Chereads / One Piece: New Luffy / Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: Garp's grandson?

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5: Garp's grandson?

Shells Town, a small peaceful town.

Of course, this was to be expected, after all, this is the 153rd Marine Branch, so there are normally no pirates coming here to plunder.

If a place like this wasn't peaceful at all, then East Blue would be completely ruined.

Standing on the bow of the Sunny, Luffy looked out over the city and could see a huge Marine Base in the distance.

That familiar feeling, the familiar emblem of the Navy, made him feel at home.

This is the world of pirates.

"Come on, bring that woman with us."

Luffy happily jumped off the ship.

Behind him, Nami and Koby worked together to get Alvida out.

"Hey, can't you help? That woman is really heavy." Nami couldn't help but say.

She didn't expect Luffy to help her, she was just complaining.

After all, she had been sent all day...

Luffy turned and looked at her, she seemed to be struggling, and he said helplessly:

"I can't do anything to you, okay, I'll do it myself."

Waving his hand, he motioned for Koby and Nami to move away, and Luffy pulled the rope, dragging Alvida along.

Nami widened her eyes, feeling incredulous.

(Could it be that this guy is unexpectedly kind?)

(No, this must be an illusion!)

He's actually really good at bossing people around. He even made her wash the clothes he's wearing now!

That's right.

Now Luffy is wearing a more decent outfit instead of the red vest and blue shorts from before.

Of course he can't be without his straw hat!

That's practically his trademark!

It's the essence of his connections!

It is a symbol of your origin!

It's the hat that Pirate King Gol D. Roger entrusted to Shanks, and then Shanks entrusted to him.

In the future, he will have to trust this straw hat to recognize his beautiful childhood friend.

Long story short, Luffy dragged Alvida, with Nami and Koby in tow, towards the marine branch.

Walking through the city streets, there were whispers and murmurs all around.

But when Luffy looked, the locals quickly hid in fear.

"Am I really that scary?" Luffy turned around and asked.

Nami: "..."

Did you know that the person you are dragging is a famous pirate?

Koby whispered, "Luffy-sama, our ship has a pirate flag hanging, of course they would be scared."

"I'm a good pirate, it's sad to be put on the same level as bad pirates." Luffy couldn't help but sigh.

Nami couldn't help but laugh, "Are there really good and bad pirates?"

"Of course I do! I catch pirates to collect rewards, apart from the fact that currently my reward is 0, I've never committed any crime..."

Upon saying this, Luffy suddenly became a little unsure.

Luffy seems to have done a lot of bad things when he was a child.

For example, not paying for meals and leaving a note saying he would pay with his future treasure.

"Yes, yes, yes, Mr. Good Pirate, can we walk a little faster?"

"Nami, you're getting really bold after just one day. I'm going to make you wash my clothes for a month as punishment!"

"But I was the one who washed them first!"

The three chatted as they walked and soon arrived at the gate of the Navy Base.

"Stop! This is a military area!"

At the main entrance, two Navy soldiers stood guard with weapons. When they saw Luffy and his group approaching, they immediately issued a warning.

"My grandfather is Garp." Luffy immediately mentioned his Grandfather.

"!?"

One of the soldiers was instantly shocked.

The other soldier's reaction, however, was completely different, and he issued another warning:

"Who cares about your grandfather! Leave now or- Why are you pulling me?"

He looked at his colleague.

His colleague whispered, "You idiot! He's talking about Vice Admiral Garp!"

"Vice Admiral?!"

He didn't know Garp and had never heard of that name, but he understood the words "Vice Admiral" and was instantly shocked.

His colleague whispered again, "He's the Navy Hero and Vice Admiral, Monkey D. Garp, don't you know that?"

The soldier swallowed his saliva and looked at Luffy again, his eyes suddenly changed.

He forced a smile and said, "Um, may I know your name?"

"Monkey D. Luffy."

"Luffy-sama, please wait, I will report to Captain Morgan immediately!"

The soldier gave an abrupt military salute, turned and ran towards the base.

Nami: "..."

Koby: "..."

This world is so real.

The soldier who remained behind hesitated for a moment and explained awkwardly, "It's the rule... Please forgive me. The midday sun is a bit scorching, please follow me to the guard room." ."

Luffy handed him a rope, saying, "This pirate is worth 5 million."

The soldier finally noticed Alvida and his face changed immediately.

"Is this woman... Alvida from the Alvida Pirates?"

"I'll leave her with you. Remember to prepare the money."

"Yes!"

In the middle of the conversation, the marine who had gone to make the report hurriedly returned.

"Quickly, open the gate, welcome Vice Admiral Garp's grandson, Luffy-sama!"

Click, click, click.

The gates of the 153rd marine branch base opened on both sides.

At the same time, a middle-aged man with a sharp ax stuck in his right hand walked step by step.

"Welcome, I'm Morgan, the captain of this branch. I heard you're Vice Admiral Garp's grandson?"

Morgan was a tall man, full of vigor in his speech.

"Yes, I'm Luffy."

Morgan laughed heartily, "And who are these two?"

"My browser and my assistant."

"I'm Nami."

"I... I'm Koby."

After a simple introduction, Morgan immediately extended an invitation: "Please follow me inside."

After the group left, the two soldiers on guard looked at each other.

"Have you seen the captain's smile?"

"I just saw..."

Can the tyrant of Shells Town, Axe-Hand Morgan, really smile?

They both shook their heads, pretending not to have seen anything.

Like their subordinates, they may be surprised.

But Luffy wasn't surprised at all.

Morgan was a passionate young man until all of his companions were massacred by pirates, causing a drastic change in him.

He became obsessed with power, believing that those with power were the best in the world!

He rose from corporal to ensign and then from ensign to captain.

He began to possess power, so he believed he was great.

And a person like him, when faced with an even greater power, would naturally smile...!

[A/N: Yes I know it's different, don't judge me]
