We didn't return to regroup. Instead, we drove straight to Thornwolf, my heart a storm of fury and fear. Every mile closer to the packhouse felt like a lifetime, every second stretching into an eternity. The closer we got, the more the sky seemed to darken, as if it, too, felt the fury burning within me.
By the time we arrived at the packhouse, Beta Marcus and Gamma Theo were standing outside, waiting. The air was thick with tension, so thick it was almost suffocating. As I stepped out of the vehicle, I could feel every muscle in my body coil like a spring, ready to unleash my wrath at a moment's notice.
