Khali, Pomona, and Raffiel had gone back to the Kingdom to handle a few matters and would not return for two days. In their absence, I found myself unable to sleep. I tossed and turned until the sun finally crept over the horizon, my mind racing with thoughts of our missing children and the horrors they might be enduring. My body was exhausted, but my mind refused to rest, haunted by images of Caspian, Dakari, Aurora, and Ivy, scared and alone, wondering why their parents hadn't come for them yet.
