THE DEVIL'S PREY
CHAPTER FOUR
As Damian left, Xavier's gaze lingered on the door, his thoughts consumed by Sarah. Not fascinating or romantic thoughts, but thoughts on how to consume her completely.
Xavier's phone rang interrupting his thoughts.
"Sir, we've had a theft at the warehouse," his assistant said. "One of our own is involved."
"Take them to the dungeon and wait for me," he said before hanging up.
Xavier's chiseled face darkened, his piercing blue eyes narrowing. His sharp jawline clenched, emphasizing the angles of his handsome face.
He quickly stood up, his tall, athletic frame leaving the chair. His tailored suit hugged his broad shoulders.
Xavier strode out of his office out of anger. His raven-black hair was perfectly styled, not a strand out of place.
He placed a call to Damian "Meet me outside" He didn't wait for any response before hanging up.
As he walked, his employees couldn't help but stare. Xavier's charisma was undeniable, his good looks and authority drawing attention.
He stepped into the elevator, his reflection staring back from the polished steel walls. His intense gaze seemed to bore into his own eyes, a hint of fury was right there
The doors opened, and Xavier emerged into the reception. His employees parted, sensing his fury.
Xavier pushed through the door and stepped into the company's compound. Damian was already waiting by the Rolls-Royce.
"To the empire, make sure none of those reporters trail behind us," Xavier ordered.
Damian nodded and opened the door. Xavier slid into the leather seat, his eyes blazing with anger.
As the car pulled away, Xavier's phone rang again. He looked at the contact and ignored it
~DUNGEON, SIN-NATION EMPIRE~
The whole dungeon was as silent as a graveyard, the gang members stood quietly in order, and no one dared speak up or lift their heads.
If a needle were to fall at this moment, its sound would be heard clearly.
Who would dare look into those eyes?
His red eyes were filled with rage and anger at the moment.
At the front was a guy and a lady knelt, their whole body shaking out of fear.
On a seat was Xavier Adrian, it was his name but few dared to call him by it. It was a name that presented power and danger.
In this underground realm, Xavier ruled Supreme.
By day, he wore tailored suits and controlled Nexus Technologies, the biggest Tech Company in Italy. But by night, he is the leader of the Sin Nation empire, the most dangerous mafia clan in Italy.
He was sitting down while Eva stood beside him, as far as everyone was concerned, she was his right-hand woman.
She's like the Beta who's always beside the Alpha so none of the gang members dares to disrespect her except, of course, Valerie.
"I received a report." Xavier began, his deep voice coming out very low. "A traitor among us aided an intruder, stealing from my goods under my nose!"
He faced the man and gave him a dark smile
"Tell me." Xavier demanded, "Are you the intruder?"
The man shook with fear.
"I'm asking you a question. Were you behind the lost bags?".
The guy was shaking out of terror, sweat rolled down his pale face and dropped to the ground flowing endlessly as his heart raced.
"Answer me!" Xavier yelled, his body shaking out of rage. One of the things he despised the most was betrayal.
Eva touched Xavier's shoulder in an attempt to calm him down but made no progress. The gang members were a bit shaken but they tried to maintain their composure to avoid getting into bigger trouble.
"Yes! It was me! She helped me in taking it out. She works for us." The guy broke into tears while the girl remained silent knowing there was no way she would get away with this.
Xavier got up and the guy fell on his face.
"Forgive me..."
"Silence!" He cuts in.
He moved towards the girl and bent slowly to her height level before letting out a smile.
"You should know the consequences of betraying me already, but still you went ahead to do that?" He asked and placed his pistol on her forehead and without any warning. He fired the gun
"Ahhhh!" The guy screamed out in terror seeing what just happened.
"Please. I have a family..." Before he could finish, Xavier shot him aiming at his head directly and he dropped flat dead.
The mobsters all kept quiet. Xavier turned sharply to face them, but nobody moved or flinched.
He released one of his deadly smiles which disappeared almost immediately from his lips before walking away.
The mobsters all fell on the ground letting out the breath they'd been holding except Eva, Valerie, and Jericho.
The strongest members.
Eva chuckled and crossed her arms. "Get rid of the bodies," She said and walked away, passing through the path they'd made for her.
As Eva walked away, Rain and Frank fell in step behind her, their voices lowered. "Do you think the girl the boss brought in will be the next to be killed?" Rain asked, her brow furrowed
Frank's expression turned skeptical. "It's hard to say. The boss has been tight-lipped about her."
Rain glanced around cautiously. "But what's the point of bringing her here? She's obviously not one of us."
Frank shrugged. "Maybe she's a new asset, or perhaps just a pawn in his game."
Rain's eyes narrowed. "But what game? And what's her role?"
"We'll find out soon enough. The boss doesn't keep secrets for long."
Rain's concern grew deeper. "What if she's in danger? He isn't exactly known for mercy."
As they approached the entrance of the dining hall, Rain leaned in.
"You think the boss got a thing for her?"
Frank raised an eyebrow. "He doesn't 'have things' for women. He has uses for them."
Rain sighed. "Poor girl. She has no idea what she's gotten herself into."
Frank nodded. "Let's just hope she's prepared for what's coming."
***************************
"Honestly, I feel sorry for Betty." Rose said beside Sophie who was busy shooting
aggressively.
Her best friend just got killed.
She continued shooting with rage. However, she finds it hard to believe that Betty is an intruder. They've been here for two years.
"But I still wonder why would Betty betray the clan...I mean t-"
"Shut up and stop talking about her!" Sophie yelled, pointing her gun at Rose
"Hey chill okay? Betty was also my friend." Joe appeared behind them holding a drink in his hand.
"You all don't have to fight about it. She's gone and there will be no mourning for a betrayer." Gigi walked in, her two arms crossed on her chest.
"Rather, there will be a party tonight to celebrate their death." Gigi laughed earning a glare and a sharp gunshot from Sophie but Gigi was smart enough to dodge it and the bullet penetrated the wall behind her.
"Sophie!! You're f**king insane! Go meet the boss if you're so angry about it!" Gigi said with burning anger, her brown eyes shining aggressively.
"And who the f**k are you to tell me what to do?" Sophie asked immediately walking toward her, Gigi also walked closer to her.
"Oh, another enemy." Rose shook her head.
Sophie and Gigi are another set of enemies in the empire, they fight everywhere they meet but the most annoying thing is that none of them can lose to the other. They are both strong aces.
Before Sophie could get to Gigi, Jericho, who had been observing the whole scene, appeared in front of her dragging Gigi away.
"That's enough, Gigi," He muttered.
Sophie glared at Gigi hatefully before storming out of the training ground.
"Whoa, I love how it's only you who can talk to her." Joe chuckled and Jericho scoffed.
"Well, I feel for her...."
"No, Betty was a liar and a betrayal. She deserves it..." Rose said, cutting Joe off.
Joe made to reply to her while Jericho walked out of the training ground not finding any interest in their conversation.
Gigi stormed after Jericho, her feet battering the ground in sync with her racing heart.
"Jericho!" she called out.
Jericho didn't slow down, his long strides eating up the distance.
"Jericho, wait!" Gigi demanded, grabbing his arm.
He spun around, his gray eyes looking so empty.
"What, Gigi?" he asked.
Gigi frowned in annoyance. "You always do this! You always take Sophie's side!"
Jericho raised an eyebrow. "I'm not taking sides. I'm maintaining order."
Gigi's grip on his arm tightened. "You know Sophie's insane! Why do you always protect her?"
Jericho's expression remained solid. "I'm protecting the clan, not Sophie. Grow up, Gigi."
Gigi's eyes flashed with anger. "Grow up? You think I'm joking around?"
Jericho shrugged. "Whatever it is, stop. We have more important things to focus on."
Gigi's face fell, an ache there in her heart. "Fine. Whatever."
Jericho turned to leave, but Gigi's voice stopped him.
"Jericho?"
He didn't turn back.
"What?" he asked.
"Nothing."
Gigi's voice was barely audible.
Jericho kept walking, leaving Gigi standing alone, her eyes getting watery.

-GIGI'S ROOM~
Gigi walked angrily into her room, slamming the door behind her. Her feet stomped the floor with great annoyance. She collapsed onto her bed, her eyes filling with tears. Painful tears streamed down her cheeks as she sobbed loudly.
Betsy, her friend and roommate, came inside and sat beside her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "Hey, Gig. Don't let Jericho get to you."
Just mentioning Jericho's name seemed to amplify her pain and frustration. Her sobs grew louder and more dramatic.
Betsy rolled her eyes.
"I. I… love him Betsy. " She cried out, earning a glare from Besty.
"Stop shouting." She gave a stern look. "I've told you to confess your feelings to him instead of getting hurt all the time."
"No way Betsy! I'd never do that. He loves me; he's just being shy."
Betsy couldn't help but laugh, her brown eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed, still giggling as she held onto Gigi's shoulder for support. Gigi shot her a glare in response.
"Nothing is funny here" Gigi snapped, making Betsy's laughter die down.
"Gigi, you and I know that Jericho is not shy! What the f**k."
Gigi sniffled, wiping her nose with the back of her hand. "But he always takes Sophie's side. It's so unfair."
Betsy nodded sympathetically. "I know, but you know Jericho's just trying to keep the peace."
Gigi scoffed, "Peace? With Sophie around? Never."
Just then, Luke burst into the room, grinning mischievously. "Hey, what's the party about?" He laughed heartily upon seeing Gigi's puffy eyes.
Betsy rolled her eyes. "Not now, Luke."
Luke ignored her, plopping down at the foot of the bed.
You're just twenty-two and already crying over a man. You're so dumb!" Luke said, earning a playful jab from Betsy.
"Ouch!" he groaned, holding his stomach. Gigi chuckled and gave Betsy a high-five.
"Ohhhh, Gigi, you're so dead," Luke teased.
Before she could react, Luke dashed over and started tickling her legs.
Gigi squealed, laughing despite herself. "Luke, stop!"
Betsy laughed. "Luke, you're such a goofball."
Luke continued to tickle Gigi, making her giggle uncontrollably.
Finally, Gigi managed to push Luke away, gasping for breath. "You're insane, Luke."
Luke grinned. "Someone's got to keep things light around here."
Betsy smiled. "Thanks, Luke. You're just what Gigi needed."
Gigi smiled, feeling a little better. "Yeah, thanks, Luke."
Luke winked. "Anytime, Gig. Now, what's for dinner?
XAVIER'S SUITE
Xavier slammed his fist onto the coffee table beside the bed, the sound echoing through his suit. His body shook, fueling his rage.
"How could they?" he growled, his eyes glowing with anger.
He paced around the room, his mind racing. One thing he hates the most is betrayal.
To Xavier, betrayal was a great and unforgivable sin in a nation's empire. He gritted his teeth in frustration.
Then the door creaked open, and Eva stepped in. She cat walked slowly towards him.
"Xavier, it's okay," she said, her voice soothing.
Xavier's anger didn't wobble.
"Get out," he snapped.
Eva approached him, her eyes locked on his.
"You need to calm down," she whispered, more seductively. Her hands brushed against his designer belt.
Xavier's glare-heightened.
"Let me help you forget this." she continued, her hand already on his growing bulge.
Before she could say any other word, Xavier pushed her to the wall, kissing her roughly. Their kisses had never been gentle.
He had never been gentle with her and she loved it. She moaned into his mouth as he tore down her dress walking her to the bed, not breaking the kiss and pushing her to the bed.
Their intense make-out continued and Eva's moan filled the whole room.
