Three hours later.
As Team 7 strolled across the forest floor, rays of sunlight pierced the foliage overhead. Deep in thought, these Genin discussed their favorite meal, oblivious to their deadly surroundings.
"All this talk about ramen is making me hungry." Naruto spoke.
This statement was followed by gentle wind, blowing through an opened and vibrant grove. Forcing their hair to rustle and waver, this breeze abruptly swelled in strength and volume.
Raising one hand towards this torrent of wind, Naruto's Rinnegan failed to disperse this vortex. Instead, he clapped both hands together, weaving through a complicated array of seals.
"Water Style: Water Wall jutsu!" A condensed stream of water spewed from Naruto's mouth.
Launched with the force of a thrashing waterfall, this chakra-filled liquid polluted the air. Swirling and rotating in place, this gushing water clung to Naruto, molding into a protective sphere.
Creating water where none previously existed, thrashing wind collided against Naruto's technique. Unleashing a fierce explosion of wind and water, the landscape was stained with a rupturing splatter.
Taking several minutes to for the air to clear, a prominent scar was carved across the ground. Landing in the center of this ravine, three shinobi of Kusa stood together, shrouded bamboo hats.
"Go have fun somewhere else." Shiore spat, ordering his teammates to disappear.
Slithering out from his mouth, a snake-like tongue was dragged over pale and wet lips. The strange feminine shinobi that previously haunted the exam, he possessed yellow reptilian eyes.
Grabbing the ornate edge of his hat, Shiore tossed this prestigious wood to the forest floor. Followed by an orgasmic moan, Shiore stroke his own stomach, giggling and laughing.
"I see... You." Shiore's tone was dark and twisted.
"Do you have a hell scroll? Cause that's what we need." Naruto questioned.
Turning his gaze upon Sasuke and Sakura, each of their eyes were closed and obscured. Inspired by this sight, Shiore reached into his satchel, revealing a black scroll, sealed with string.
"This thing?" Shiore asked.
Casually unhinging his jawline, Shiore's tongue slithered out, wrapping around his tinted scroll. Swallowing this withered page with ease, Shiore gagged and gargling on wet paper.
"What's with your eyes?" Naruto muttered.
"I could ask you the same thing." Shiore met one question with another.
Ancient and primordial, Naruto possessed the Rinnegan, a trait from the Sage of Six Paths. Older than the shinobi world, these eyes held many secrets, some more mysterious than others.
"When I heard about your Rinnegan. I almost melted." After speaking, Shiore raised both arms to the sky.
How does he know so much about me? Naruto pondered.
Uncoiled from a nearby tree branch, a 20ft long snake roared before unlatching its jaw. Surging towards Team 7, these Genin dispersed at the last moment, using Naruto's eyes to see.
Leaping behind a bush, Naruto closed both eyes, allowing Sasuke and Sakura to reveal their own. Strangely, they each possessed a single Rinnegan eye, rippled and glowing with a violet aura.
Raising both hands to their chest, these Genin weaved through dozens of unique hand seals. Afterwards, their inhaled a significant breath of air, causing their cheeks to bulge like a squirrel.
"Wind Style: Great Breech!" Sakura exhaled a torrent of rotating wind.
"Fire Style: Fireball jutsu!" Sasuke's voice pierced the air.
A blend of techniques, these flickering embers combined with a spiraling vortex of wind. Giving birth to a lethal tornado of flames, this blazing heat scorched the surrounding landscape.
As this fiery heat approached, Shiore's body contorted itself in various angles, as if he didn't have bones. Dodging this fire, Shiore watched as his large snake was burned to crumbled ash.
"No signs of visual or physical communication, not a single wasted movement." Complimenting his prey, Shiore's tongue was wet.
"Summoning Jutsu." As Shiore spoke, he bit a gash in his right hand before slamming it atop the ground.
This statement was followed by a dense cloud of smoke, revealing a 50ft tall emerald snake. With a diamond-shaped skull and green scales, this reptile had sky blue eyes, defined by vertical slats.
A snake summoning? Like Anko? Naruto felt unease in his gut.
"Thank you, my lord." Samanaga spoke, a talking snake.
Praising his master for food, this lumbering behemoth lashing out, uprooting sections of earth. As dislodged bark and broken debris littered the air, Naruto was confronted by this beast.
Dodging without any eyesight, Naruto flipped over broken trees, aided by Sakura and Sasuke. Eventually, these violet-eyed Genin noticed the huddled outline of Team 10, crouched for safety.
Brought back to the Land of Waves, Naruto pondered the outcome, a strange summoning he employed. Eager to call this beast forth, Naruto bit his thumb before clasping the earth with a bloody palm.
"Summoning Jutsu!" Naruto's voice pierced the air.
Enveloped by a cloud of smoke, a 20ft dog charged into sight, frothing white foam from his snout. Biting the radiant scales of Samanaga, this bulking behemoths crashed like titans, quaking the forest.
A brown-furred dog with a black-chakra rod through its snout, this canine was rabid and fierce. Also, this dog possessed a pair of Rinnegan eyes and bat-like wings, too small to fly.
Restricting and crushing this beast, Samanga snapped the furry neck of Naruto's summoning. The corpse of this dog then bubble and oozed, multiplying from one into two, foaming with rage.
"Magnificent." Shiore chuckled to himself.
Using this moment to her advantage, Sakura used one eye to leap and surge towards Team 10. Reaching Ino, Choji and Shikamaru, Sakura ordered these Genin to retreat, forcing them to flee.
Soon, Sakura, Sasuke and a blind Naruto scaled the tree-line, sharing their field of vision. Running for several moments, these Genin landed in front of Shiore, thumping a tree branch under feet.
"Sadly, that little nine tails prevents me from using your body, but your eyes will suffice." While speaking, Shiore licked his lips..
"Do you know Anko?" Naruto murmured, earning a devilish smile in response.
"She and I are good friends..." Shiore moaned.
Nodding in response, Naruto and his teammates dispersed into lingering clouds of smoke. At the same time, the dog Naruto previously employed was erased from existence, leaving a crushed crater in his wake.
Screeching with reptilian eyes, Shiore's voice was empowered by a shockwave of wind. Snapping adjacent branches and searing sundered bark, this shriek echoed through the Forest of Death.
Meanwhile
"Geez, I'm glad we're not over there." Sakura noticed a loud screech.
"Do your clones known anything?" Sasuke asked curiously.
Because Naruto ran ahead of his team, they didn't notice the grime expression on his whiskered face. A jarring shift from his kind and carrying personality, he played dumb, encouraging them to move.
Meanwhile.
Walking past dozens of wooden tables, Ibiki strolled through an empty classroom, collecting the tests. The site of the previous exam, Team 7 sat in this room barely two hours ago, testing.
Ibiki grabbed Naruto's paper but was then abruptly distracted by Sakura's broken desk. Approaching this disheveled wood, Ibiki bent over before grabbing her page, raising it to his face with a sight of curiosity.
"Hmph." Ibiki snorted, wrinkling the paper under his grip.
"I just passed a candidate who didn't answer a single question..." While speaking, Ibiki shook his head from side-to-side.
"Sakura Haruno… One of Kakashi's runts." As Ibiki spoke, a genuine smile spread across his face.
Naruto had been very calm through the entire exam. This realization filled Ibiki with interest, curious to see what the final result of his test would be when all was said and done.
Lowering Sakura's page to his side, Ibiki pulled Naruto's test from a stack of papers, glancing at it. This action revealed dozens of chibi figures, especially a scarred and tiny version of Ibiki.
"Hmphhmphhmph… Hahah... HAHAHAH!" Ibiki's laughed bellowed.
"One student doesn't answer a single question, and the other just doodles on his page..." Slurring aloud, Ibiki glanced out a nearby window.
"Those are definitely Kakashi's students." Ibiki returned to his desk with a smile.
Meanwhile
"This is,,,gruesome." Kotetsu muttered.
As Kotetsu spoke, he was surrounded by Izumo and Tonbo Tobitake, standing behind him. This group of shinobi were assembled in front of a bloody scene, littered with dead foreigners.
"The blood is dry, they've been dead for quite sometime." Izumo ignored the crows overhead.
Outside of the official Chunin Exam, this act of sabotage was beyond their jurisdiction. This wasn't friendly sparring, or a half-hassled ambush, this was murder of the highest degree.
"Isn't that a forbidden technique?" Tonbo pointed at a limp corpse.
This depicted scene was one of distress and chaos, masked by bloody statues of the Buddha. Stained with splatters of dried blood, these tranquil statues bore witness to a horrific murder.
"Anko needs to know about this." Kotetsu was crouched over Shiore's body, missing his entire face.
Ten minutes later.
"Bean broth is the best." Anko hummed.
Seated atop a 40ft chain-link fence, Anko had both legs crossed, barely contained by her skirt. Exposing lush lips, she licked her mouth with anticipation, devouring dozens of dango.
Hurling an empty dango stick through the air, Anko pierced the distant silhouette of a large tree. Carving the Konoha swirl with dango sticks, she finally completed her work of art.
"We have an emergency!" Tonbo shrieked, erupted from a whirlwind of leaves.
"Three corpses... And one of them... He's missing his face." Shocked by these words, Anko leapt to her feet immediately.
"Take me there. Now."
Five minutes later.
"They're all shinobi from the village of Kusa." Izumo proclaimed.
Anko nodded her head but she was simply too distracted by the mutilated corpse in front of her. The thought of a certain someone began to rear its way into her mind and it greatly worried her.
There's no doubt... He's in the village... Anko held the cursed seal on her neck.
Snagging the clipboard from Izumo, Anko flipped and shuffled through several pages. Stumbling upon Shiore's entry, Anko's worry began to grow even further.
"This is an S-rank threat! We need to get this dealt with immediately!" She yelled out in a hurry.
Ordering her subordinates to disperse, Izumo and Tonbo were dispatched to the Hokage.
"This...can't be..." Anko muttered to herself.
