Jason's expression turned grave. "We need to investigate the forest. That's our purpose as Group Zero – to uncover what others can't. You selected us for our skills, Principal. Now it's time to utilize them."
The room fell silent, all eyes fixed on Jason. The principal's gaze lingered, then nodded in approval.
"Jason, you're right," he said. "Group Zero was formed for this exact reason. Your initiative is commendable.".
Jason swiftly turned to the others, his voice commanding attention. "No more wasting time."
Ten minutes later, Group Zero arrived at the forest's edge. The exterior seemed picturesque, but the interior was shrouded in darkness, casting an unsettling atmosphere. The group exchanged wary glances, their unease palpable.
Frida, however, beamed with an unsettling grin, as if enthralled by a horror movie.
Aurelio's eyes narrowed, sensing the forest's intense energy. "The principal was right. Multiple auras are present – human and demonic." Laura nodded in agreement, her expression grim.
Dominic's gaze scanned the ground, his voice low and urgent. "Look here." Drag marks marred the earth, evidence of a struggle. "Someone was dragged this way."
The group converged around Dominic, their faces set with determination.
"What do you think happened?" Laura asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Aurelio's eyes swept the surroundings. "This feels like a battleground. We should proceed with caution."
Jason's jaw clenched. "Let's move forward. We need answers."
Frida's smile never wavered. "This is getting interesting."
As they ventured deeper, the forest grew darker, the silence oppressive. Group Zero pressed on, ready to face whatever secrets the forest concealed.
Group Zero followed the trail until it abruptly vanished.
Dominic dropped to his knees, sniffing the air. He rose, frustration etched on his face. "It doesn't make sense. The trail just ends."
The group exchanged disappointed glances. Jason's anger simmered, his fist clenched. "We're heading back. We'll resume tomorrow."
As they turned to leave, Frida pivoted back to the trail's end. A sly smirk spread across her face, her eyes glinting with an unsettling intensity. She reveled in a secret, unseen by the others.
With a sudden burst of speed, Frida sprinted after the group, her smile still plastered on her face.
Jason's voice carried through the forest. "Meet tomorrow morning!"
The darkness seemed to swallow the group whole, leaving the mysterious trail's termination point shrouded in silence.
As they arrive at school everyone splits up to their different classes. The day goes on and all all of them decide to meet at the cafeteria.
As their all having lunch Jason starts a conversation with Laura "Hey, I heard about how you stood up for normies against one of the teachers." Laura and Aurelio look up "Um, yeah. I'm guessing almost everyone in school hates me for that"
Jason suddenly smiles for the first time since their first meeting. He replies "Well probably. But I respect that. You're really cool." To Laura and Aurelios shock Jason holds Laura's hand.
Gurda looks with interest. "A peace of advise though" He says in a whisper "Never say something that dangerous again. I don't want you getting hurt" Aurelio looks at Laura and Jason with jealousy.
Laura feeling uncomfortable quickly removes her hand. "Thanks for the advice" Laura says "Let's keep this between us" Jason whispers in Laura's ear making Aurelio even more jealous.
Jason then gets up and leaves the cafeteria. Gurda looks at Jason for a few seconds before saying to her self "PERVERT"
Laura, her enhanced hearing attuned to the surroundings, turned to Gurda with a teasing glint in her eyes.
"Come now, Gurda. Don't pretend to be shocked. I was merely flirting with him in the forest," she quipped playfully.
Gurda glanced at Laura, a smile breaking across her face. "Oh, so you're the flirtatious type. I expected nothing less from you."
Suddenly, a pack of werewolves emerged from the shadows, their presence imposing. One of them stepped forward, bowing deeply before Gurda.
"Oh, Blood Queen, we humbly present to you and the King the spoils of our first hunt. We sincerely hope you accept our offering," the werewolf proclaimed, his voice resonating with reverence.
Gurda's gaze shifted to another werewolf dragging the massive carcass of a beast behind him. At the sight, Dominic sprang forward, pouncing on the carcass with ravenous hunger, tearing into the flesh with abandon. Gurda watched in disgust as he voraciously devoured the animal.
"You know what... I think I'll pass," she remarked, her tone laced with distaste.
Laura and Aurelio exchanged glances, intrigue evident on Laura's face.
"How is it that I've never noticed this level of madness among the werewolves before?" she mused, captivated by the chaotic display before them.
