Commander Kyle noticed Hazen running in his direction. He hid in a secluded spot, and when she came closer, he dragged her in.
"Ahh!" she screamed, her muscles tensing, ready to attack.
"Calm down; it's me," a deep voice resounded in her ear.
"Commander Kyle," Hazen said, relaxing.
"Mm. You did well," Commander Kyle said, letting her go.
"Where were you? I could have died in there, you know," Hazen said, her tone carrying a hint of scolding, though she couldn't deny how safe she felt seeing him in the flesh.
"There's no way I'd let you die," Commander Kyle replied, his eyes still sharp as he scanned the environment for any signs of people approaching. "We'll talk about this later. Let's get out of here first," he said, taking Hazen by the hand and holding her firmly as he led her.
Commander Kyle led Hazen to a dead end.
