Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Sit Tight!

2000 years ago, the world was invaded. It all happened when a power hungry demon called Asmodeus opened the realm that connected the demon world to the human world.

Asmodeus was a king of the sixth hell, a demon with powers great enough to disrupt the order of the earth, with ability to create great earthquakes and cause cosmic disturbances.

Asmodeus was driven with the idea of ruling earth, as his divine position as a sixth hell king wasn't enough for him. But for some reason unknown to him, his physical self was outrightly forbidden from the earth, and with that, he was locked in by a powerful realm that kept demons at bay, only for him to rule over tenaciously dangerous monsters such as demoniacs.

The demoniacs were human sized creatures from hell, but unlike humans, they possessed features like any wild beast and also the insatiable desire to kill. The demoniacs were kept in hell due to their evil-like mannerism and how dangerous a habitat they were. They weren't something that could be controlled by mere mortals as they had the tendency to begin an apocalypse as soon as they began to live amongst humans.

However, Asmodeus's greedy thoughts ran before his self-wisdom, and every hour in hell felt as a burden as he contemplated ruling over the earth. He was a demon with unwavering determination afterall, and demons never really failed to be consistent with their aims.

And so, eventually, Asmodeus became regardless of the consequences, and with his sixth hell strength and consistency, he was able to break through the divine realm door that kept humans hidden from the unnatural.

And alongside him, a few thousand demoniacs were able to escape to earth too.

Asmodeus hadn't thought it all through, but his aim seemed to have been working for him afterall. With the already unleashed fugitive demoniacs, he saw the opportunity for his awareness and domination to spread far across the world, and his dreams of actually becoming a feared ruler now actualizing.

World domination, politics and power was all the demon ever understood afterall.

Asmodeus was able to get most of the demoniacs under command, but he was almost ridden with anger to see how the other demoniacs, whom he had ruled over freely in hell, would now refuse to join his force.

However, that was supposed, as many of the demoniacs had taken interest in living freely among the humans, as a normal being. And so they were able to mimic the typical human appearance and hide from Asmodeus's threat as it threatened their lives.

Years had passed since Asmodeus's militarized reign, and the world uprose to its own ends each passing season, as Asmodeus didn't make any considerable actions as regards the preservation of humans.

Hundreds of humans were murdered each day, an issue caused by the insatiable desire of the demoniacs to kill. The world was left in nothing but turmoil under the rule of Asmodeus.

And he wasn't questionable, as anyone who did was silenced immediately. The humans seemed to have lost hope and began to accept themselves as history, people who used to exist on earth.

However, at the brink of their extinction, a saviour was sent to them from the Heavens, one that was solely born to send Asmodeus back to hell.

This saviour was a strange type, he wasn't the typical hero anyone would want, as darkness spun wildly within him, it was only rumored to be a gift from the Heavens.

He was a god, one that took his own crucial and just decisions while being regardless of whose side he was on. Legend explained in history books and myths that he was a seventh hell demon would slayed an entire army of demoniacs with just one strike.

The rest of these rumors, were only yet to be confirmed.

However, according to history, the reputation of this god only seemed to have gone on the downside after he fell in love with a human.

In the meanwhile, Lucas stared gruesomely at Emily, his gaze held the tendency to pierce through her as it slowly conformed to a bitter glower. Emily was left in awe for a moment, unsure of what kept her agape.

Was it that he had randomly showed up right when she was starting to run crazy and yell at herself, or how he'd gotten there as fast? Whatever it was she shouldn't have been too surprised, as she knew already what this mysterious man was capable of.

"I agree to your deal." He said again, this time moving closer to her.

However, it was true that Emily had been awaiting that response all week long, but she couldn't help but being surreptitious about his sudden obliging attitude.

Where was the part where he names his condition? It wasn't there, and for that, she didn't find too many-a-reason to trust him.

"Alright," she simply said, trying to sound like she didn't care one bit, "why though? Cause you seem like you're totally ready to risk exposing your true identity."

Lucas glared deep into her eyes, trying to decipher what kind of guts she had, "I'm not in the mood for any chit chat, I already made myself clear, I'll help you find the one who's been casting these demoniacs and then you'll have to clear my name off your books."

"I'm not dumb, I know what I'm supposed to do." Emily replied defensively.

"Good, cause I was just starting to think you were." He retorted, his immediate reply was as sharp as an unused blade.

Lucas threw his hands into the pockets of his black overcoat, Emily had studied him for a while and noticed he wasn't the person to wear any other cloth color. And for some reason, she pictured him in a blue tuxedo and almost threw up afterwards.

Lucas brought a card out of his pockets and handed to Emily. It was intricately designed with silver and blue patterns and on it was an address.

Code No; 43 12, Downtown.

"Meet me there next tomorrow at 2am," Lucas said, "and make sure your movements are incognito, if possible, come with a taxi."

"Why?"

Lucas slapped his face in exhaustion, "if you really want to get through with this, you'll do as I say."

With that, he turned and walked away as Emily hoped to see him disappear. But he only walked towards the door and opened it up, pausing for a second.

"And just so you know," he added, "I can be very nice, but only until I'm betrayed."

With that he walked out and shut the door behind. Emily rolled her eyes at the immediate nothingness before her.

"Nice my foot."
