The magic system of the world was intricate, governed by the two opposing forces: Light Arcana and Shadow Arcana. Each had its own language, its own chants that must be spoken to unlock its true potential.
The Light Arcana was invoked through the ancient tongue of the Luminarae. When Elara summoned her magic, she spoke in whispered, flowing phrases:
"Lux vera vincit tenebras, et spiritus in lumine ambulat."
("True light conquers the shadows, and the spirit walks in the light.")
Her magic was radiant, filling the air with warmth and energy. With it, she could heal, protect, and create powerful barriers that shielded them from harm. But it had limits. The Light Arcana could not destroy—only preserve.
The Shadow Arcana, on the other hand, was ancient and dark. Alaric's spells were spoken in the forbidden language of the Eclipsed, a race long forgotten:
"Umbra cadit super animam, et veritas obscuratur in tenebris."
("The shadow falls upon the soul, and truth is obscured in darkness.")
His magic was destructive and chaotic, bending reality itself. He could summon shadows to consume his enemies, create illusions so real they could kill, and even slip between the cracks of the veil to travel unseen.
