Chapter 1 - The Cycle of Fate

"God giveth, and God taketh away."

The words were sharp, like the wind cutting through the nameless mountains. Ruga Seishiro stood alone, his body and mind battered and broken, legs fractured, hands trembling, his wounds bleeding—remnants of a futile battle.

Despite the agony, he gazed over the city below as the evening sun dipped beneath the horizon. In his heart, there was only silence—a cold echo of the fate he had already seen unfold.

"The world does not swing one's way... for it was not tailored for oneself."

Cruel, he thought. It was cruel that even after trying so hard, the wheel of fate refused to change its course. In this life, as in his past lives, he had already seen too much. He closed his eyes, haunted by the horrors of seeing humans treated like livestock.

"If you plan to change the wheel of fortune, it shan't go your way."

Once again, he couldn't save others. He made mistakes, lost loved ones, and failed to find the answers he so desperately sought, even though he had been granted the miracle of regression.

"What one shall meet at it it's end, is unshakeable failure"

Beside him stood Lafayette. Her voice was low, almost detached, as she said, "It's over, Ruga. Tell me, do you see any point in living in this kind of world?"

Ruga's gaze remained on the city, where humans were enslaved, tortured, and played with like mere toys by the Vajra. With a soft tone and a faint smile, he replied, "Yeah."

His eyes stayed fixed on the distant suffering. He grabbed a knife lying on the ground and said, "Do you even need to ask such a question?" Then, without hesitation, he pierced his own heart.

Lafayette, her expression unreadable, watched him fall. She let out a bored sigh. "How dull... Who knows what happens when one dies, but it's better than living this monotonous, mundane life."

Slowly, she approached Ruga's lifeless body, took the knife from his now-cold hands, and sliced her own throat. Blood splattered. Her sight darkened, her hearing dulled, her body grew colder. As her life faded, an ever-so-slight smile appeared on her lips.

"The wheel of fortune, huh?"
