NEW ROOMMATE
"The surgery was successful!" Amanda announced into the phone.
"Really? Is she awake?" Chloe asked excitedly.
"Not yet, the doctor said she will wake up in a day or two so that her brain can start healing." She explained .
"That's good, I will speak to the doctor later. Can you send me a picture" She replied, raising her hands to rest on her thudding chest.
"Sure, why not?"
"Thank you."
A few seconds later she received the picture. Her eyes prickled with tears at the sight of the small child in the big hospital bed. Her head was wrapped with gauze and a bandage, some tubes were connected to her body.
Wiping her eyes, she returned to the table.
"I thought you had gotten enough of my son and decided to flee." Mr Zeus joked as she sat on her chair.
Chloe let out a genuine chuckle at his words.
"If only you knew…" She thought, throwing a glance at Samael who gave a tight smile in return.
The dinner ended soon after and they returned to the mansion. Samael's father went to bed almost immediately after.
Chloe went to her room with the intention of doing the same only to discover that the room had been emptied out. She stopped a maid in the hallway.
"Where are all my things?" She asked with a frown.
"We have moved your things to Mr Zeus' room on his command" The woman answered timidly.
Without saying another word, Chloe angrily stormed to his office where she knew he would be. She pushed the door open without bothering to knock and stepped into the room, shutting the door behind her.
"Why?" That was all she asked, with her hands folded in a tight grip.
"Here you go again, always making a scene out of everything." He taunted with a frown, as if he had been disturbed by her presence.
"Just answer the damn question!" She insisted.
"Anybody would find it suspicious if a soon-to-be married couple were sleeping in separate rooms, wouldn't they?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
"That does not have anything to do with us!" She voiced out.
"It seems you must have forgotten our arrangement but I don't have the time or energy to remind you. I will just tell you this; my father thinks of us as a loving couple and we have to stay in the same room for him to believe that lie." He simply stated.
Chloe let out a scoff in annoyance.
"Or else, you know what will happen next, don't you?" He asked with a threat in his tone.
"Fine!" She gritted out and stormed out of his office in the same manner she had come in, shutting the door loudly behind her this time.
She made her way to his room after asking for directions from a maid.
Surprisingly, the room was just down the hall from her.
"Why did I never see him go into his room?" She thought with furrowed brows and concluded that he must have been actively avoiding her.
She stepped into the room and was amazed by the sheer size of it, but she was much too angry to properly admire the room. Instead, she quickly located the huge walk-in-closet to find that her things had been arranged on one side.
Letting out a loud groan of frustration, she grabbed a pair of clothes to sleep in before moving to the bathroom. She noticed that all of her toiletries had been moved too.
'Of course, he always has everything planned out!" She thought in annoyance.
Chloe took a hot shower and returned to the room feeling much better than before.
That was until she took a look at the large bed.
"Definitely not!" She spoke matter-of-factly.
She considered her options and her eyes brightened as she eyed the big couch on the other side of the room.
"This will have to do." She thought, going on a hunt for blankets.
After searching for a while, she finally found them in a tall cupboard in the closet.
Next, she set to arranging them on the couch. The door was pushed open while she was doing this.
"What are you doing?" Samael's voice called out from behind her.
"What does it look like I am doing?" She retorted without turning around or pausing her movements.
"I want to know why, did I forget the conversation we just had?" He asked again, unbuttoning his shirt.
"I think the answer is very obvious, I'm going to sleep on the couch." She answered as if she was speaking to a child.
"Don't patronise me! The bed is-"
"I am not sleeping on the same bed with you and it is even irrelevant to our arrangement. I don't see how it poses an issue unless your father plans to sneak into the room in the middle of the night." She said snarkily, cutting him off.
"Do whatever you want!" He replied angrily, walking into the bathroom and shutting the door with a bang.
"Asshole." She muttered underneath her breath before settling on the couch and snuggling beneath the numerous blankets due to the temperature of the room.
"Icy cold, just like his heart." She thought with a scowl.
She shifted from side to side trying to sleep, ignoring Samael's presence he stepped out of the bathroom and got into the bed.
Chloe woke up the next morning to the rays of the sun pointing directly at her. She let out a groan and glanced around the empty room.
"He must have left for work," she concluded.
Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she made her way to the bathroom where she brushed her teeth and washed her face.
Deciding to take a shower, she slowly undressed while she quietly sang to herself. She wrapped a towel around herself before walking to the shower stall, pushing the door to the side.
However, she let out a shriek at the sight before her.
"What the-"
