After departing from Crocus, Jason stood on the deck of his ship, gazing out at the vast ocean. He pulled out the system map and examined it carefully. He noticed two locations marked as priority points: one where Trafalgar Law was, which was about a month's sail away, and another closer to their current position, a treasure island only a week away.
Jason called out to Koala, who was at the helm, guiding their ship through calm waters. "Change course. We're heading toward the treasure island first. Law can wait for now."
Koala nodded and adjusted their bearings. "Treasure hunting it is, Captain," she said with a playful grin. "Let's see what the system has in store for us."
The days passed swiftly as Jason spent his time honing his Haki and practicing with "Ace," the legendary saber he had received from his father, Rayleigh. He could feel the powerful aura of the sword resonating with him, a blade that had once belonged to the Pirate King himself. It felt natural in his hand, like an extension of his own will, and Jason couldn't help but imagine the legendary battles it had seen. He was determined to honor the legacy of both Gol D. Roger and his father by wielding it to its full potential.
One week later, they arrived at their destination: a forest-covered island that loomed ahead, dense with towering trees and thick undergrowth. As their ship docked on the island's shore, Jason disembarked, with Koala following closely behind. The air was thick with the scent of nature, and the calls of distant animals echoed through the trees.
Jason glanced down at the system map again. "Three treasure locations," he muttered, pointing out their positions to Koala. "One in the middle, and two on each side of the island. The biggest one is in the middle, but we'll clear the sides first before heading for the grand prize."
Koala smiled, cracking her knuckles. "Let's make it quick. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we're back on course."
They set off toward the northern side of the island, where the first treasure was marked. The journey took an hour as they navigated through thick foliage, dodging vines, and crossing streams. When they arrived at the location, they were greeted by the sight of ancient ruins partially overgrown by the forest. Around the ruins prowled a pack of giant leopards, their sleek black fur blending with the shadows of the forest. Their yellow eyes gleamed as they noticed Jason and Koala approaching.
Jason glanced at Koala. "Think you can handle them?"
Koala grinned, already preparing for battle. "Leave it to me." In an instant, she activated her partial Zoan transformation, taking on the form of a large cat hybrid. With her speed enhanced and her claws infused with Haki, she dashed forward, becoming a blur of motion. The first leopard leaped at her, but she easily dodged it using her mastery of the "Paper Art" technique. With a single swipe of her Haki-infused claws, she cut one of the leopards in half, blood spraying across the ground.
The other leopards snarled and charged at her, but Koala moved with precision, evading their attacks and countering with deadly efficiency. A burst of spirit flame incinerated the remaining leopards as they fell one by one. In a matter of moments, the fight was over.
Jason nodded approvingly. "Good work."
Koala dusted herself off and gestured toward the entrance of the ruins. "Shall we?"
They made their way inside, descending down a dark stone stairway. Jason kept his Haki active, sensing for any hidden traps. Sure enough, he detected a tripwire ahead, connected to a set of rope darts designed to impale any intruders. Without hesitation, he sent a Tempest Kick (Rankyaku) slicing through the air, severing the tripwire and rendering the trap useless.
As they continued deeper, Jason remained vigilant. They eventually arrived at a large stone door. Using his Haki, Jason sensed a mechanism connected to it—a massive boulder was poised to roll down the passage as soon as the door was opened.
"I've got this," Jason said, opening the door. As predicted, the boulder came crashing down toward them, but Jason simply raised his fist and punched it with enough force to shatter it into pieces. The debris scattered around them, leaving the way clear.
Inside the chamber, a large treasure chest sat in the center of the room, gleaming under the faint light from the torches on the walls. Jason approached it and opened the chest to reveal an immense stash of gold. He estimated the treasure to be worth at least 3 billion beli.
With their first haul secured, Jason and Koala wasted no time heading toward the next location on the southern side of the island. The process was much the same—after a trek through the forest, they encountered another set of ancient ruins, but this time there were no enemies guarding it. After descending the stairway and avoiding another trap, they found yet another chest filled with gold, also worth around 3 billion beli.
Satisfied with their progress, Jason looked toward the middle of the island, where the largest treasure was marked. "Let's head for the big one," he said, feeling the anticipation building.
As they neared the central ruins, they encountered two enormous bears standing guard at the entrance. Unlike the leopards, these creatures were much larger and more aggressive, but Jason handled them with ease. In one swift motion, he unsheathed Ace and, using a powerful Haki-infused slash, dispatched the bears in a single stroke.
Once the path was clear, Jason and Koala descended into the final ruin. The stone door was even larger than the previous ones, but Jason didn't bother with subtlety this time—he simply punched the door with enough force to send it flying off its hinges.
Inside, two treasure chests awaited them. Jason opened the first one to find another massive pile of gold, another 3 billion beli. But it was the second chest that caught his attention. As he lifted the lid, his eyes widened in recognition.
Inside the chest was a Devil Fruit. Its shape and appearance indicated that it was a Logia-type, its brown, rocky surface adorned with jagged bumps. Jason immediately pulled out the illustration book from his treasury and flipped through the pages, searching for the corresponding fruit.
After a few moments, he found the entry he was looking for. "The Tsuchi Tsuchi no Mi," he read aloud. "Earth-Earth Fruit. A Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants the user the ability to create, control, and become earth and soil. This power allows the user to manipulate various types of earth, including dirt, sand, rock, and mud, on a massive scale."
Jason smiled as he closed the book. "A powerful fruit indeed," he mused, placing the Devil Fruit into his system treasury. With the gold and the Devil Fruit secured, their expedition to the island was complete.
Jason and Koala made their way back to the ship, satisfied with their haul. As they set sail once again, Jason felt a surge of excitement for the future. With every treasure they claimed and every new power they gained, they were one step closer to fulfilling their grand ambitions.
"Next stop, Trafalgar Law's location," Jason said, watching the island fade into the distance. "But first, let's enjoy the calm before the storm."
Koala smiled from the helm. "Aye, Captain. We've got a long journey ahead."
As the ship sailed toward its next destination, Jason couldn't help but think about the powerful allies and treasures that still awaited them in the vast world. The system map had proven its worth once again, and Jason knew that with it, the future held endless possibilities.
