staggered back, skidding, but took no damage, and Draco could see Damon's movement becoming even slower.

In his mind, Draco pieced it together: Damon's ability was somehow linked to how much damage he could reflect, but the more he took, the more it seemed to strain him. Yet Damon was grinning to himself, knowing the truth, - his energy was building up, and his devil fruit awakening ability was only giving him more power. There was a drawback though, the more energy he took in, the harder it was to contain it; If he didn't do it correctly, he could implode.

Damon, in a fit of mad confidence, tossed his great sword aside and charged in, throwing a massive punch at Draco's stomach. Being more than 32 feet tall, he towered over Draco, his fist nearly half Draco's size. The impact sent Draco skidding, but he quickly retaliated with a powerful upward kick to Damon's stomach. Damon flew back from the force but quickly steadied himself. Damon then began swinging his fists wildly, but each punch was slow, his movements weighed down and exhausted, like a fat person trying to fight a skilled boxer. Draco weaved around Damon's punches, his face showing a mix of boredom and pity at Damon's struggling form.

Then, Damon's slow punch finally connected with Draco, pressing into his chest. Damon grinned through his exhaustion, wheezing out, "Finally, I got you!" He then shouted,

{Reflect: Release!}

With that, all the stored-up energy exploded, launching Draco into the air with tremendous force. The land before Damon was obliterated, 2/5ths of the island vanishing in a massive shockwave that sent rocks and landmass flying into the sea.

Though, Damon's eyes widened as he realized just how powerful Draco was. The memory of his fallen teammate, a yonko commander level, brought down by Draco in a single blow, flashed through his mind, sending a chill down his spine. Damon fell to his knees, laughing madly, convinced he had finally defeated Draco, the so-called "Human God."

Researching a bit after leaving the Roger crew at the Poneglyph. He found out about Draco from the bounty poster, titled The "Human God". Angered as Draco's eye reminded him of a certain world noble. He knew that he wanted to kill him afterward.

Just as the remaining members began to cheer, a powerful aura approached. Damon and his team froze, their celebration cut short as they saw a group approaching from the distance: it was Roger's crew and the Skypieans. Roger's tired figure led the group, looking as if he'd just rolled out of bed after a rough night. His hair was disheveled, and his mustache drooped haphazardly, but his usual cheerful demeanor was gone, replaced with an expression of annoyance yet confusion.

"You guys stay back," Roger muttered to his crew and other skypieans before gesturing towards Rayleigh and Scopper to follow suit with him as they got closer to Damon's group.

"What's going on here?" Roger yelled, his voice cutting through the silence. "Where's my friend? What did you do to Sky Island!?!?"

Damon, quick-witted, replied, "Your crewmate's dead! He attacked us first, even killed one of my friends." Damon gestured to the gate user, who held his fallen comrade's body for added effect.

Roger glared, his facial expression, amused and disbelief. "What a funny statement," he shot back. "He's the most pacifist person I know. He wouldn't start a fight even with reason!"

Just then, both Roger and Damon sensed something - Draco was alive. He was leaping back up to Sky Island, and his presence felt even more intense. Roger smirked as he felt Draco's familiar energy, unsheathing his sword, Ace, and growling, "Funny thing to say you've killed him, Damon. I've never seen Draco lose a fight, not even against me. Also, he's not my crewmate 'wished he was...' but he's my friend!"

Realizing the situation, Damon shouted for his team to retreat. The gate user quickly opened a yellow gateway, but the other members were scattered, scrambling toward the gate. Roger lunged at Damon, unleashing,

{Divine Departure}

a powerful attack, quickly throwing his greatsword into the gateway, Damon looked back barely deflected by yelling,

{Reflect}

He then swung his fist, redirecting the attack back at Roger, who blocked it but was forced back several meters. Damon seized the opportunity, jumping into the portal just as Rayleigh, tired but determined, leaped over Roger, charging after the remaining members.

The Fishman seeing as he was being targeted, fired his water laser pellets at Rayleigh, who deflected most but took a hit to his leg, leaving a 2-centimeter diameter hole that made him stagger. Scopper halted his chase to help Rayleigh, while the fishman escaped through the portal, smirking over his shoulder.

The only one left was the female Lunarian, who was already closing in on the portal. Seeing this, Roger's anger flared, and he rushed toward the Gate Devil Fruit user, unleashing his powerful Haki to immobilize him. But the gate user gritted his teeth, managing to withstand the oppressive energy. As Roger closed in, the gate user grinned and raised his arm, and a red gate suddenly appeared right in front of Roger. Roger halted just in time, but before he could react, a long flaming leg shot out from the portal, slamming into his stomach and sending him flying back.

With a sneer, the female Lunarian jumped out of the portal, "Thats what you bitches get!", cursing at the Roger Pirates, and slipped back into the gate, disappearing just as it closed behind her.

Just as Draco landed back on the island, he saw the portal shrinking to the size of a pea. With a burst of seriousness, he dashed toward it, halting just before it closed completely. Extending his hand, he plunged it into the air, reaching through the dimensional rift.

[Other side, Unknown uncharted Island]

"I can't believe we got away!" Kaku the fishman said, relieved and gasping for air. His giant size didn't help him one bit running away. Vexan, the female Lunarian chilled at the side while also panting,

"I can't believe we lost Levi... how did he get taken down that easily?" questioned everyone, Afterall they were the ones present as well.

Damon, who was lying on the ground was quiet before speaking up, "That brat... he didn't even use Haki... was he playing with us?"

Fredo, the gate user finally spoke up in anger, "I saw it, I was about to gate Levi away... but that brat... he was fast... extremely strong..." With his head down, his voice gloomy.

But then as Damon and his crew relaxed, thinking they were safe, until a swirling rift appeared behind Fredo, where the gate was previously opened.

Fredo, closest to it, gasped in horror as a hand emerged from the rift, grabbing him and pulling him through. The rest of Damon's team stared in shock as the gate user vanished, reappearing back on Sky Island. Draco, still holding him by the collar, threw him to the ground, the rift closing as Draco withdrew his arm.

The Roger Pirates and Skypieans stood speechless, while the gate user looked up, utterly terrified, realizing he hadn't truly escaped. He looked around at Roger, Rayleigh, and Draco, huddled around him, all staring down at him with crossed arms. Draco's face showed clear frustration, his clenched teeth grinding left and right as he glared at the cowering gate user.
