Chapter 4 - Scarier Movie Part IV

The camera cuts from the eerie image of Dracula standing at the entrance of his castle to the next set of characters making their way toward the haunted destination. This time, it's Derek and Morgana, each experiencing their own unsettling encounters as they approach the castle.

Derek (Kevin McCallister) is driving his beat-up sedan down the foggy road, the interior of his car cluttered with empty energy drink cans, Dungeons & Dragons manuals, and an anime figurine glued to the dashboard. His GPS is mounted on the windshield, but the signal keeps flickering as it tries to guide him.

GPS Voice: "In 500 feet… turn left… to your doom."

Derek blinks and squints at the GPS screen.

Derek (nervously): "Wait, what did it just say?"

The GPS screen flashes once more before displaying a more standard message: "Turn left to Castle Road."

Derek (relieved): "Phew, thought it said something… weird."

Derek grips the wheel tightly, nervously glancing out the window as the fog thickens around him. He drives past an old cemetery, the gravestones barely visible in the swirling mist. His car rattles as he speeds up slightly, hoping to reach the castle quickly.

The camera cuts to a dark shape moving through the fog, following Derek's car. The figure slinks along the tree line, keeping pace with him as he continues down the road.

Narrator (mocking): "Ah yes, Derek. Our brave adventurer, with no clue that something is lurking in the fog."

Suddenly, Derek's phone rings, and he jumps, fumbling to answer it. The screen shows a call from "Mom."

Derek (groaning): "Oh, come on…"

He answers the call, trying to keep his eyes on the road.

Derek (frustrated): "Mom, I told you, I'm fine! I'm just going to a castle for the weekend with… friends."

The camera cuts back to the dark shape, which is now clearly following Derek's car, its glowing eyes barely visible through the fog. Derek, completely oblivious, continues talking to his mom.

Derek (annoyed): "No, I'm not playing Dungeons & Dragons with them… yes, I know I'm bringing my dice, but that's not the point!"

As the camera zooms out, the shadowy figure suddenly leaps toward Derek's car. He feels a thump on the roof and looks around, confused.

Derek (wide-eyed): "What the hell was that?"

Before Derek can react, the shadowy figure darts away, vanishing into the fog. He swerves slightly, regaining control of the car as he pulls onto a dirt road leading toward the castle.

Narrator (chuckling): "So close, yet so far. And the dice didn't even save him this time."

Derek hangs up the phone, his nerves frayed, but his excitement to see a real castle still bubbling under the surface.

Cut to Morgana (Jane Black), who is driving a sleek, all-black car through the fog-covered road. The interior of her car is dimly lit by the faint glow of gothic candles (battery-operated, of course) lined up on her dashboard. The car stereo is blasting ominous orchestral music, the kind you'd hear in a horror movie right before something terrible happens.

Morgana's eyes are focused and intense as she drives through the twisting road, her expression one of dark satisfaction. The fog swirls around her car, but instead of being frightened, she seems completely at ease, as though the world is finally matching her vibe.

Narrator (sighing): "Morgana. The one person who actually wants something terrible to happen."

As Morgana approaches a crumbling bridge, the stone arches barely visible through the fog, her phone buzzes with a notification. She picks it up and smirks. The screen shows a message from "The Goth Squad," her group chat, with messages like "This castle better be haunted" and "OMG, maybe we'll see a real ghost."

Morgana (whispering to herself): "This is going to be perfect."

She drives over the bridge, and just as she reaches the other side, a massive black bird swoops down from the sky, cawing loudly. Morgana's eyes widen with excitement, not fear.

Morgana (whispering excitedly): "Yes… show me the darkness."

As the bird swoops away, the camera zooms in on the bridge, revealing the silhouette of a figure standing on the edge, watching Morgana drive away. The figure disappears into the fog as quickly as it appeared, but Morgana doesn't notice, too absorbed in her goth daydreams.

Both Derek and Morgana pull up to the same gas station where Stacey and Tammy stopped earlier. The camera shows Derek's beat-up car parking next to Morgana's sleek black vehicle. The same creepy attendants shuffle out from the shadows, their eyes gleaming as they approach.

Attendant (grinning): "You need some gas?"

Derek, still shaken from the thumping noise on his roof, stumbles out of the car, fumbling for his wallet.

Derek (nervously): "Uh, yeah… sure."

As Derek fills up his car, Morgana steps out of her vehicle, dressed in her full gothic attire, black cape, black boots, and of course, her dark lipstick. She glances at Derek with a mix of disdain and curiosity before walking toward the gas pump.

Morgana (deadpan): "I didn't think there'd be a gas station in a place like this. Ruins the vibe."

Derek, wide-eyed and flustered, tries to strike up a conversation.

Derek (nervously): "Uh, yeah… spooky, right? You're going to the castle too?"

Morgana gives him a once-over, clearly unimpressed.

Morgana (coolly): "Obviously."

The attendants exchange a glance, clearly enjoying the tension between the two. Derek, still eager to make conversation, continues awkwardly.

Derek (rambling): "I mean, it's pretty cool, right? Castles and… curses, and all that. Kind of like something out of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign."

Morgana raises an eyebrow, not bothering to hide her boredom.

Morgana (sighing): "I'm going for the ghosts."

Derek nods eagerly, completely missing her indifference.

Derek (excitedly): "Yeah, ghosts are cool! Maybe we'll fight one or something."

Morgana rolls her eyes and turns away, finishing up her gas as Derek awkwardly continues filling his tank.

Narrator (mocking): "And thus, a bond was formed. A bond of pure awkwardness."

Morgana climbs back into her car without another word, her dark aura intact, while Derek lingers for a moment before sheepishly getting back into his own vehicle. The two cars pull out of the gas station and drive off into the fog, the camera lingering on the gas station attendants, who watch them leave with eerie smiles.

Another man in old overalls slips out from behind the register and joins the attendant .

"Dam Amos, whens we gonna kill some folk?"

"Soon brother, soooooon."

Attendant (grinning): "They'll be back."

Narrator (dryly): "Sure they will. If they're lucky."

As the camera cuts back to the long, winding road leading to Dracula's castle, all four cars, Stacey's pink convertible, Tammy's sedan, Derek's beat-up vehicle, and Morgana's black car, are shown making their way through the fog. The castle looms larger now, the towering stone structure barely visible through the thick mist that wraps around it like a shroud.

The road narrows as they reach the castle's massive, wrought-iron gates, which creak open on their own as the cars approach. The sound of metal scraping against stone echoes ominously as they enter the grounds.

Stacey's convertible pulls into the gravel driveway first, her pop music still blaring. She parks right at the front entrance of the castle, looking around with wide-eyed curiosity. She flips down her visor, checks her makeup in the mirror, and then hops out of the car, completely oblivious to the ominous atmosphere.

Stacey (giggling): "Wow, this place is, like, so old-fashioned! I feel like I'm on some creepy European vacation."

The camera lingers on her car for a moment, showing the castle's towering entrance in the background. The stone gargoyles perched above the doors seem to be watching her, their eyes glowing faintly in the mist.

Tammy's sedan pulls in next, parking right next to Stacey's convertible. She steps out, eyeing the castle with clear suspicion.

Tammy (grumbling): "Uh-uh. I knew this place would be creepy. Million dollars or not, this better be worth it."

She glances at Stacey, who's still fussing with her hair, and rolls her eyes. Tammy pulls her coat tighter around herself, clearly uncomfortable as the cold, damp air swirls around her. She mutters under her breath, already regretting coming.

Tammy (whispering): "This place is giving me straight-up Amityville Horror vibes."

As Tammy walks toward the entrance, she catches a glimpse of something moving in the shadows near the side of the castle. Her eyes widen, and she quickly turns away, brushing it off as a trick of the light.

Both Derek and Morgana pull up at the same time, parking their cars slightly further away from the entrance. Morgana steps out first, her black cape swirling dramatically in the wind as she surveys the castle with an approving smirk.

Morgana (murmuring to herself): "Perfect. Dark and deadly… just like I hoped."

Derek steps out of his car a little more hesitantly, clutching his Dungeons & Dragons bag like it's his safety net. He glances up at the castle's towering spires, his eyes wide with awe and nervous excitement.

Derek (whispering): "This place is straight out of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign… It's amazing."

As the four of them converge near the entrance, there's an awkward silence. Stacey gives a cheerful wave, but Morgana barely acknowledges her, her eyes already wandering to the castle's dark windows.

Stacey (brightly): "Hey! I guess we're all, like, here for the same thing, huh?"

Tammy (eyeing the castle warily): "Yeah… the million bucks. Did your invitation say that too?"

Stacey and Derek both look confused.

Derek (frowning): "Uh, no? Mine didn't say anything about money."

Morgana (sighing): "Neither did mine. But I'm not here for money. I'm here for the… atmosphere."

Tammy (raising an eyebrow): "Wait, what? I swear mine said a million dollars. What kinda scam is this?"

Stacey (giggling nervously): "Maybe it's a typo?"

Tammy gives her a skeptical look before turning back to the castle. Just as the tension begins to build, a loud creaking sound echoes from the castle doors. The massive, ornate double doors slowly swing open on their own, revealing the dimly lit foyer inside.

Narrator (mocking): "And so, the doors of doom open, and in they go, each one dumber than the last."

The group hesitates for a moment, exchanging nervous glances. Stacey takes the lead, striding toward the doors with her usual oblivious confidence.

Stacey (cheerfully): "Okay, let's go! I mean, it's just a castle, right? How bad could it be?"

Morgana follows with a small smirk, clearly excited for whatever dark secrets the castle holds. Tammy reluctantly trails behind them, muttering under her breath, while Derek brings up the rear, clutching his bag like it's a shield.

The camera cuts to the interior of the castle's grand foyer. It's a massive room with high, vaulted ceilings, elaborate chandeliers dripping with cobwebs, and portraits of grim-looking aristocrats staring down at the group from the walls. The stone floor echoes beneath their footsteps as they step inside.

A massive staircase spirals up from the center of the room, leading to the upper floors. Shadows dance along the walls, and the faint sound of whispers can be heard in the distance.

Narrator (mockingly): "Welcome to Dracula's castle. Cozy, isn't it?"

Stacey looks around with wide eyes, admiring the decor.

Stacey (grinning): "Wow, it's so… antique!"

Tammy (sarcastically): "Yeah. Antique. More like haunted."

As they move further into the foyer, the doors behind them suddenly slam shut with a thunderous boom, making everyone jump.

Derek (nervously): "Uh, I guess that's… normal for a place like this?"

Morgana (smiling): "It's perfect."

Just as they're starting to settle in, a tall figure steps out from the shadows at the top of the staircase. Dracula, in all his regal, ominous glory, makes his entrance. He's dressed in his traditional dark cloak, his pale skin glowing faintly in the dim light. His red eyes gleam with hunger as he surveys the group.

Dracula (with a sinister smile): "Welcome… to my humble abode."

The camera zooms in on his fanged smile as the group stares up at him, unsure whether to be terrified or confused.

Narrator (deadpan): "And here we go. Let the stupidity begin."
