Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:

Life felt as if something shifted. It seems as soon as I turned thirty years old, the time just stagnated. Everybody moved forward but me. As I sit outside on a bus bench, I seemed to be only one stopped as the rest of the world moved quickly, almost blurring as the time passed. The streetlamps turned on, the sun finally going to rest. The orange blended night sky complimented by the soft glow of the lamp lights looked ethereal.

The wind blew with a cold whistle, leaves fluttering on the ground as the air chills. People walking around with cashmere scarves, the pink noses and down jackets embodying the feeling of fall, slightly cold but with a warm tint. It's time for me to stop sulking now. Because nothing will change, and I am too much of a coward who lacks the power in the first place. The only comfort I have for myself is a small fanboy collection of my favorite music group and the endless supply of webnovels.

I kicked the ground as I walked, the dirt swirling in small gusts.

The last thing my brain processed were two bright lights – and a giant train rushing towards me.

a boy was being dragged out of an alleyway; two men dressed in black suits grabbing his limbs. The boy struggled, but they were too strong for him. They dragged him to a nearby hostel, ignoring his pleas and protests. They pushed him through the entrance of a hostel. The hostel was a rundown building, with peeling paint and broken windows. The entrance was a rusty metal door, the sign above it faded and barely legible. Inside, the hotel was just as bad. The lobby was small and cramped, with a few old couches and a reception desk.

They passed the reception desk, walking down a long hallway with cheap paintings. They knocked and opened a door, throwing the young man in the room with no mercy. He stumbled, trying to regain his balance, landing on his knees in front of the couch. There was a man sitting at the end of it, one arm resting on the side while other held a tablet. He wore glasses, the screen glare hiding the color of his eyes. The man was tall and imposing, watching him with a predatory smile, eyes glinting with malice.

The door shut with a click, the sound loud in the tense silence.

Gasp...!

With a sharp pain behind my eyes, I jolted out my sleep. The smell of sweat and dirt permeated the air, the scent of my body filling the room. The walls were gaudy, with old fashioned flowers printed in patterns. There was a singular desk next to a tiny chair, a small dusty lamp in the middle of it, white cobwebs swaying in the lampshade. The one light in the ceiling flickered, the buzzing sound of electricity whirring. My heart was beating so fast and hard that the I could feel each cell pumping through my body. The anxiety of waking up in an unfamiliar place started to eat at me, my nerves even more high strung as my heart drops into my stomach, my ears started to ring and my sanity kept slipping, as panic surrounded me.

Suddenly, a cold touch spread through my body, liquid ice coursing through my veins, cooling and soothing the panicking cells in my body. My heart started to settle, the throbbing feeling throughout my body slowly subsiding, my breathing finally slowed down.

My eyes cleared, and while I still felt disoriented and confused, I looked around trying to get my bearings. Didn't I die on a train track? I can't remember anything. I tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through my body, making me wince. Looking down, I saw that I was naked, except for a thin grey sheet covering my body. I felt the panic rising in my body again. I quickly jumped out the bed, ignoring the pain in my body. I grabbed my clothes, which were strewn all over the floor, hastily throwing them on. I fumbled with my clothes, my hands shaking slightly. A lump formed in my throat, my eyes heating up in frustration. I don't know what happened after I died, and I don't know what happened for me to wake up here. Dressed, grabbing the black duffle bag by the door with shoes on the top, I slid my feet into the sneakers, the perfect fit further proving the bag and sneakers are mine. I open the door, leaving this unfamiliar place behind.

I had been walking for hours now, observing the world I'm in now. The entire area was surrounded with a magic wall. The magic wall was a shimmering translucent barrier that surrounded the base. It was made of strong magical energy, and it was impossible to pass through without permission. The wall glowed with a soft purple light, it even seemed to ripple and move as if it was alive. There were symbols and runes glittering throughout the wall, strengthening the protective barrier.

I approached the magic wall, the feeling of its power radiating with every step closer. It was like a warm gentle breeze that wrapped around me, promising me its protection. I reached out a hand, the energy of the wall tingled around my skin.

Two men and one woman appeared suddenly, one standing behind him with his finger at his temple, lightning zapping at his fingertips, warping as if impatient. The woman in front of him had an ice sword aimed at his chest, the tip of it frosting his skin as it sat there. The other man stood there, dark violet energy pulsing around him.

I didn't know this yet, but the violet blood power is a rare and dangerous ability. Allowing the person who possessed it to manipulate matter at will, including living creatures. The power was fueled by the owners' emotions, and it was unpredictable. The color was a deep, dark purple, almost black. These violet blood wielders held immense power, but this power could also consume them if they weren't careful. Most of the people with this power either go insane and must be put down like rabid dogs, become villains and sacrifice their emotions, or live life isolated away from people.

The man was dressed in all black, a single insignia on his sweatshirt. Two letters inside a square with a sword.

"B.P..?" I ask, confused at the three people with matching black sweatsuits.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" the man asked, his deep voice causing chills to go up my spine. The man looked me up and down, taking in my mussed appearance. My white sneakers were covered with dirt and debris, while my shirt was wrinkled, brown stains all over it. My pants were okay, but at the ends the threads split, making it look stringy and disgusting after getting wet and muddy. I don't even know what I look like yet! I died and my life is still hard, I cried inside.

The man approached me, but his aura was too much. My body reacted in fear, energy pulsing out at the two people keeping me in check as the man approached me, but it didn't do a single thing. It was like a small burst of air. My energy drained completely, and my body fell with a thud. The duffle bag on my shoulder burst open, the zipper snapping. A metal bracelet clattered to the ground, the man picking it up.

'I can't stay awake any longer.' I sighed, accepting defeat.

It felt better to sleep.

I slowly came to, feeling groggy and disoriented. The surface I was lying on was hard, and I could hear voices nearby. I opened my eyes and saw a group of people in the same black sweatsuit uniform standing over me. An older officer passed me a metal bracelet, clicking it on.

"I replaced your ID, your old one was defective. It seems the one you bought was counterfeit, the energy died and could no longer display your information. that's why at the wall you were approached by border patrol as a hostile because your bracelet didn't identify you. They were on terrorist alert. You're lucky to be alive, kid. Fucking around at the border like that, do you not fear death? If border patrol didn't get you, the monsters out there would. You're just a student, right? Don't do anything stupid like that again. Get the hell out of here." He lectured, moving the conversation at such a fast pace I was already at the front door, the door shut with my bags and bracelet in hand. I wanted to look in a mirror before I left, though!

I put the bracelet on my wrist to avoid losing it and tapped it like the officer did. A picture of a smiling boy showed. The boy had black hair, with piercing green eyes. He had a melancholy feel to his smile, it never really reached his eyes. The hair was thick and messy, falling in waves around his face. There was a slight scar on his left cheek, the roguish look completely opposite to the melancholy aura. He was wearing black clothing, further emphasizing a brooding nature. Despite the lackluster appearance, he was handsome. A beauty, even. This face would be sought after most plastic surgeons.

With nowhere to go, I roamed around the base, finding myself near a small alley, surrounded by slums and wilted trees. I walked through the slums, my footsteps soft on the damp earth. The broken-down trees loomed over me, casting fluttering shadows everywhere. I was lost in thought, my mind raced with questions. I have been walking for hours once again, finding myself lost. I started to scroll through the watch, even finding a d***rd like social platform. I searched as many things as I could. I needed to get an information dump.

Authors note: information dump coming – aha.
