In front of Finn was another double door made of blue crystal.
Haru stood before the door without saying a word as though expecting something from Finn.
"..."
"..."
Silence permeated as they both stared at each other without uttering a word.
Haru made coughing noises and said, "Young Lord, I can't open the door…"
He was in a spirit form and he couldn't interact with the material world much in that state. He could phase through the doors, but that would be rude.
Realization flickered within Finn, he replied with a wobbly smile, "Ah, right!"
Finn turned his tentacles to hands, pushing one of the doors open.
Inside the room were weapons and items either hanged on the wall or placed on some platform.
Finn saw a broad sword, around 2 meters in length, placed vertically on the blue crystal walls, leading him to wonder who used such a grand weapon.
He saw more swords, daggers, spears, arranged in different positions, few standing out even more than others.
"Is there anything you'd suggest I use?" Finn lacked sufficient knowledge about these things, and would rather seek guidance before coming to a conclusion.
"I don't know what's the best thing to use in this current world, so forgive me if I'm lacking." Haru moved to one of the platforms, pointing at what was in it, "At the minimum, I know this would be of great use to you."
On the platform was a silver ring with a little black gem embedded to its surface.
'With everything that was here, this being really valuable is surprising.' Finn mused inwardly before asking, "What is it used for?"
Haru humbly explained, "I've forgotten what it's called… but it's an item that can store things. If you channel in your mana, then will it to absorb something, it'll store that thing in a spatial room that's linked to it."
"Whoa, that will truly be useful! Thanks!"
"It's nothing."
Seeing that asking Haru to guide him was truly the right thing, Finn probed, "Is there anything more that you suggest I take?"
Haru carefully thought and said with a low voice. "Hmm… Forgive me for asking, but if you want my suggestions, could you tell me your abilities? If you can't, I'll just tell you the effects of all the items here so you'll pick the best."
Finn didn't reveal much, replying, "Are you familiar with the inherent abilities of a Ghost? Anything that complements it works!"
Without trying to be rude, Haru stated, "I am familiar with Ghosts to an extent, but from my perspective they are exceptionally weak with all the constraints they have… You say you're a ghost, yet you don't really seem like one to me."
'Ahh… The status did mention I broke free of my constraints…' After a moment of contemplation, Finn said, "I evolved and broke those constraints."
"Evolved? A Ghost can evolve?" Haru blurted out.
'Am I the first to evolve? Hmph, I really am a unique creature!' Finn explained, "Yes, I'm an evolved ghost, a Great Phantom."
"I'm unfamiliar with such a race, that explains a lot." Haru muttered to himself, then said to Finn. "Young Lord, instead of a weapon, permit to share this knowledge instead.
"I believe you should be a spiritual lifeform or a top of the crop demi-spiritual lifeform now that you've broken free from those constraints. For this reason, I'll advise you to get a new material body to host yourself, instead of a body that has already been influenced by a previous soul."
Puzzled, Finn inquired, "Can you please explain better?"
Haru nodded, "Alright. Normally, Ghosts rather possess a living body or a body still has a core because these bodies will help them in breaking their usual constraints and stabilizing their mental health.
"But now that you lack those constraints, you can possess a pure uninhabited vessel. This will allow your spirit body and material body to blend seamlessly, with the chance of increasing your strength after.
"Pure vessels won't have the influence of previous body owners to affect this."
Upon grasping the essence of this, Finn said, "I see. Thank you, I'll work towards that."
Simultaneously, Finn had a thought, 'Is the reason I was stripped of the Release skill related to this? I also need to find out more about the nature of ghosts… Was this why I was able to leave the Fenrir's body after the body "died", this sounds more advantageous...'
Satisfied, Haru replied, "Anything to raise your strength." He added, "While we are on this note, Young Master, I have an additional request."
"Eh? What's it?"
"Could you also help us three get a material body we can use after we're sealed?"
Seeing it was something he would eventually do for himself, he didn't think it'd be affecting him, so Finn accepted Haru's request.
Now that they were done with that, Haru explained the effects of the weapons here. Unfortunately he didn't know the effects of everything here.
The effects of the weapons ranged from the ones that'll help channel mana within a body more efficiently, those that have protection effects, the weapons that had good mana conductivity, items that helped mana absorption and magic casting easier.
There were even consumables with different effects.
Finn would have loved to use most of them, but he was also limited by his proficiency in the weapons. Some were items he could also do without and believe other uses would come in the future.
Finn ended up choosing outfits with varying effects and his weapon of choice was a clawed gauntlet.
Of all battle techniques, he was most proficient in fighting with his fists. He didn't know when he'd have the opportunity to learn how to fight with this weapon.
He chose the gauntlet because he could naturally get better with it compared to other weapons. For long range battles, he was already attempting magic.
The effects of the gauntlets were also good; it had one of the best mana conductivity of all weapons here, and his affinities with all elements are slightly increased with this.
After putting the items in his ring which he lazily named, Inventory, he put the ring within his body for the meantime.
Finn and Haru headed back to the hall.
On their way, Finn contemplated multiple questions to ask, but he had to pick the most relevant at the moment.
Haru in this spirit body was getting weak. He was using a large amount of strength to remain this way until he saw Finn out.
Finn asked, "How will I recognize what is relating to this god?"
