Chapter 48 - Veiled Intentions

The morning sun spread a soft, golden light over the castle grounds as the King's preparations for Caspian's party moved steadily forward. Though his duties required him to address matters of the realm, today he couldn't resist a feeling of quiet excitement. As he made his rounds, he checked on various aspects of the celebration with the precision of a ruler accustomed to keeping order in all things.

He returned to his study briefly, where his steward awaited with additional documents on matters from the western borders. "Your Majesty," the steward began, holding out a report, "there have been signs of unrest in the western territories. They're requesting a meeting to address these concerns."

The King skimmed the document, his expression thoughtful. "Send a messenger to schedule the meeting, but inform them that any large-scale action requires a formal proposal. We cannot allow unnecessary disruption."
