Now in a Jellyfish body, Finn hovered above the barrier, extending one of his four tentacles to make contact with it.
For now, he would try a less aggressive way to enter the barrier, assuming that didn't work, he would unleash a rain of attack on a concentrated spot to forcefully open a way in even if it's only for a moment.
After making contact with the barrier, Finn felt the dome-shape of this barrier that covered a considerable distance. He increased the effect of his senses looking for somewhere that could serve as a "door".
Initially, this would have been difficult, but now, with his True Mana Sense skill, Finn could cover a huge distance without issues.
The search took seconds without any findings causing Finn to mutter, 'Why is all this so hard?! Just open for heaven's sake!'
As though it listened to the thought of Finn, who had a false identity that made him similar to the barrier's creator, the point of the barrier where he made contact with swirled, creating a hole that led into the barrier.
Witnessing the unforeseen changes, Finn smiled, 'I guess it can also be that easy.'
Finn entered the hole that closed after he completely crossed. He felt like he had entered a whole new space upon entering within the barrier.
Underneath Finn was a city.
He was no longer on the waters, hovering in the sky that took the colors of the depths of the sea.
It was his abnormal physiology of his possessed body and Shape Shifting skill that prevented him from free falling at a rapid pace.
While he slowly descended to the ground floor, Finn looked around the vicinity he was landing in.
The city looked like a ruin. The ancient buildings displayed the effects of time, and the silence proved the lack of life here.
Curious Finn used his sensing skill once again, expanding more mana to cover the city. It was indeed empty, no proof of life.
The most outstanding thing here was the blue-themed grand building that was at the center. Unlike every other building, this building that Finn made out to be a castle was standing firm, not showing any signs of crumbling and exuded mana.
Finn directed his descent to its direction, hoping to uncover something of worth within it.
Now hovering a meter or two above the ground, he approached the grand Castle.
On arriving at the entrance, he was in awe. His size was nothing infront of this double doors of towering height, it made Finn wonder if he could open it.
Adorning the doors that looked like it was made out of ice or blue crystals were ancient runic symbols that seemed to hold power.
At the top center of the door's frame were sculpted 6 hands that were just about to make contact.
In the middle of the double doors, aligned on top of each other with a bit of distance between them, were two onyx black diamond shaped objects.
The alluring objects called out to Finn, he didn't know when he began stretching his tentacles to make contact with the one close to him.
As he made contact with him, Finn heard the familiar voice sound in his head.
[Use Rune Stone?]
The question reminded Finn of something about the status screen he was always curious about, but had no clue hence why he never lingered on it.
'Is this how to obtain a Rune Gift?'
After a moment of contemplation, believing there's no harm there, Finn accepted.
The Rune Stone Finn touched detached from the door as it lit up. Then, Finn felt his surroundings warp, turning to a space filled with darkness. Only the Rune Stone that continued to exude a divine light and Finn's Astral Body were here.
The divine ray of light shot out from the Rune Stone, linking both the stone and Finn's body together.
At that point, the space around Finn kept changing as though he was moving at a speed faster than light. With each new space that passed by Finn, more 'stars' appeared.
Upon stopping, Finn was now surrounded with many white flaming stars.
Another ray of light shot out from the Rune Stone, linking itself to one of the stars. Witnessing this, Finn felt like the star was what he needed to be complete.
The ray of light caused the star to shrink, and attracted the star to the Rune Stone, causing an indescribable imprint to appear on the surface of the onyx black stone.
Subsequently, the space warped once more, turning into a space filled with darkness.
The Rune Stone and the power embodying star merged, becoming a Rune Gift.
Using the light thread that created a bridge to Finn's core, the Rune Gift entered his body.
He felt the presence enter deep into his core, placing itself deep into it, making a subtle contact with the complexity he made out to be his mind and soul.
The moment the Rune Gift entered Finn's Astral Body, no light was present.
Next thing, Finn felt like he was falling from an unimaginable height, yet he didn't panic.
The voice sounded in his head, declaring the completion.
[You have obtained a Rune Gift.]
[You have obtained Gift Skill "I See You".]
Finn felt himself within his body again. Instantly, he willed his status screen to appear.
…
Rune Gift: - Judge of Lost Souls
Gift Skill: [I See You]
…
[Judge of Lost Souls: You have a level of control over Lost Souls.
⁙ You have obtained the Rune Gift, you are yet to claim it as your own. Raising your level of understanding and your synchronization with the Rune Gift will help you claim it.]
[I See You: You can see soul and soul-like beings in any Plane of Existence.]
Finn read the explanations and nodded. 'I'll just test it when I have a chance.' He thought, knowledge of how the Gift worked creeping into his mind.
He touched the other Rune Stone that was on the door and as expected, there was no reaction. He removed it though, keeping it within his body for the meantime.
Seeing his tentacles lacked sufficient strength to open the large double door, without activating his skill, Finn morphed his tentacles, turning them to hands.
Now he was a Jellyfish that had hands as tentacles.
Finn pushed open the double door, finding his way into the Place that looked like it was made of blue crystal.
The random paths he walked through led him to a huge hall. The walls and floors of the castle were like the door, they all seemed to be made with blue crystal-like materials. This castle, from the outside and inside, looked like a castle made of ice.
Scrutinizing the areas of this hall, Finn sighed. 'Not this again…'
In the middle of this hall, there was another barrier present, and this was stronger than the previous one.
He closed the distance, planning to try to get the barrier open, but it didn't work. Before he could try breaking the barrier, a calm, female voice coursed through the air.
"Ho-ho, what are you?"
