Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Prospective Fighter Exam

The next day, before dawn, Qin Mu was already up. After preparing food for the worker bug, Qin Mu took the subway, transferring several times, and spent over an hour before finally arriving at the entrance of the Limit Dojo in the central district of the city, also known as the famous Ming-Yue sector.

At the entrance of the residential area, six armed soldiers stood guard. Without waiting for them to speak, Qin Mu said directly, "I am Qin Mu, an elite student of the Limit Dojo, here to participate in the prospective fighter exam."

The soldiers nodded and did not say much. Today was the day of the exam, and it was normal for people to come for the test. After an elderly man with white hair confirmed Qin Mu's identity, a soldier led him inside.

"Let's go. There are quite a few people here for the exam today. Don't wander around once you're inside," the soldier said as he led the way, explaining some rules to Qin Mu.

Ming-Yue sector, as a fighter residential area, consisted of rows of villas with beautiful scenery, various flowers, grasses, and rockeries arranged in an orderly manner.

In the center of the residential area stood a towering building, which was Qin Mu's destination and the site of the exam. After the soldier brought Qin Mu to the exam location, his task was completed, and a sweet-looking receptionist took over.

Inside, there was a small bar counter, and four people were already waiting there, but they were not chatting and were sitting quietly. Among them, a young man in a black training suit, looking lean and wiry, caught Qin Mu's attention.

"Luo Feng!" Qin Mu's heart skipped a beat. He had finally met Luo Feng. The unremarkable young man in front of him was Luo Feng. In the future, he would save the earth multiple times, later carrying the banner of humanity and becoming the backbone of the human race, a nearly perfect protagonist. Of course, at this moment, he was still just a young and inexperienced youth.

"Qin Mu?" Luo Feng was somewhat surprised to see Qin Mu also participating in the exam.

Although they were classmates, their relationship was ordinary, and they usually trained separately. Seeing Qin Mu, Luo Feng didn't pay too much attention. If he could come for the exam, others naturally could too.

"Are your injuries healed? Congratulations, I heard that there's someone named Qin Mu in the dojo whose strength has improved rapidly. I didn't expect it to be you."

Luo Feng smiled. As Qin Mu's classmate and a member of the Limit Dojo, Luo Feng naturally knew about Qin Mu's injury half a year ago.

"They're healed. It was only after my injuries healed that I discovered my strength had improved significantly," Qin Mu replied with a smile.

Qin Mu had been training in the dojo recently, attracting the attention of many people, even the dojo master Jiang Nian had taken notice, but Qin Mu was so engrossed in his training that he didn't care about these things. Unlike Qin Mu, who had only recently risen to prominence, Luo Feng had always been a genius and was one of the three elite students in the school, admired by many. The two chatted about school matters and had no shortage of topics. Their first meeting was pleasant, and they got along well.

Before long, four more people arrived one after another, including a person named Yang Wu, who was also from the same Limit Dojo as them. They chatted for a while, and the exam finally began.

Under the guidance of a fighter in loose sportswear, the nine of them took the elevator to the sixth floor. The elevator doors opened, revealing a massive training ground where a dozen people were chatting. Among them, the only person Qin Mu recognized was the dojo master of his Limit Dojo branch, Jiang Nian. Obviously, these people were all fighters.

"Prepare for the test." A fighter with loose hair spoke from the crowd. This person was Wu Tong, the dojo master of the main branch of Limit Dojo in this base city and was called chief instructor.

"Come one by one. Give me your ID cards." The fighter who led Qin Mu and the others took their ID cards and handed them to Chief Instructor Wu Tong.

"The test begins."

Wu Tong took out an ID card and swiped it across the open instrument. A crystal-clear, seemingly transparent screen popped up on the instrument, displaying a large amount of personal information.

"First one, Qin Mu." The chief instructor looked at the identity information.

"Test your punching power."

"Yes."

Qin Mu didn't expect to be the first one. He immediately stepped forward, slightly adjusted his state, and with a burst of strength from his waist, he punched the punching bag. The number 933kg immediately appeared on the screen of the punching power test machine. Seeing the number, Qin Mu let out a sigh of relief. He had performed normally.

"Pass. Next one, Luo Feng." The chief instructor casually swiped the second ID card on the instrument and looked at the detailed identity information, smiling.

"Oh, eighteen years old. Old Jiang, another one from your Zhi'An District. The previous one was nineteen, and this one is eighteen. Both are quite good."

"Haha, Qin Mu has only recently risen to prominence. It's a pity he was injured from overtraining before, otherwise, he could have come for the exam even earlier. As for Luo Feng, hehe, you'll see," Instructor Jiang Nian laughed heartily. He was naturally aware of the people from his branch who came to participate in the exam and had even conducted investigations in advance.

"Don't be too happy too soon. The previous one barely passed, and this one is even younger. His strength is probably not as good as the last one," a rather obese old man among the dozen fighters joked.

Instructor Jiang Nian curled his lips. "Nonsense, Luo Feng, go up and show the people from the Bei You District what a genius is."

"Yes, Instructor."

Luo Feng stepped forward and responded loudly before walking towards the punching power test machine.

"Boom" "1101kg"

"Not bad. At this age, he can be considered a genius. Well, he passes."

Chief Instructor Wu Tong took out another ID card and swiped it across the instrument. "Next one."

The nine people quickly completed the punching test, and only one was eliminated, leaving eight to participate in the next item, the speed exam.

"One by one. The order will be the reverse of just now. The first one is Yang Wu." Chief Instructor Wu Tong instructed. Yang Wu was the last one to test his punching strength, and this time he was the first to test his speed.

"25.1m/s"

"Haha, Yang Wu, you're quite lucky. You actually made it past the line." Instructor Jiang Nian also laughed heartily. Unlike Qin Mu, who was taking the exam for the first time, Yang Wu had participated many times before. His speed was his weak point, and he had always been just a bit short of passing.

Yang Wu ran over and looked at the display screen, which clearly showed the data—25.1m/s.

"Phew, that was close." Yang Wu himself smiled. He had finally passed.

"Well, pass. Next one." Chief Instructor Wu Tong also smiled.

It was soon Luo Feng's turn.

"28.6m/s"

"Very good speed, actually so much higher than the passing line." Chief Instructor Wu Tong nodded with a smile.

"Next one."

Qin Mu adjusted his breath and walked up, sprinting with all his might.

"27.6m/s" "Pass."

Chief Instructor Wu Tong smiled. Discovering several good talents in a row, Wu Tong felt quite pleased.

The speed exam ended, and only two were eliminated, leaving six to continue to the final exam, the reaction speed test. Like the branch of the Limit Dojo, the reaction speed test was also conducted using an instrument similar to a six-barreled Gatling gun, but it looked much more advanced. This was normal. Unlike the one in the branch, this instrument was not only for the exam of prospective fighters.

"First one, Qin Mu," Chief Instructor Wu Tong said. Qin Mu heard and immediately stepped forward. This stage was what Qin Mu was most concerned about. Although he had basically passed during training, the actual exam was different.

The switch was turned on, and the machine started. Wu Tong explained the rules, which were the same as what Qin Mu had known before—to dodge within the circle without touching or leaving the circle, otherwise, points would be deducted, and if the score was not enough, he would be eliminated.

After explaining, Wu Tong walked to the reaction test machine and adjusted it to the appropriate intensity for the prospective fighter exam.

"Begin." The massive barrel of the neural reaction test machine began to rotate, and bullets flew out one after another. Qin Mu's eyes were fixed on the barrel as he dodged rapidly within the circle.

"Thud." Although Qin Mu had given it his all, he was still hit from time to time.

Time passed second by second, and soon a minute had passed. The barrel of the test machine quickly slowed down and stopped rotating, and a large amount of data appeared on the central screen.

"In 60 seconds, hit 50 times, did not touch the red light, pass"

"Qin Mu, congratulations. Once the official document is issued and your information is recorded into the citizen identity information, you will be a prospective fighter," Chief Instructor Wu Tong smiled.

After passing the exam, the official certificate would generally be issued within seven days, and it would be recorded into the citizen identity information.

"I passed!" Qin Mu's face showed a relieved smile. He had finally passed and could start preparing for the plan to enter the wilderness area.
