Chapter 118: Soul Restoration; A New Found Path!

---

Adrian looked at Tessa gently. She had just told him everything she had seen in that strange plane she was sent to, along with other pieces of information she hadn't shared before.

"So, I am the true son of Solaris, born from his union with a maid, while you are the sole living heir of Solaris and Lunara… When you first told me, I found it hard to believe. In fact, I wondered if you were joking, but it's difficult to deny once you mention Rhemon's involvement. Judging by his actions, that guy is pure evil." Adrian spoke with his arms folded, his left hand resting under his chin.

"We don't know what's going to happen now. We might need Solaris and Lunara to intervene in this war. We don't know what Rhemon is planning or if we're able to stop him. I haven't inherited my full Sun legacy; I only have a portion of my Moon legacy," Tessa confessed.

"Other than the eternal flames that respond to my command, I haven't inherited the Sun's legacy either," Adrian replied breathing deeply.

As the two continued their discussion, the broken remains of Ikehara, which had long turned to ashes, began to reconstruct. Ash particles slowly knitted together, forming flesh that was returning to a purer state, untouched by the earlier burns. The process, initially slow, accelerated as legs formed, followed by thighs, a midriff, chest, shoulders, and finally a head.

"Ikehara…" Both Tessa and Adrian muttered in unison.

"Rhemon must be using the Cloak of Restoration to revive him," Tessa added.

Before they could react, Ikehara blended into the shadows and disappeared.

It didn't end there. In a corner of the room, the floating consciousness of Ashley began to reform, a ghostly apparition taking shape. Gradually, a new body was constructed for her. First, long, smooth legs took shape, giving way to curves that could make a person lose sleep in lust or envy. Then her back and a set of busty curves formed, with a face so striking it could stop hearts. But before Tessa and Adrian could take in the transformation, Ashley Duve vanished.

"Rhemon has restored them both… He's even more powerful than we thought," Adrian murmured.

"He's using the Cloak of Restoration, so it's no surprise he could restore them," Tessa reminded him.

"What about their souls? The restoration of their souls wasn't the work of the Cloak of Restoration, which only repairs damaged bodies. It was likely the work of the Sands of Lino, which he's somehow absorbed. That means he now has the ability to restore bodies with the cloak and to reconstruct souls with his power. That makes it almost impossible to defeat him now…" Adrian's tone grew grave.

"Relax, sis," Adrian noticed the weight of his words on her shoulders. Her shoulders were slumped as if she had become hopeless in the face of impending doom.

"Even if he's powerful, the Sands of Lino are consumable. They have a limit. He'll eventually exhaust it. The same goes for the eternal flames and the moon dew. He wasn't born with them like we were, so he can't sustain it for long. Eventually, he'll run out of borrowed power and be left only with whatever internal strength he has. We just need to play our cards right and hope luck is on our side," Adrian reassured her, placing a hand on her shoulder.

He moved his other hand to her opposite shoulder, drawing closer to her with labored breath. "Part of me wishes you weren't my sister…" he murmured as he gazed into her eyes.

Tessa felt her heart race, as if it might burst under the pressure. She watched as Adrian lowered his head until they were practically nose to nose.

"I want to do one last thing before I continue this role as your brother…" Adrian's gaze held hers, intense with a maelstrom of emotions as his eyes searched through hers.

"Adrian, stop…" Tessa tried to protest, but her hands didn't move to stop him. Adrian leaned closer, his breath warm against her face.

"Adrian…" she whispered, just before he kissed her, deeply, without a care in the world. Burying her his lips in hers in a kiss that left both forgetting the world around them.

A voice sounded from the doorway. "Is this why you've been becoming distant from me…?" Adrian and Tessa broke apart, turning to see Nyala and Nymff standing just a few meters away at the entrance.

"I…" Adrian stammered, unsure of what to say. He couldn't tell them it was his last kiss with her, that sounded absurd nor that she was his sister—that would only make things even worse.

Nymff turned, tears streaming down her face as she fled the room. The warrior Nymff, who had conquered countless foes, was crying like a little girl. Adrian didn't hesitate to chase after her. Tessa took a deep breath, understanding the situation, but with everything else at stake, she decided not to intervene. This drama was insignificant compared to the devastation looming over the world.

"Are you okay…?" Nyala asked, stepping closer to Tessa.

"You're not weirded out by all of this?" Tessa asked, meeting her gaze.

"Nope… I know you wouldn't do anything against your principles. If you were allowing him to kiss you, you must have had your reasons. Who am I to judge?" Nyala replied with quiet reverence.

Tessa was touched by Nyala's faith in her. She went on to explain the situation with Rhemon and her relationship with Adrian.

Nyala was stunned, her mouth opening and closing as she tried to grasp the many layers of complexity.

"So, in other words, we're dealing with Rhemon, a supercharged villainous god on the loose, who can repair flesh and restore souls… albeit with a certain limit?" Nyala asked, her words catching in her throat.

"Yup, that's about it," Tessa nodded.

"So we're entirely reliant on you, Moon Goddess, to save us all," Nyala said, bowing with a new solemnity.

Tessa hadn't expected her to take it this far.

"Nyala… I appreciate your faith in me, but I'm not a god… I'm just…" Tessa began, but before she could finish, Nyala dropped to her knees.

"Moon Goddess, please don't give up on us. You have the power of the sun and the moon in your veins, meaning you have the potential to surpass both Solaris and Lunara. Please, do everything you can to inherit your full legacy and save us in our time of need…" Nyala spoke with her head bowed.

Tessa was struck silent, unsure how to respond. Having potential was one thing; inheriting the full legacy was entirely different. She could only respond with a heavy, wordless sigh.
