Caspian's Point of View
The pain was the first thing I felt as I came back to consciousness, a deep, throbbing ache that radiated through my entire body. I could taste blood in my mouth, the metallic tang sharp on my tongue. My head was spinning, my vision blurry as I tried to make sense of where I was.
I remembered the cave, the torture, the wolfsbane burning through my veins. I remembered the man pretending to be my father, his cruel smile, his cold eyes. I tried to move, but my body felt heavy, like it was weighed down by stones.
"Welcome back, Caspian," the man's voice cut through the fog in my mind, cold and mocking. "Did you have a nice nap?"
I blinked, my vision slowly coming into focus. The man was standing over me, his face twisted into a cruel smile.
"You…" I croaked, my voice barely more than a whisper. "You're not… my dad."
