Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Transmigration

June 16, 2056, at 8 PM, a young man with a handsome face lay unconscious on a computer desk in a somewhat dilapidated residential building. Despite his unconscious state, his face bore a look of agony.

After an unknown period, the young man's fingers twitched slightly.

"Ouch, that hurts!" Qin Mu instinctively covered his head and slowly regained consciousness.

"Where am I?" Qin Mu looked around in confusion. He was in an unfamiliar room, simply furnished with a bed, a wardrobe, and a computer desk. On the left side of the computer desk was a photo frame containing a picture of a strange couple and a little boy—a family portrait.

The sight of the photo triggered a flood of memories in Qin Mu's mind: the RR virus, evolution, monsters, and fighters.

'I live in Jiangnan Base city, in the Zhi An District, and I'm a high school student. Today is June 16. The college entrance exams are over, and the results are out today. I have a classmate named Luo Feng, who fainted during the exams?"

"Wait, Luo Feng?? Is this the world of Swallowed Star?"

As his memories continued to resurface, Qin Mu finally confirmed that he had crossed into the world of Swallowed Star. He touched his face and found a mirror, looking at a visage almost identical to his previous life's but much more youthful. Qin Mu fell silent.

The original owner of this body was also named Qin Mu. His father was a soldier who lost his life eight years ago while resisting an invasion of monsters. His mother was a military researcher who perished five years ago when her entire team was wiped out by monsters during a research trip. At 13, he became an orphan.

Over the years, he trained relentlessly, aiming to become a fighter and slay all the monsters. To become a fighter, one must meet three conditions: a strength of 900kg, a speed of 25m/s, and a good reaction speed.

Unfortunately, the original Qin Mu had average talent. Despite his desperate training, he remained only an intermediate student at the Dojo of Limit. His best punching force was only 756kg, but his speed was quite good, with a best record of 24.12m/s, not far from the requirements for a prospective fighter, and his reaction speed had already met the standards. However, due to his lack of punching force, he couldn't even reach the standard of 800kg for an elite student at the dojo.

the original Qin Mu, it was almost an impossible figure to achieve without some special opportunity. Because even with his frenzied training, his strength hadn't improved for a long time.

Eventually, due to overtraining, his body accumulated too many hidden injuries, and he fainted in the training room half a year ago. It took three days of hospitalization to save his life. After that, every time he trained, his body felt like it was being pierced by needles, almost severing his path to becoming a fighter. He tried every method, buying various drugs and trying various folk remedies, but there was no improvement.

His dream was almost shattered, but even so, he didn't give up, turning his hopes to the college entrance exams. As long as he could get into a military academy and use its resources, he still had a chance to recover and become a fighter. However, a text on the computer screen completely shattered his dreams.

A difference of one point completely dashed the original Qin Mu's hopes. In extreme grief and indignation, he blacked out, and when he woke up, he was Qin Mu from another world.

"I was only one point short!" Qin Mu sighed.

In truth, the original Qin Mu was quite remarkable, with a willpower far surpassing that of ordinary people, but fate was cruel. When he discovered that his body was damaged and couldn't recover, he didn't despair but hoped to achieve his dream through another path. Unfortunately, a difference of one point was like the gap between heaven and hell.

After carefully sorting through the memories in his mind, Qin Mu finally calmed his inner excitement. In his previous life, Qin Mu loved reading novels, including "Swallowed Star." He had read "Swallowed Star" many times, remembering most of the plots and even the timeline. This was an incredibly vast world.

On Earth, countless monsters occupied the skies and oceans, confining humans to various base cities. When humans paid a great price and nearly exterminated the upper echelons of human society to defeat the monsters and leave Earth, they discovered that the universe was so vast. There were more than 200,000 life planets in just the Milky Way alone. And the Milky Way was just one of the eight galaxies controlled by the Silverblue Empire, a low-level civilized nation. Eight galaxies, what a vast empire! Yet this was just a low-level nation.

Above it was the Black Dragon Mountain Empire, a medium civilized nation controlling over 8,000 galaxies. The Silverblue Empire was just one of the vassal states of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire. And the mighty Black Dragon Mountain Empire was merely a small subsidiary of the high-level civilized nation, the Ganwu Universe Country.

Further up were other territories of the human race, territories of other races, the Original Universe, and even the Universe Ocean and the Origin Continent.

The universe was vast, with countless races living in it, countless strong individuals, and countless opportunities and dangers. In this world, even the Undying were just a starting point. The Universe Masters and the True Gods, were the true powerhouses.

This world was too vast, and in comparison, Earth was too small. Yet, despite its smallness, Earth was where the story began. The college entrance exams had just ended, and Luo Feng wasn't even a prospective fighter yet. Knowing the development of the plot, there was still a chance to attach himself to him.

However, Qin Mu didn't have that intention now. Because in Qin Mu's mind, there was a peculiar soul connection. The target of the connection was right in front of him, on the right side of the computer desk. It was a bug the size of a palm, with an elastic shell and a surface resembling a caterpillar—a larva of the Zerg race that had slept for countless years but was still alive. Through the soul connection, Qin Mu knew it had become his clone. Just like how Luo Feng later had the clone of the Golden Horned Beast.

Qin Mu could clearly perceive and control everything about it. Qin Mu shifted his consciousness into the Zerg larva's body. In an instant, Qin Mu felt his visual senses suddenly become strange, as if the world in front of him had been magnified a thousand times. A giant appeared in his field of vision, startling Qin Mu. But he quickly realized that this was the perspective of the larva, and the giant was himself.

The Zerg race was a powerful species capable of infinite devouring, evolution, and mutation. In the world of Swallowed Star, the Zerg race also existed. Not only did it exist, but the Zerg race was also one of the six pinnacle races. He had transmigrated and also gained a golden finger.

After a moment of excitement, Qin Mu forced himself to calm down. If he didn't want to be mediocre like in his previous life, he had to consider his current situation. The college entrance exams were over, and changing his fate through the exams was no longer an option. The only hope was the larva in front of him.

Knowing the future development, Qin Mu was well aware that Earth was a planet fraught with disasters. In the near future, Earth's civilization would face a nearly extinction-level disaster. Three years later, on January 13, 2060, a Golden Horned Beast would attack the New York Base in the United States.

This would officially open a war that almost annihilated humanity. It was a total war between humans and monsters.

Under the leadership of the Golden Horned Beast, most of the base cities would be breached. Earth's strongest, Hong and Lei Shen (Thunder God), would fight desperately, burning their souls and falling into a coma, almost becoming vegetables.

The protagonist Luo Feng would sacrifice five great fighters and burn everything, but he would still be no match. In the end, it would be thanks to the inheritance of Hu Yan Bo that he would successfully possess the Golden Horned Beast and survive the crisis.

Without becoming a fighter, one wouldn't even qualify to be cannon fodder in such a war. In this world, to control one's destiny, one must have enough strength to do so.
