Chapter 14 - First mission

The Everhart family. They are the first people who I thought of immediately.

"The Everhart family right?"

"Correct. Yes, they are one of the siblings descendants. How do we know? The history books they have hidden away."

I see. The older generations had wrote down everything from the beginning to now. Passed down to the current family head, and to write down the events happened while they hold the title of the family head and the book.

"Well kid, teaching you is quite fun. But, that is it for now." As he looked up at the clock and stood up.

"Thanks for teaching me Sir Dante."

"No need for the sir. Just call me Dante." As he put back the book at the suitcase and closed it.

I nodded and looked at the time. It is around 6:30 PM. He soon walked towards the front door and grabbed the doorknob.

"Kid, what time do you usually get back here? I ask because I want to know when do I need to be here."

"Well, around 4:30 PM." I said.

"Got it. I will be around that time as well tomorrow. See ya later!" Walked out and waving his hand as he walked away.

Once I confirmed he left, I started to clean up the table and started to cook for dinner.

Later, I finished everything and layed down on the bed with my pajamas. I looked at the ceiling and remembered everything he said.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

(Dante's POV)

I walked out of the kid's home and thought about his possible potential. Many of the kids I thought are quite arrogant since they know about the story which is fine for me. But having a kid listen to my lesson is quite nice.

Besides, he is Viktor's son. Well, I want to know how far can that kid go. Seeing that face with fascination on his eyes, it makes me want to just make him my disciple. It's a first, yes. But you know as they say, learn as we go.

Soon, a horn from a car reached me loudly, interrupting my thoughts. I bowed my head and he just nodded and let me cross.

Once I arrived to the meeting place, a car is waiting for me. I knocked and the door opened. A person is waiting on the driver's seat when I got in.

I placed my suitcase on the empty seat and said let's go.

With my confirmation, he drove off to the outside of a city in a quiet and peaceful place. Later, we stopped at a normal looking house and entered there.

He then led me to a room with a huge desk and 3 monitors placed at the top along with a keyboard and mouse.

"Sir, please wait here for a bit as I call my lord." He said, I nodded and sat down.

A few minutes later, the monitors turned on and I saw the face of a friend of mine.

"Hahahaha, how are you Dante? Looking good as usual."

Philip Everhart. One of my trusted friends.

"Yes, I have been feeling great lately hahahaha!"

I know he doesn't like a serious atmosphere about these kind of things. So I made it more friendly.

"Well, let's get to point. What do you think of Lux?" He asked with a bit of seriousness.

"The kid is interesting and has potential."

"Gahahahaha! Seems like you will do that huh? Poor kid, he won't be able to move around for a while."

"You make it as if I treated them harshly."

"… Well, that is up to you. But I will believe the kid will pass the test."

Surprised by what he said, I wonder how will that kid pass my test? The test is simple, conquer a dungeon. A seeker must be able to do that atleast.

Right now, many seekers need to be in groups for them to conquer a dungeon. Of course I adjusted the difficulty level to match their level. But no one passed the test individually.

"Well, I will make him take the test by the weekend. I want to see wether he has the strength to do so."

"Yeah, yeah. Anyways, I have meetings to attend to, so see you later!" And hanged up.

I sat there quietly. And soon, the driver entered in and asked if I would like to be delivered back to the city. I did.

Later, I got back to a simple apartment building and rest.

(Tomorrow, I will have to teach that kid to use his astral artifact. If he has one.) I thought.

But little did I know, that would be a mistake I made.
